One Idiot Three Wishes Unlimited Chaos. - Chapter 75
After getting all of our sentinels fully upgraded to the best of my spending ability. As I’m going to be broke very soon due to a certain starship but I’m fucking buying it. Each of the state of the art sentinels cost me over 300k dollars which is basically 300k gold. Then a bit more for metal upgrades. Let’s just round it up to like 400k. I had paid 10m dollars for each basic neural power suit. I had bought 6 in total 1 for me, Rin , Sasha and Silvia with two spares as it never hurts to have back ups for whatever reason. This wasn’t counting tools or weapons as some of those needed permits to buy. I mean you can’t just buy a laser cannon out of nowhere. Well I could but people might ask questions.
Then the brand new medium class cruiser being built knocked me back about 250m in cash most of the money I had gotten from robbing sects and selling medicine over the years. Over the course of that time I had also made purchases in auctions for hefty prices like for buying spirits for me and the girls. I’ll get more into that later.
Now I’d also have to upgrade the XL powersuits basically we bought stock models so we have to customize everything ourselves. I feel like the item belongs more to me if I customize things myself ya know? I don’t want some pre used item someone already messed with nah man. At this point they kind of look like big white puppet mannequins that need to be painted and armored.
The next day after dropping off the happy little Amber at school we made our way to the college for our first class of the day.
We walked in and took our seats as this was the Powersuit class. “Ok first of all those of you without sentinels will need to take a physical test. Those of you with sentinels we have already received your medical report and you are all cleared you’ll be making your virtual reality account. Those of you with neural sentinels just need to think about going to the virtual world and your sentinel will do the rest. Make sure your comfortably seated and those of you who need dive pods please choose one at the back of the class.” The teacher says pointing towards a bunch of egg shaped pods for public use.
I sit down in one of the comfy looking chairs with the girls next to me as our sentinels wrap around our body and start the transfer. They turn into our suit to protect us from any kind of malicious intent from the outside world and immediately wake us up if anything is deemed a danger to us.
It’s a weird sensation to be pulled into some kind of digital realm with your mind only. It’s like everything feels real and fake at the same time it’s mind boggling. My eyes focus and I’m standing in a white area with my refusal body wrapped up in a sentinel style body suit. There’s all sorts of different screens in front of me. Mails confirming purchases and class acceptances all sorts of status updates for my body health. Congratulations for binding with your sentinel and all that junk. It’s kind of like a little home area to check my mail and body status. A little invite pops up in front of me.
[Class 1-C powersuit training.] Accept invite Y/N?
I click yes and my body kind of warps to a different area.
There are other people appearing including the girls next to me.
The teacher at the front waits a minute until we are all done then starts talking. “Since powersuits are highly expensive we will be teaching a lot of this class using the simulator. For this semester you’ll be learning the basics about a powersuit all the parts and how to make it go. You’ll learn both manual and automatic piloting. Next semester you’ll learn how to use different parts of a powersuit like the tools and how to take them off and put them on. Third semester you’ll learn about different kinds of terrains such as space, planets, under water, and unknown environments. Last semester you’ll be tested with real powersuits and if you pass you’ll be given your T1 pilot license. With that you’ll be a certified powersuit pilot.”
With that out of the way he waves his hand and a regular powersuit appears. “Now a powersuit is just like a human body There’s 5 limbs. 2 arms 2 legs and a head. The chest is a cabin for the pilot to sit in.” He waves his hand and the chest splits in the middle and slides to both sides revealing a nice chair. “The manual models have a control panel in front of the chair these have a neural helmet.” He hops inside and the seat straps him in before a helmet comes out from the top of the seat engulfing his head.
“Now this helmet doesn’t just let you control the powersuit it also works as an emergency air source. Your cabin in always pressurized and filled with oxygen and in case of a leak you can use the helmet for air. However if there’s a severe enough damage to the cockpit you’ll most of the time be dead before that happens. However in the case that it’s not too severe all powersuits come with an emergency canister of sealant.” He points to a small white spray container in the top right of the cockpit right in grabbing distance. “This will work long enough to save your ass and get you to a proper repair point.”
“The first thing most people do with their powersuits is reinforce the cockpit. This is were you are and needs to be the safest place. Your haven. It doesn’t matter if you lose an arm or leg as long as the chest is intact, your intact. Now most of these are already coated in either star steel or some kind of variant to keep damage to a minimal in case of some kind of impact. You might be able to take a very small meteor to the chest no problem but it’s still advised to get some upgrades.” He says
