“Bro! What happened!”

When Tanya and Virat came to inform Abhijeet about their arrangements for tomorrow they saw Abhijeet sitting on the floor while looking devastatingly at his phone, like his life was hanging on it.

Without looking up Abhijeet asked with a shaky voice “Did… she… Did she leave me Tanya?” Is she going to leave him? He is dejected but he was feeling very scared. He could not understand why he was not afraid of her saying no, but afraid that he was losing her forever.

Right now he felt like everything was finished. He didn’t even start looking up to his life with her and everything ended with no response from the receiver.

Is he feeling this way because of how Anna reacted? Is she really gonna leave him?

Even though his heart tells him that she doesn’t hate him but the anxiety in his heart that troubled him saying that something worse has already happened to him doesn’t let him stay in ease no matter what.

Tanya and Virat came forward hurriedly “Bro what are you talking about? What happened? Please calm yourself first, let’s talk about this on the couch?” Virat helped him get on the couch.

Tanya held his hand and asked again “What happened Brother?”

She is very sure that this is related to Anna and it’s something catastrophic. She has never seen his brother this way. Never. Even when Tanmay died, he was in anger, fury, desperation to take revenge. But now he looks like he is dying.

“I… I called Anna now, we were talking nicely till she suddenly asked me if… If I like her?” Abhijeet tells her in hope that this must be the reason for his agitation.

Virat and Tanya eyes widened with sudden surprise in their plan “What! Why would she ask you that suddenly?” Virat asked immediately.

“I… don’t know. She suddenly asked why I am asking her out tomorrow and right away next question was, if I liked her or not!”

Abhijeet replied again. Instead of feeling heartbreak he felt concern for her the most. But still he doesn’t have the answer for it. He felt very confused but afraid, afraid to death.

He noticed, Anna was disappointed from all those question she asked. Is it wrong for me to love her. She never wanted this. Does she not like me? Not even a bit? Does she hate this thought?

“What did you reply?” Tanya asked patiently.

Abhijeet took a deep breath and said “I didn’t know how to reply to her but the moment I replied she got silenced and disconnected the call. I called her again but her phone is switched off. Tanya I heard her voice, it was full of disappointment and sorrow. I felt like if I said yes, she would leave me. But I didn’t want to lie to her because of some unknown reason, I felt the desperation from her voice that she wants to know truth. And… And I also felt at same time like she didn’t want to hear my reply.”

He is still very confused about all this turn of events. But the very thing he wanted to do was, he wanted to see her.

“Bro I am sure you are thinking too much. Sister in-law isn’t like that. Calm yourself, she will come tomorrow. You can talk to her, she can take time to understand your feelings. Don’t lose hope we will talk to her tomorrow.”

The assurance wasn’t any help to him right now but the knot in his heart was getting tightened second by second “Hmm I will. She must be busy. I shouldn’t just come to the conclusion right away. I will talk to her tomorrow” He went back to his bedroom. He must be thinking a lot.
