Our Perfectly Imperfect Relationship - Chapter 1 Roaming Aimlessly
Somewhere in one of the dark alleys of Seoul,
“Get out! We don’t accept women with kids like you here! You can try begging every motel or hostel around here but they’ll just reject you! You might find luck without that kid of yours though!”
The bearded old man snickers at her as he slams the door shut. There was no mercy given and no sympathy towards the woman with a baby in her arms.
She was just trying to seek shelter from the rain and yet almost every place she went, she was either kick out by them or rejected harshly like before.
As she continues to walk around and find a decent shelter to take cover, she found an abandoned spoilt telephone booth right beside the convenience store.
It was small and dirty, with lots of broken glass all around but that doesn’t concern her in the least. She finally found a spot with a roof on top of her head and it’s free. Just enough for her and her baby for now.
She started to clear the broken glasses around her for a spot to sit as she cut her fingers a few times in the process. But she doesn’t wince nor make a sound. She just endures the pain and continues cleaning until it was comfortable enough for her.
“Baby.. I’m sorry you have to go through all this because of me.. I’m a failure as your mother and nothing will ever change that.. If I didn’t give birth to you, you wouldn’t have to suffer this much with me.. I’m sorry.. Please forgive this horrible and worthless mother of yours..”
Tears unknowingly form in her eyes as it slowly slides down her crimson cheeks as she looks upon the baby in her embrace.
Why does such a soft little creature like her have to suffer so much even though she just came out to the world? She did no wrong and yet she has to go through hardship caused by the people around her..
Lee Ha Eun gently caress the baby soft pink cheeks as she let out a small cute yawn before snuggling again into her warm embrace. The sight made her heartache as she felt immense guilt towards her baby daughter.
Why is this happening to her? Why is the world so unfair that they have to make her miserable like this every time she had finally found happiness in her life? Just what kind of grave sins did she do in her previous life to be treated this way now?
There was no way of knowing why and she wishes all of this was just a dream. But that is all she can do now. No one is willing to help her, especially all those people she trusted. She had even beg them to just help out a little but nothing works.
When they needed help, she was willing to give everything she has to help them out. But now that she has no value to her, they didn’t even think twice before throwing her out of their life like some trash.
She now regretted that she had ever helped them out. But there was no use regretting to it now since it can’t change the fact that she has nowhere else to go to. Worst of all, her poor baby has to go through all of this hardship with her when she doesn’t deserve any of it.
As Haeun was softly embracing her baby girl in her arm and cursing her dreadful life, a loud gunshot was heard nearby, startling both her baby girl and her.
It was common to hear this kind of thing around the area she was in but since she had never been there before, it suddenly made her worried and scared of her safety. She wasn’t that much worried about herself but more so of her baby.
This little angel was just born a day ago and to lose her after having her for nine months was not something Haeun was looking forward to. She didn’t give birth to this precious angel for it to be taken away from her right in front of her eyes.
So as Haeun was carefully standing up to find somewhere safer for the both of them, the sound of footsteps was heard nearing towards her and before she could get away, the sight of a man in full black suit stand before her.
