Our Perfectly Imperfect Relationship - Chapter 5 Her Name
Minjoon was currently in the back seat of his Aston Martin Rapide with Haeun and her baby by his side. They were currently on the way back to his villa in Gangnam. His initial plan was to actually go directly to his family mansion and introduce her to everyone but he felt it might be too uncomfortable for her.
Plus, he didn’t want Haeun to be freaked out by his family. Knowing how they are, there was no doubt they would surround her in a flash like a group of piranha that just saw their meal. Not that it’s their fault since they have been waiting the longest time to meet Haeun.
To them, Haeun is like a ray of hope that could finally change Minjoon way of life. His life consists of mainly three places; his house, his office or their family’s private gym. Once in a while, he does go drinking to release some stress but he does so alone in some secluded pub somewhere in Seoul.
And because of that, his whole family was worried about him and his future. They thought he would live his whole life as a single soul with no hope of him ever building a family. Honestly, they have ever tried to put him in a blind date before but it ended more horribly then they expected and since then, they have given up trying to help him.
So when one-day Minjoon had actually said he wanted to get married, all of them almost lost their mind. They didn’t ask him any detail nor information but just straight went to start working on his wedding. His parent was searching up hotels to look for the perfect venue while his sisters start searching for his wedding suit and the most beautiful bridal gown that their future sister-in-law was going to wear.
They were all so busy and running around that the house has never been livelier. For once, Minjoon didn’t mind them being chaotic like that. But who knew their happiness was only short lived. When he came back the next day to call off everything, they felt their hopes shattered into thousands of pieces.
But even though then, they knew better that Minjoon was more heartbroken then they were. So they just gave him space and waited till he feels like opening up to them, which eventually he did. He told them how he had found the one, the only one that he will ever marry and the only one he wants to build a family with. No one else will compare to her and no one else will do except her.
He asks that his family would try to understand him and to wait for the day when he finds her back so that she can be introduced to them. With him being all honest to them, there would be no way they could possibly reject his request. And since he has finally find Haeun by some mere coincident, he knows he can’t let his family wait any longer.
“Haeun.. I know we just met earlier and this might sound like I’m desperate but will you follow me to meet my family tomorrow? I’ve promised them that I will introduce you one day and since I’ve finally met you, I can’t possibly make them wait for any longer. I initially want to bring you over today but I know it will make you uncomfortable by doing so. That’s why.. I thought I ask you first for your opinion..”
Minjoon was looking at Haeun with such earnest eyes that it made it hard for her to reject him. She understands the situation he was in and since part of it was because of her losing her memories, she thought she at least has to do her part in helping him out.
“Okay.. I will go with you to meet your family. Since you have helped me and my baby, it’s the least I can do to help you out back. But, will your family be okay if I come with my baby? I mean, I suppose they wouldn’t expect me to have a baby right?”
This huge question weight a lot on Haeun shoulder. She knows that in this world, no family would be kind enough to accept a widow as their child’s wife. What’s more a widow with a baby, a baby that is not their own flesh and blood. Will Minjoon family really be okay with her?
“Hey, it’s okay. My family is not like others and they judge people base on their inner appearance rather than their outer appearance. So, even if you were to be miss universe or some popular model, if your inner character is bad, they won’t approve you even if you’re the last woman on earth. Just trust me alright? They will surely welcome you with open arms.”
Though Minjoon’s words were short, it meant so much to Haeun. She felt like the weight on her shoulder were lighter than before and the nervous feeling she had inside her from the thought of meeting his family was now gone. His few words were like a magic spell that immediately rid of all her worries.
From the side, Minjoon was smiling. He was contented with his life at the moment. The love of his life and his baby was now by his side and there was nothing more that he could ask for. He just hopes that in this two month, Haeun will regain back her memories that she has forgotten and he will do anything to make her remember.
“Though this is kinda late but what’s her name? I realize you just keep addressing her as your baby and without a name. So, I’m kinda curious actually…” Minjoon caresses the baby dark hazelnut hair before softly pinching her cheeks, making her groan in her sleep.
Haeun immediately slaps his hands away as she caresses her baby’s soft cheeks and sways her softly to sleep. She then gave Minjoon a death stare who was laughing away softly at the side.
“Can you not? I know her cheeks are irresistible but that doesn’t give you the right to pinch it. So please, don’t do that again. You will make her uncomfortable you know! And to answer your question, she… doesn’t have a name yet.”
“I wanted to name her with my husband but he didn’t show up at the hospital yesterday. And when I thought I might see him at home today, we were thrown out to the street by one of his friends. It seems he owes him money but never return it and because of that, he took custody of our house while I was in the hospital yesterday.”
Minjoon can feel the pain she must have felt. She had to give birth alone and when she returned to her home, she was kicked out to the streets with nowhere to go. Just how much did Haeun have to go through because of that damn bastard? Minjoon swore he will find him and make him pay for what he did.
“Okay.. So why not I name her? I actually already have a name in mind. Kim Hyo Min.. It’s lovely, isn’t it? And she has our initials, H for Haeun and M for Minjoon. Isn’t it perfect for her?” The baby in Haeun embrace made a small smile as she heard the name making both Minjoon and Haeun chuckle in delight.
Though Haeun felt a little disheartened that his husband wasn’t the one naming their baby but she didn’t mind the name Minjoon had given. It was a ted bit cringey with both their initials in it but the name did sound nice. She felt it suited well for her baby.
“Kim Hyo Min.. Aren’t you happy you little thing? You finally have a name.. It seems you will be a part of the Kim’s family now..” Haeun smile as she watches Hyomin cuddle towards her in her warm embrace.
