One night with the King - Chapter 108:109. Danger
They were greeted by a petite blonde woman with shiny still blue eyes. Jessica liked to take many forms. Today she took the form of a mother. It was all fun and games to her. She simply loved to explore her magic.
Her eyes were so blue, so icy even beneath the facade of niceness she put on. Dante didn’t wonder for long why Jeremy seemed to be so afraid of her. If she was a witch then she had to be one of the baddest ones.
“Jerry dear you came.” Jessica smiled sweetly.
“Mum Joshua is messing with my hair again.” A little girls voice rang from inside and Lora smiled. It reminded her so much of when she was little.
“Mum I’m not.” Joshua defended. They were both running around the parlour to Dante’s annoyance.
“You guys should go play in your room mummy has visitors.” Jessica told the kids turning back to give them the mothers evil eye. They did as they were told bickering as they went.
“Well come inside you guys look like you need a drink.” Jessica smiled. Her eyes locked with Jeremy and he looked away, dreading the blue of her eyes.
Jeremy knew that Jessica had no kids. It must be one of her tricks he thought. He knew that she had seen them coming. He wanted to leave but he decided that had to see this through. He was tired of being a coward_and besides Lora was here.
“Follow me.” She said.
Jessica led them upstairs to another parlour where there was a bar. The bar was the first thing they saw when they got to the parlor.
“So who wants a drink? I like to be a good host.”
“Under normal circumstance I would have loved nothing more than to have a drink with such a beautiful woman.” Dante started. Lora looked at him cocking an eyebrow she chuckled and shook her head. “But I’m looking for my daughter and I really have no time to drink.” Dante finished.
“So what did Jeremy tell you.?” Jessica asked Dante but Jenny replied.
“He said you were the one who helped him look for me when I went missing when_when we were teens_” Dante and Lora turned to stare at Jenny. They never knew that there was a time she got missing. Jennie did have her own secrets contrary to what they thought.
“You all may follow me then and Whoever you seek you shall find.” With that Jessica walked further into the room. Their was a stair at the corner, she climbed the stairs and they followed behind her, obediently.
They came into a wide passage. Then she led them further and further into the passage.
Lora was the first to notice that the further they went the more things started to look strange. It was as if the house was a chameleon that changed its colors when people got close to it.
“I think we should turn back.” Lora whispered to Dante. She was scared. The feeling of death enveloped her.
