One Piece: Luffy’s Big Brother. - Chapter 138

“I will destroy you, are you sure…?” Beerus asked.
“Absolutely…” Edam replied calmly and even nonchalantly, not giving a care to face off a God.
“…” Looking at him, Beerus stayed silent for a while before smirking with a rather disdainful expression.
“Too bad for you then, even though we call it a Core, it is the essence of Destruction itself. As a Mortal, if she goes on without the appropriate training, the result will be disastrous…”
Beerus said and stared at Edam waiting for him to change his mind.
But…
“…?”
To his surprise, Edam just stayed silent, seemingly reflecting on something.
“…” Although he was silent, his eyes were gleaming slightly.
“Thank you, Lord Beerus for your offer, but I will have to decline it, thank you again…”
And then turning toward Gowasu, Edam asked again. “Lord Gowasu, I heard that Supreme Kais know of a skill called ‘Life Transfusion’, is that right?”
“Uh, yeah, I do know of such an ability, the power to exchange your life for the other party, but why-?”
“Please, teach me!” Edam bowed his head down and said.
“Huh?!” Beerus, Whis, and Gowasu were all surprised while Goku and Zamasu were only curious.
“Hey, what’s up guys?” Goku, who had just had his fight, came and asked but was totally ignored.
“You… don’t you think you’re taking it too far?” Beerus said with a twitching expression.
“He’s kinda right Lord Edam, there will be no time to regret it after using it, please reconsider…” Gowasu said worryingly.
“You’re a goddamn divine being, I don’t know what type of divinity and how it is possible exactly but there is enough proof now, are you really gonna give up on your life so easily?!” Beerus exclaimed with a pissed-off expression.
“What a stupid reason…” Beerus snorted and looked away.
“Stupid? It might be stupid, I don’t know… but even though, you call me a divine being, I was raised as a mortal…”
“…” They were kinda speechless at that. A God raised as a mortal? What a weird concept, that was true.
“And like I said, I don’t want to use it, I just want to learn everything that could hopefully help in cases.” Edam looked at Beerus and then shifted his eyes toward Gowasu.
“So, please, teach me!”
“Lord Edam, this might take a long time you know and I don’t know if Lord Beerus will be willing to wait for you…”
“Hmph, that’s right, the Time Rings are good, this matter is settled now and I don’t want to wait any longer…”
“We will be fine…” Edam said and glanced at Yamote. “You can do it right?”
“No, problem, being back home feels good, my powers are filled to the brim, we can get back there anytime you wish, my Lord…” Yamote puffed his ċhėst and said confidently.
“My, my, what a complicated matter…”
“Anyway, Whis let’s go home…” Beerus said before yawning.
“As you wish.” Whis waved his hand as a scepter appeared in his hand. “Goku, come, we’re going now…”
“Ah, so you’re not going back with us?” Goku first went toward Edam and asked.
“Yeah, sorry I’m gonna deal with something first…” Edam said with a smile.
“Alright, come back on earth after that, I will welcome you with a feast and a fight, I promise!” Goku smiled and patted him on the shoulder.
“Yup, I will be stronger next time, in fact, I already got the hang of that Super Saiyan transformation!”
“Haha, then see ya next time!” Goku waved and went toward Whis.
“Good, now…” Whis said as he looked at Edam for an instant and smiled slightly. “Well, Edam, see you soon…”
…
“Mmm, what about the Core, Lord Beerus?” Whis asked as he maintained his flying speed.
“That’s not our problem… and in fact, I would like to see what he’s gonna do to deal with it…”
“What’s this Core all about?” Goku asked curiously.
“You don’t need to know…” Beerus said.
…
…
After watching Beerus & Co returning back to universe 7, Edam finally snapped back to reality and looked at Gowasu and said while rubbing his head embarrassedly.
“Now that I think about it, can I even stay here? I didn’t think about it, sorry…”
If even a God Beast calls him Lord then, he should have quite the position right?
Seeing his questioning eyes, Yamote just shook his head. Cold sweats were dripping on his back.
‘F*ck, how can I even tell you what kind of Deity he is, you wouldn’t believe me even if I did and you would just treat me like a fool and a blasphemer if I did…’
Seeing that Yamote was kinda uncooperative, Gowasu could only give up. “Umm, anyway, you don’t need to worry about that, since these kinds of techniques are essentially harmless, I can teach it to you…”
“Thank you and sorry for the trouble Lord Gowasu…”
In response, Gowasu smiled back kindly. “Don’t mention it, saving your lover and your baby is the most important, it would be really mean of me not to help you…”
At that, Edam was really touched by the old man’s words. “Thank you very much!”
On the side though, Zamasu wore a frowning expression.
“Anyway, let’s not waste any more time, the sooner you learn it, the sooner you can return and plan ahead to save your family…” Gowasu said with his hands on his back as he walked forward.
“Huh?” Gowasu and Zamasu were stunned.
“Should I call you Master?”
“Uh, well, I guess you can since I will teach you…”
“Okay then…”
“First you two wait here for a moment, I will go and retrieve something…” Gowasu suddenly said.
“Let me get it for you, Master…” Zamasu offered his help.
But, Gowasu shook his hand and raised his hand to stop him. “That part of the library can only be accessed by the Grand Supreme Kai, you cannot go there yet…”
After saying that, he continued on his way leaving both Zamasu and Edam alone.
“…” A very awkward silence filled the sacred plain field.
“Cough…” The silence was finally broken by Edam’s cough. “So… umm, you don’t like humans?”
“What…?” Zamasu glanced at him and said with squinting eyes.
“No need to hide it, your hostility can’t be hidden, I could sense it even if I was miles away from you…” Edam said calmly. “You don’t like humans…”
“…” Zamasu stayed silent for a while.
“That’s right, I don’t like them, such a barbaric type of living beings. The Gods granted them intelligence, and yet they just use it to create weapons to kill… even the most advanced mortal civilization is built upon countless deaths and slaughters… They don’t know Order and Justice, I… I despise them…”
A disgusted and crazy glow appeared in his eyes.
“Well…” Seeing this, Edam said. “You seem to have seen a lot of things huh…?”
“You have lived among them, are my words wrong?”
“…Have you only seen the darker side of humanity?”
“Pff Is there anything else to see…?” Zamasu replied with an ironic smirk.
“Yes, there are, because even though I’ve met countless disgusting bastards…” Edam said as he remembered the scums he met so far, be it celestial dragons, pirates, bandits, gangsters, etc…
“But… I’ve also met some very good people, my family, my friends, and even the woman I love…”
“… What the hell…?” Zamasu seemingly couldn’t understand what he was saying.
“Well, that’s basically what I’ve experienced…”
“…”
Eventually, Gowasu returned with what he went to retrieve and then began his teachings.
