One Piece: World Traveler - Chapter 3
Marineford – Headquarters.
The Marine headquarters situated in a crescent moon-shaped island that is composed completely of bricks and steel, it also has a huge harbor that could accommodate hundreds of thousands of ships, additionally there is a place for the soldiers families to live and that is the city surrounding the most conspicuous and towering Japanese-style like fortress that Aizen ever saw.
Gion noticed his expression couldn’t help but smile warmly towards her disciple.
“That would be your home from now on!” Gion always believed that even though the boy had an amnesia, he still longed to a place to call home, and she wasn’t totally wrong.
Aizen eyes reddened a little, at least, now he could power up without fear to lose his little life. After all, this was the most secure place in the planet next to Mary Geoise for a whole decade.
Seeing the overflowing tears that threatened to escape Aizen eyes, Gion patted his head a little consoling him.
The warship finally entered the port, and Aizen knew that his security from now on would be guaranteed. Bidding his goodbyes with the reluctant female marines, he followed Gion to the training camp.
The journey wasn’t that long, but he met a lot of strong looking marine soldiers that only show respect and awe towards his master which made him feel a little proud, as he stuck up his head up while thinking inwardly that even if he doesn’t really have some talent, he would use his teacher fame to live a peaceful life.
Gion who saw through his thoughts couldn’t help but sneer.
It wasn’t really Aizen fault, then again, when you found yourself in a world where a person like Kaidou could survive a 10.000km fall from a sky island, and you are pretty much sure that you aren’t the protagonist nor you are special, you need to start being pragmatic and think about a peaceful future life where even if there was a war that will burn this world soon, you could still make it alive.
The duo soon made it in front of a grand looking training yard. Gion asked him to wait there, and not much time after, he was convoked to a building to register his informations and validate his will to join the camp, only to be thrown in a trashy looking dorm.
He didn’t even have the chance to met his master again, he knew that she must have seen through his intentions, so she encouraged him using her ways.
“Sigh, she could have at least take me to her home, we’re master and disciple after all” Grumbled Aizen as he tidied up his bed.
“Tomorrow 7am in the central square, if you are late, then you could only blame yourself!” Shouted the marine soldier that showed Aizen the way while glaring at him, before closing the door.
Aizen was a small kid, so for the marines here, he was a mere nuisance. There were a lot of people similar to his age ’13-14′ that came here to train believing that they were some geniuses, in the end, they couldn’t even become normal soldiers.
Aizen sigh again while he lay on his bed thinking of way to ȧssure his life.
Sengoku Office.
A muscular middle aged looking man with a long, braided goatee and a mustache, a cap covers his hair coupled with a black-rimmed glasses and a white and gold full Marine admiral uniform that is adorned with medals was sitting there drinking his tea while inspecting multiple reports in front of him.
He was Sengoku The Buddha, the fleet admiral, the one even above the three admirals.
‘Knock Knock’
The door was knocked attracting his attention away from the stack of papers.
“Come on in!”
The door opened and Gion could be seen there, as she slowly approached the man.
“Good Job Momousagi, I heard about what happened, to destroy the pirates of the one-eyed demon in a full charge, as expected of you!” Said Sengoku with appreciation as he looked towards this young Vice Admiral. She was one of the vice admirals that have the potential to attain the admiral level.
“But a whole Island was destroyed in the process!” Said Gion with a deep remorse.
“It wasn’t your fault, those rotten pirates and their damn pirates era are the one to be blamed, you only have done what any dependable marine have to do in your place. Although it was a trap, it was an accurate decision!” Said Sengoku, for a person like him that look through the nature of the world, bad and good, are something they decide.
Gion was a marine with a full potential, if she was to be hindered by such a small matter, it would be a great loss.
Gion was silent for a moment, before she stated the reason she came here.
“Sengoku-san, I found a genius in my way back” Said Gion, if Aizen was here, he would have been shocked, because from what he knows he was never praised by his cheap master.
“To actually called a genius by you? what is special about him?” Asked Sengoku, he was very interested, he knew very well what kind of woman Gion was.
For her a genius, was at least in the same level as the three new admirals.
“He is 10 years old, a survivor from that ‘destroyed’ Island, had an amnesia, in a month under my training was able to increase his power level from a non-existent one to 110, has a crazy stamina and an insane regeneration, sword genius, but that’s not what made him great in my eyes!” Said Gion with a prideful hint, as she got even more smug looking towards the gaped mouth of the fleet admiral.
“The reason I choose to take him as a disciple because the first thing he said after discovering about my blunder and lost family, he didn’t blame me nor made a scared expression, rather he was mȧturė enough to think of a solution, he choose to become stronger to protect everything he deemed worth to protect! although, he started to show sloth the moment he felt safe, he is deemed to greatness!” Gion didn’t hold up in her praise, that even Sengoku was a little bit doubtful.
The Marine force was really in a bad situation lately, as other than the three admirals that showed monstrous talent, the other could only classed as subpar, and the fact that such a great talent appeared, it eased Sengoku mind a lot, but because of the series of the letdowns and betrayal, he couldn’t help but hesitate a little.
“You don’t need to do any favoring Sengoku-san, the boy in question is thinking that he is only an average person, if not even below-average!” Said Gion as she could guess that Sengoku was thinking if he should go full nurturing.
Sengoku was surprised.
“What do you mean?”
“You only need to let him struggle and made his way all the way to the top without any helping hand. The reason I didn’t want to tell him about his talent was all for the reason to mold him to a true powerhouse!” Gion eyes shined while speaking of her true purpose, if only they knew that it wasn’t that profound, she only enjoyed her distressed expression.
Sengoku was amazed, and was even more interested about this youngling.
“Let’s monitor him then” Sengoku also liked the idea. It was also to appease himself as he would seriously saw through the nature of the boy.
For him people like akainu, a justice maniac, Aokiji the lazy bum or Kizaru who hates troubles all have their defaults, but the reason they were still able to become admirals was their belief in the system.
It doesn’t matter for him what a personality the boy had, what he needed to see was that if the boy has that belief or not.
