One Piece: Gambling To The Top - Chapter 186
Josh took a deep breath, looking at the big volcano island he is in. Magma was everywhere. But the magma man was nowhere to be seen. Not to mention, he was concealing his presence.
Akainu had awakened his Devil Fruit, turning this whole island into his weapon.
“Come on. Show yourself. Don’t be shy.”
Josh’s voice echoed as he lifted his sword with one hand, and a seastone dagger with the other hand.
Sensing something coming from behind him, Josh used Shave and moved as fast as he can. He appeared on another spot, next to the magma lake, and he turned his head. What had just attacked his original spot was a big magma spike, which was way larger than him.
Akainu didn’t seem to give Josh the time to rest as the magma lack next to Josh exploded, creating a huge Tsunami.
Clicking on his tongue, Josh slashed up with his sword, creating a huge slit in the wave and flying through it. He looked down at the ground and thought that he needed a way to make Akainu get out. If not, he, at least, needs to sense his location. It was quite hard to do since Akainu can just turn into magma and blend into the island, making it the perfect place for Hide and Seek.
Two gigantic magma waves took the shape of dogs as they headed at Josh. Depending on his strength, Josh spun on himself, creating sharp air pressed rings that cut them. However, the dogs reformed themselves and headed at him. Even though Josh has high heat tolerance, if the magma pressed him, he will feel pain.
The demonic energy made an aura around Josh. It was brownish-red.
‘Time for gluttony.’
Gluttony was the hardest sin that Josh mastered. It required him to turn from Pretty Boy — Muscular version — into an ugly lazy bastard.
However, it is worth it.
“Devour.” Declared Josh as he opened his mouth.
The magma hounds headed into his mouth, which seemed to be like a black hole, and they were sucked in. The hounds vanished.
Josh swept his mouth, and he said. “Too hot for a meal.”
Somehow, he felt a bit hungry, or rather, his appetite was opened. Although he managed to devour his opponent attack, he felt quite a pain for doing so.
Akainu seemed to pause for a second, needing time to realise what he had seen.
Josh turned his head in a random direction and mocked. “I’ll wait for you to add some salt to it, Salty.”
“Damn you!”
Akainu was provoked.
Josh could feel his wrath as he felt the whole island moving. Every volcano exploded and the magma danced in the air.
Every bit of magma here raised.
Josh opened his eyes widely, feeling that it was becoming hotter and hotter.
Magma raised from everywhere, creating huge walls that surrounded the island from every direction. The walls had one job, to trap Josh and hold him from escaping.
‘They always forget, I’m a trickster before I’m a swordsman.’
It seems that Akainu won’t reveal himself, and he seems to have strong attacks to show each time. Josh won’t lie. He wouldn’t be able to handle it if all of this magma fell on him. After all, this island can host many towns and millions of people to live on.
‘No wonder Admirals didn’t use awaken during Marineford war. It can end up the war.’
As the magma covered the sky, Josh extended his hand forward and said.
“Well, it was nice fighting you. But…” He paused for a second. “I’ll come back later.”
Armament Haki created an aura around his hand. That aura was pressed into a little ball, which turned into a beam as Josh unleashed light. Once the beam heat the magma, it created a big explosion, capable of destroying half of this island.
Seeing a hole in the wall, Josh flapped his wings. “Adios.”
Magma was heavy, and Josh was so fast. He vanished from the scene and he no longer appeared. Since Josh has Assassination Talent, he could hide his presence, and Akainu’s Observation won’t be able to find him.
As the magma fell, it covered the whole place. A part of it started shaping, revealing Akainu, standing on the top of this raging hell.
Akainu’s face was swallowed. His body was covered in blood and injuries.
Akainu stared at the sky and screamed. “Fucking Coward!”
He had just seen how Josh flew straight out of this place.
It made Akainu more pissed off.
First, Ace escaped, and thus Whitebeard. Now, the little devil had escaped.
“Gimme a break. I just took a turn around the island.” Came a familiar voice from behind of Akainu.
Josh just tricked Akainu to think that he had escaped, so Akainu would reveal himself.
Akainu’s body was turning into magma, trying to blend.
Josh appeared in front of Akainu, and he stabbed him in the chest with the dark sword.
Akainu looked at the blade that pierced his chest and held it with his hand, pressing back. The darkness made him lose his power temporarily, and he realised that he needed to push back.
“I’ll take this.” Josh held Akainu’ other hand, and he took his Katana from it before he pulled his sword out. Akainu took a few steps back, not seeming to be willing to die as he stepped on the magma.
“Very well. You have outsmarted me again…” Akainu admitted it, feeling the heat of the magma as he stepped on it. Still, he could resist a bit through the Armament Haki he has.
The magma didn’t vanish, even though that Josh applied Darkness power on it.
As it seems, Logia users awakening is unique. It doesn’t vanish when the user loses his power, not to mention it changed the island.
Akainu’s will seemed to be getting weaker. Akainu thought how ironic it is, for the protector of the Absolute Justice to die by his magma.
“I, Akainu, had made my own grave. You won’t take that for me.”
“You why you lost…” Josh put his greatsword on his back, and he held the Katana’s grip. He stared at his one edged sword, and he smiled.
“You used this as a tool of justice in a swords fight,” Josh said. “You don’t win with a tool.” He then squatted, ready to cut Akainu in half.
Josh raised his sword, and he chopped down.
“Lucky dog.”
All of the sudden, he jumped backwards.
In Josh’s original spot, a light beam passed by him, followed by a huge explosion that made the magma fly in the sky.
Balls of light gathered in front of Akainu, forming a very tall man with a yellow suit. He was standing on the magma as if it doesn’t harm him.
“Sakazuki…” he said slowly, patting his glasses. “You look measurable.”
“Shut the hell up and pull me up… My feet are burning, Kizaru.” Akainu growled.
“I’m quite busy,” Kizaru said as he joined his hands together, quickly, forming a circle. From that circle, many light bullets flew out of them, and they moved at very high speed.
“You can’t do that to me!” Akainu screamed in anger.
As Josh appeared in front of the admiral, intending to attack him, he found himself facing a huge light storm. Each can explode. Nevertheless, it wasn’t that hard to stop. Josh extended his hand forward, and light formed a shield in front of him, before he waved the Katana, sending a sharp air arc, which the admiral dodged with amazing speed.
“Ice Age!”
The burning land started freezing suddenly. Akainu fell on the ice as he pulled his feet. Akainu looked down to realise, his legs were gone.
“Damn it….” Akainu growled in pain…
Shreds of ice appeared in front of them, gathering and making a lazy looking tanned man who said. “You look in bad health, Akainu.”
Josh raised his eyebrows as he stared at who appeared.
Shit. Three Admirals, and he alone. It’s not going to be an easy task… No… Akainu had lost his legs… But still, the Iceman and the Lightman are here.
Josh frowned, getting angrier and angrier. “Just as I’m about to end him, and you two shows up. What a shitty scenario.”
Luckily, one of the best things about Zoan user awakening is it gives you enamours physical strength and stamina boost. If they think that he is tired and not ready to go, then they are sadly mistaken.
[Ding, the gamble is complete.]
Akainu is out, it seems. Well, given the fact that Josh beat him up, exposed him to a large explosion, stabbed him, and cut his legs, Akainu is now crippled.
[Rewards are transferred into the system.]
[New Gamble is available.]
