Origin System - Chapter 23 Make Him Drunk
Jiang Chen woke up at the crack of down to a loud explosion-like sound. It came from the front of the house and everyone was immediately woken up by the sound.
“Who in the actual hell is making a ruckus?!”
Gu Ming who was snoring loudly suddenly fell out of bed and shouted. Jiang Chen’s roommates have been partying all night at the news of Jiang Chen’s victory. By the time Jiang Chen got home, everyone was down with stuffed bellies and trash all over the floor.
“I’ll go check it out.”
Since the headmaster said that she wanted him to reestablish relations with the other sect yesterday, he rushed to get dressed. Outside he was greeted with the headmaster and a girl who was wearing a core disciples robe. The girl was on the back of a crane which seemed like it was made out of pure snow.
“Jiang Chen! It took you over 10 minutes to get ready!”
“I’m sorry.”
“You will be taken by one of our core members, Wang Fang, to each of the sects. She will be doing the main job while you will be supporting her. Do you understand?”
“Yes.”
Although Jiang Chen wanted to say something really bad, he held back the urge. Since restoring a sect’s relations was critical, Wang Fang can be considered as the sect’s number one beauty. As every person may know, having a beauty do the talking was already the conversation half done[1].
“You may now depart for the mission. There is a total of 3 major sect and 20 minor sects that have broken the relationship with us. You have a total of 5 days to finish the task.”
Jiang Chen nodded and jumped onto the back of the crane. The crane immediately took off just as Jiang Chen’s foot touched its fur which caught him off guard.
“Holy s*it!”
Jiang Chen then proceeded to grab the fur in an attempt to stabilize himself. However, this action seemed to infuriate the crane and it began to speed up. This internal war went on for about 5 minutes before Wang Fang broke it up.
“Alright, cut it out! We are on an important task here and you two are fighting?”
“He started it.”
Jiang Chen pointed at the crane and it gave a menacing gaze at him as if it wished it can curse the hell out of him. The entire journey continued on in silence for around 4 hours.
“We are here.”
Jiang Chen opened his eyes at the words of Wang Fang and saw the immense ark that made up of the entrance. “Han River Sect” was boldly attached the top of the ark to allow people to see what sect it was. The ark spanned across the lake from both of the lands across from it with the sect floating on top of the water.
“Is this how the modern era’s Han River got their name?”
Jiang Chen knew now that the “Earth” that he was on was just the past of the modern one. They easily went through the security as they had their headmaster’s slate. The cool air inside the sect seemed to be completely opposite to the outside.
“Ah, welcome, disciples of Sky Divine Sect! As you may know, I am the headmaster of the Han River Sect.”
“Juniors greets Headmaster of Han River Sect!”
Jiang Chen and Wang Fang both cupped their hands as a sign of respect. The headmaster was a burly old man who seemed to be shouldn’t be having white hair but still does.
[Ding!]
[New Mission – Solve The Headmaster Of Han River Sect’s Problem (Reward – 100 Credit)]
Just as the headmaster finished speaking, the system sprung up with a new mission.
“This disciple came here to reforge the relations between the Han River Sect and the Sky Divine Sect on behalf of my headmaster.”
Wang Fang quickly got to the point of why they were here.
“Now, if the relationship between our sects was that important, wouldn’t your headmaster be here in flesh to do this? Something tells me that your headmaster doesn’t value this relationship.”
“I apologize on behalf of my headmaster as she is busy with her personal issues.”
The headmaster suddenly waved his hand and said.
“I’m too busy to bother with trivial things. Let’s do this. If you can help me with my problem, I don’t mind establishing a relationship again with the Sky Divine Sect.”
“What is your trouble, Senior?”
“I am having trouble recently with the amount of stress that is with the title of a headmaster. I can’t seem to even concentrate on meditation. If you can solve this, then our relations can be already established.”
Jiang Chen looked at the list of solutions that he can think of. Being someone who once lived in the 21st century, a wide variety of solutions can be found for stress ranging from 5-hour energy drinks to smoking. However, this was an ancient world that was probably in BCE[2], Wang Fang thought up of a herbal bath which was immediately rejected by the headmaster as he had already tried the method.
“How about acupuncture from a skilled master for the relief of the stress?”
“I have already tried acupuncture and it didn’t work.”
The headmaster sighed and continued to stare at the duo trying to see if they had a solution.
“How about I make a suggestion?”
Jiang Chen raised his hand and spoke out. The headmaster and Wang Fang both turned and looked at Jiang Chen.
“I have a liquid here that can solve your stress problem, however, has a side effect…”
“What is it?”
The headmaster had no choice to ask Jiang Chen as he can’t get his mind straight these few days. Jiang Chen took out a bottle and the label on it said “Red Bordeaux Wine.”
[Ding!]
[25 Credit Deducted]
“This is called Bordeaux wine. This kind uses both Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grapes. The taste of this is undoubtedly amazing and one sip and you will be hooked.”
The headmaster looked at the thing in Jiang Chen’s hand and tried to determine if this bottle will actually solve his problem.
“Give it here.”
Minutes later, the headmaster can be seen on the floor with a bight reddish face.
“Hahahaha! I can’t believe that I haven’t had this before! From now on, you can be my brother and when you meet any trouble, just send a message to me!”
“I thank the headmaster!”
Jiang Chen cupped his hand and bowed.
Just as they were beginning to leave, Jiang Chen looked at a pedestal that was situated at the corner of the room. It was an emblem with writing on it that said “Veni, Vidi, Vici.”
“Headmaster, where did you find this?”
“Oh, that? I found it in a ruin of one of the kingdoms we went through and I kept it. I can give it to you if you want.”
“I thank the headmaster!”
Jiang Chen smiled and gave a grateful look at the headmaster. He knew what the Latin words meant since he took Latin class back in high school. Fang Wang then quickly took him and left the sect as she didn’t come here for handouts. When they exited the sect, the sun was positioned high in the sky seemed to be both in the sky and on the lake as they continued to the second sect.
