Orc Hero Story: Discovery Chronicles - Chapter 81.1
Orc Hero Story
Dawn broke, and the morning sun gradually illuminated the surroundings. In this scenery, Bash and Zell were perched on the rubble a little away from the battlefield. Judith was nowhere to be seen; she had gone to the human army’s headquarters to make a report or something.
Bash and Zell didn’t talk much.
“What did he mean by saying I could become your wife, Mister?”
“I don’t know. But the Human Sage said it; there must be some method.”
“First of all, how did the Human Sage know the purpose of your journey?”
“I don’t understand. But he’s the Human Sage. So it’s not surprising that he knows.”
In Bash’s mind, Humans’ information-gathering capabilities had reached the realm of the divine. Starting with Houston, then Breeze, Nazar, the Humans who provided important information had bestowed knowledge and wisdom upon Bash. Among them was the man known as the Sage. It wouldn’t be strange for him to know something.
“Mister, what are we going to do now? The plan was to go to the castle, but it seems they’re dealing with the aftermath of the battle. I don’t think they’ll want to pay attention to us.”
“If…”
“Personally, I’m still curious about what the Sage said, that I could become your wife, Mister.”
A Fairy becoming the wife of an Orc. For both Bash and Zell, it was a scene hard to imagine. After all, we were talking about a Fairy. They didn’t have the concept of male and female, and such matters were irrelevant to them. Even if someone said Zell was going to be his wife, it was hard to imagine.
“Personally, Mister, I’ve been relying on you all this time, and I haven’t been of much help on this journey.”
That wasn’t true from Bash’s perspective. He had been receiving help from her. The lack of results was due to Bash’s lack of effort, his lack of knowledge, and some bad luck. However, it was a fact that there hadn’t been much success.
“So, if possible, I’d like to try becoming your wife, Mister!”
Bash pondered Zell’s words for a moment. She had been saying she wanted to become his wife, even saying it from the beginning of the journey. In other words, the proposal had already been successful. Then, it only remained for them to have sex, and Bash would undoubtedly cease to be a virgin. Although he didn’t understand the meaning of Sage Caspar’s words himself, he was the “Human Sage”. It was unlikely that he was wrong about that.
“The Dynancy Forest is near the Fairy country…”
“That’s right. It’s almost like it’s in the country, but the territory is unclaimed right now, isn’t it? Anyway, if we go, it’ll be a rare homecoming!”
The Dynancy Forest. The Fairy country located in a remote area had buffer zones where entry and exit were prohibited for Humans because they hunted Fairies illegally. The Dynancy Forest was one of them. Therefore, going there meant that access to other countries would be almost impossible. If Zell failed, they would probably suffer irreparable wasted time.
Bash didn’t have time. There was urgency. Although he had failed to pick up in this country, the last human woman he spoke to gave him the green light, saying, “You should be fine”. Based on the response, it was likely that if he went to the next location, he would end up having sex. But…
Bash looked at Zell. He had never felt aroused for Fairies. However, as a race, Fairies didn’t look bad. Their androgynous appearance could be considered feminine, and considering the possibility of having sexual relations, it was quite attractive. Moreover, Zell was one of the individuals Bash trusted the most. If such a Fairy became his wife…
“Right, let’s give it a try.”
“Then it’s decided!”
And so, the two decided to embark on a journey to the Fairy country.

In the light of the morning sun, Judith walked through the ruined city. It had been an exhausting day. Without proper knight equipment, she borrowed the minimum gear from the bodies of fallen soldiers on the battlefield, playing her role as a messenger by running through the war-ravaged area. Collapsing debris and flying magic brushed against her, and she couldn’t count how many times she thought she would die.
However, strangely, she felt a sense of joy. Perhaps because, as a knight, she had been able to participate for the first time in what seemed like a real battle. Or maybe… because she could fight alongside the hero who had once saved her.
After confirming that the monster had died, Judith returned to headquarters and requested instructions. She received orders to take a break for today, and tomorrow she would return to her homeland as a messenger. Probably, a modest celebration for defeating the monster that attacked the city would take place today. It would also serve as a tribute to the deceased.
So, Judith returned to the pile of rubble to invite Bash and his fairy friend. After all, they were the heroes who protected the human city. The warrior who continued to draw the attention of that monster head-on. No one would blame Bash for participating. Today would be the day when everyone recognized the orc named Bash. That’s what she thought, but…
“Oh, Judith!”
“Hm?”
When Judith found Bash, he had just finished preparing for a journey.
“Sir Bash? Are you leaving already?”
“Yes, I’m curious about what Sage Caspar said before he died.”
“Before he died? What did he leave behind to say?”
“That I should go to the Dynancy Forest.”
Sage Caspar. With him turning into a monster and attacking the city, the members of the Four Races Alliance were in an uproar and holding a meeting with grim faces. Judith didn’t know the details of the meeting, but if it was Caspar’s last words, it must be important.
“…Understood. I’ll also convey it to the Human headquarters later.”
“Hm? Oh, I see.”
Judith didn’t insist any further and just said that. The Dynancy Forest, the Fairy country, the resurrection of Gediguz… Judith didn’t have the wisdom to immediately see the connection. However, if Sage Caspar said it, there must be a connection, and the high ranks of the Four Races Alliance would undoubtedly see it.
“But still, Sir Bash, you’re peerless… Now I understand why Sir Houston held you in such high regard.”
While Judith delighted in the victory, thinking that there would be a celebration today and letting her guard down, Bash was alone, thinking about the next battle. Surely, it had been the same on all battlefields until now. It was called perpetual battlefield. It was something she would like to learn, but she didn’t feel up to it.
“Well, I wish you good luck!”
“Yes.”
With a farewell, Judith wished him good luck. After saying that, she thought, “Should I have seen him off at least outside the city?” but there was no way to take back her farewell. She just watched his back until Bash became no longer visible.
