Our Perfectly Imperfect Relationship - Chapter 31 Like Cats Dogs
Minjung was about to strangle Haneul to death but Minjoon immediately stops her before she could even reach him.
Honestly, he expected it to happen sooner or later. They had always fought whenever they met and it’s always Minjung that was out to kill while Haneul apathetically enjoys the reaction Minjung was showing.
Obviously, anyone who doesn’t know Haneul would think that he was just standing there, looking at Minjung who was raging in anger. But little did they know that Haneul was enjoying it in the inside.
And since Minjung knows him well enough, she gets more riled up from it since that was his way of belittling her, with no way of her fighting back.
But of course, Minjung being herself just wouldn’t stay quiet and watch herself being shamed. So, whenever she wants to take revenge on him, she simply just make him a bento.
A bento that she herself will deliver to him when they have schedule together and also a bento that she makes sure he has to finish it.
Since he has to show a good example to other young idols and be a role model that people look up to, Haneul has no way of rejecting Minjung bento.
Even if he knows what in it, he had to finish all of it up and thank Minjung for being such a caring and loving junior that likes to take care of his well-being. So technically, they’re on each other throat literally every day.
Though they’re not from the same entertainment agency, they usually have schedules that somehow involve them together since they manage to fool everyone to think that they have good relations with each other.
So when they’re in public or in front of the camera, they act like the sweetest pair of friends but when they’re off-screen or away from people’s eyes, they act like a bunch of cats and dogs.
Minjoon honestly doesn’t know why they hate each other so much but what he does know is that they might come to like each other if they keep it up.
Though he never experiences it before he saw it happen to one of his staff at work.
The sales section manager was always finding fault with his assistant and she, without fail, always fought back for her rights.
But somehow one day, they ended up dating each other when they found out that they had similar interests and hobbies.
So, though Minjoon isn’t hoping for it deep down, he actually wishes that the same thing were to happen to both Minjung and Haneul.
He really wants this war between them to end and he’s pretty sure them dating is the only solution to it. It pretty much seems to be the only way.
And since Haneul is also kinda against his family, its actually a win-win situation. Also, they do look great together.
Now he understands why their management likes to pair them up together. They actually have a great image going on.
“Calm down, guys. I know you guys hate each other but that is not a reason for you guys to keep on fighting every single time you guys see each other. Plus, we’re currently outside. Do you guys wanna get film fighting?”
Both of them stayed quiet for a while to think about what Minjoon had said before agreeing that what he had said does make sense.
If they got filmed fighting outside, they couldn’t even start imagining what their companies would do to them since they have ruined their image.
And also, the number of jobs and commercials they are going to lose just from one video. That would definitely end their entire careers.
Though obviously, they’re just exaggerating the situation in their head they do understand that the consequences that will come out of it will be too big.
“Consider yourself lucky, you punk. I’ll definitely kill you the next time. Don’t think you can ever breathe peacefully with me around.”
Minjung glare at Haneul as she gritted her teeth in anger. She swore to put more wasabi and jalapeos chili pepper the next time she makes a bento for him. He’ll definitely be crying in pain then instead of showing that smug face of his.
“Oh, really? I like to see you try, Noona. I’ll be waiting.” Haneul smirks as he purposely emphasized the word ‘noona’. He knew that it would definitely make her blood boil in anger.
And true to his words, Minjung was just a millisecond away to swinging her Prara handbag on his face, when Minjoon stops her again.
This time, Minjoon wasn’t as soft as earlier. He gave Minjung ‘that’ look like a warning for her to stop while he’s still being nice.
Minjung understood what ‘that’ look meant and she immediately put her handbag back on her shoulder. She then clicks her tongue in annoyance as she gave Haneul one last glare before walking away.
She knew the longer she looked at his annoyingly apathetic face, the more she feels like killing him. So before she really does that and got killed by her brother in return, she rather walks away and leaves the two of them.
As he looks at his baby sister’s back getting further, he then turns to look at Haneul and sigh while shaking his head.
“You know, you guys should grow up. It’s time to stop fighting and instead, talk it out over a meal or something. Tell me, how long has it been? Just how long more are you going to keep this up?”
Minjoon ruffles Hanuel’s head as he softly chuckles. He actually found the situation funny since it’s kind of adorable. It somehow reminds him of something that happens with Haeun months back.
“Hyung… Are you okay? Why are you suddenly laughing? Are you that stress up that you’re laughing from me and noona fighting? Do you want me to accompany you to a check-up?”
Worried was painted all over Hanuel’s face as he looks at the Minjoon who was now smiling all to himself. He doesn’t know what could possibly be so funny about the fight with Minjung earlier.
“It’s nothing. You don’t have to get so worked up because of something like that. I was just reminded of someone. You know, I’m kinda missing her like crazy right now. And it’s just been two days that she’s gone. Pathetic right?”
He doesn’t know why but a wave of feelings just hit him right in his soft spots. He had actually felt like breaking down again but he realizes that he was outside and Haneul was still there.
Minjoon didn’t want to look like a pathetic guy in front of him, crying and all just because of a girl. That wasn’t his image and that was something he obviously won’t ever do in front of someone.
Though his sister was an exception, he swore never to let that happen again. It did make him feel better after letting it out but afterward, he did feel kind of embarrassed.
It’s as if someone was seeing him naked and the thought of that makes him feel quite uncomfortable. But somehow, he doesn’t know why he felt like it was okay to show that side of him in front of Haneul.
“It’s okay, hyung. I understand how tough it is for you. Promise me, that you won’t give up. That you won’t give up on her. I’ll be going now then. Enjoy your lunch, hyung. Oh, and please please, don’t fall for her schemes.”
Haneul bid Minjoon goodbye as he gave him a bow and left, leaving him feeling confused. Minjoon felt like there was some strange meaning in his words but he just can’t pinpoint what it was.
Maybe because he was just hungry that he was starting to make stuff up. He then sighs in relief as he tried his best not to throw up while he walks in the plaza and looks for the upset Minjung.
But as he was aimlessly walking around finding for Minjung, he saw familiar faces just a few distances away from him and honestly, he can’t believe his eyes.
for visiting.
He felt like his eyes were either playing tricks on him or he was actually dreaming at the moment.
Because no matter how many times he pinches himself to convince that everything he was seeing was true, the picture just seems too surreal for him to believe that it’s actually happening.
Just what in the freaking world was happening for Haeun to be standing side by side, arms linking and soft giggling away with Haeji. It just doesn’t make any sense.
Haeun definitely was hurt from the rumor and from the look of her eyes a few days back, he was sure she would kill Haeji if ever she got the chance to meet her.
So in what world did he had actually step in that things are happening opposite of what it should be?
As he stares at them in disbelief, the appearance of someone made him came back to reality. He quickly but calmly catches up behind them and pulls him aside to an empty corridor.
