Origin System - Chapter 24 The 3 Ruling Power
As Jiang Chen rode on the back of the demonic beast going back to the sect, he reminisces his old life’s history.
Julius Ceasar was a military commander before declaring himself to be dictator for life in 44 BC. Julius was most famously known for his military campaigns in Gaul and his famous saying “Veni, Vidi, Vici.”
These Latin words were carved into this slate and seemed to glow an oddly strange feeling. Although these words didn’t mean anything to Jiang Chen now, this slate will save his life in the long run of his cultivation journey.
“This slate should mean something if it appeared in the Han River Sect Headmaster’s collection. This could either mean that this can sell for a lot of money or is a useful item.”
Over the course of the last few days, Jiang Chen and Wang Fang had been going to the different sects to improve the relations between them. Only one decided to cut ties with them due to an unknown reason. There were all kinds of personalities of the sect leaders, from kind and gentle to straight out crazy. Upon meeting with these leaders, one would think the methods that they used to attain these positions.
“We’ve arrived.”
Wang Fang had announced to the sect ahead of time of their arrival back and the headmaster had awaited them at the landing spot. As soon as the demonic beast landed, it quickly changed its expression from peaceful to disgusted and used its massive beak to knock Jiang Chen off its back. Jiang Chen got knocked onto the ground since he was still thinking about the potential usage of the slate.
“Curse you, you oversized duck! I’ll make some foie gras out of you later!”
Jiang Chen shouted while patting dust from his arms and butt.
Although the attack from the demonic beast wasn’t able to hurt him, Jiang Chen was still embarrassed that an animal that looked like a duck was able to humiliate him. Wang Fang and the headmaster just ignored the ongoing deathmatch that was between Jiang Chen and the demonic beast.
“Well done, I heard the news. It seemed that bringing Jiang Chen along wasn’t pointless, right? Did this mission change your mind about him?”
“Yes, headmaster. Jiang Chen was able to provide assistance for the Headmaster of Han River Sect with his abilities. I will head back first.”
As soon as she said that, Wang Fang bowed toward the headmaster and quickly left. The headmaster turned to him and smiled in a weird way.
“Now then, Jiang Chen, I heard from Han Ping that you fed him an elixir that made him change his mind.”
“Ah, I just gave the Han River Headmaster some Bordeaux wine. It was nothing special.”
Jiang Chen quickly explained himself since he didn’t want her to misinterpret him blackmailing Han Ping with poison.
“I’ll forgive you for now. Be sure to stock on that wine for next time I call you. I’m sure that this can be good political leverage to bring someone on our side.”
The headmaster continued to smile creepily at Jiang Chen and seemed to be able to open his mind.
“I’ll make sure! Also, I need a few days off from the sect to go to Tang City.”
“Alright, but if I recall correctly, the tournament for the princess of Tang City’s hand in marriage also happens then.”
“Yes.”
“It seems you can’t suppress your urges as a growing teenage boy. Fine, I approve of the absence.”
Jiang Chen bowed frantically and shot an angry look at the demonic beast before leaving. What the headmaster didn’t know what that Jiang Chen didn’t want to marry the princess, he wanted the system reward for the mission and a chance to take a few things from the treasury of Tang City, something that the husband of the princess is allowed to do. When he got back, he was quickly greeted by his roommates.
“How was the mission?”
Gu Ming who had a perverted face on inquired about the days that Jiang Chen has been gone from the house.
“Are you asking about what happened in the mission or the girl I was traveling with?”
“Can you include both with detail, especially the latter one?”
“…”
“Come on! You’ve been traveling with the number one beauty of this sect for the last couple of days and you can’t even tell your brothers about what happened?”
“Don’t lump us up with you!”
Kong Mu shouted and seemed to be annoyed at the fact that he was dragged into this.
“There wasn’t any interactions between us so stop thinking about the stuff in your mind right now.”
Jiang Chen entered the cultivation room as soon as he got past Gu Ming’s questioning. He took out the slate and set in before him on the floor.
“Now, let’s begin. System, can you identify the item on the floor in front of me.”
Ding!

for visiting.
“Wait, what if I paired this with the Eye Of God? What would happen?”
Jiang Chen was hesitant to try since one mistake can end his life and he wouldn’t have a way to come back. However, supported by the power of curiosity, Jiang Chen slid his hand over the word “Vidi” as he used his Eye Of God ability and a piercing light came out from the word.
