Our Perfectly Imperfect Relationship - Chapter 7 The Card
Minjoon looks at Haeun oddly. Was she trying to be sarcastic or was she truly asking him cause she doesn’t know? Everyone in Korea knows his name and not one person doesn’t know how big the influence his family has in the country.
Even if she did lose her memories, she did live in Korea for the past few months. She was bound to hear his name somewhere or from someone. Unless she was living under a rock, which he highly doubt so. Nevertheless, he still can’t assume anything till he knows the full story.
“Well.. I guess you can say that.. Though I have to thank my great grandparents for passing down this fortune to us. Without them, I don’t think we would have this kind of luxuries. And I guess I also have to thank their great genes cause a face like mine would never exist without them. Our Kim family had it good..”
Haeun almost choked on her saliva when she heard what Minjoon had said. She thought he couldn’t get any worst but who knew he was such a guy that likes to self-praise about his own good looks which simply makes him a narcissistic. Though what he said wasn’t entirely wrong.
One can’t deny that he does have a crazy good looking face and with that body of his, it wasn’t wrong of him to brag about it. Cause if he didn’t, who wouldn’t? She was sure that everyone who saw him would shower him with lots of praises.
And with him being rich at that, who wouldn’t go crazy for him? Well, Haeun definitely knew the answer for that because it was none other than herself. Not because she was blind and couldn’t see what a hot man he was but because of loyalty and a vow.
“Okay, Okay. I get it that you’re handsome and rich but you don’t have to brag about it out loud. Just because you had it good doesn’t mean people do too. Now, I don’t mean to sound like a blatant person but can you show me to my room? I think I have to feed Hyomin soon..”
Haeun felt her chest was starting to hurt and she knows that was the sign that her baby will want milk soon. So before Hyomin wakes up and starts to cry for milk, she thought it would be better for her to settle down in her room first.
“Oh right! I almost forget about that. Come, I’ll show you to your room.” Minjoon starts to lead the way as Haeun followed behind him, quietly observing the whole house. She then notices the two staircases that they were heading towards.
One was going to the top floor while the other was heading to the basement. She didn’t expect the house to have a basement but she didn’t think much about it. She just assumes it might lead to a garage for Minjoon’s car.
But when she saw Minjoon going down the stairs, she was suddenly puzzled. Her mind was rapidly popping out question after questions that it made her head hurt just thinking about it. While she knew that she has to ask him where they were going for the pain to go away, she also knows that it wasn’t wise to do so.
She fell for his trick the last time she asks where they were going and she doesn’t want to fall for it again. Haeun rather endures the pain in her head then getting tease by Minjoon. So, she just kept quiet and continue to follow behind Minjoon with cautious.
Haeun was expecting to see the garage when she went down the stairs but she was suddenly blown away. In front of her was a full view of an open bedroom with a luxury minimalist design. The simple color palette of the room coordinated well with each and every furniture in there. It was definitely well planned out and carefully selected.
“So here we are at my room.. which, you will be sharing with me. I don’t actually have a spare room since when I design this place, I didn’t intend to have anyone over. If you’re uncomfortable, I can sleep on the sofa in the living room. The second floor is my workplace so if ever you need me but never see me around anywhere, you can look for me there.”
There was an awkward silence between them for a minute before Minjoon starts to pack a few of his stuff. Haeun was feeling bad when she saw Minjoon willingly giving his bedroom to her. Even though it was true that she did felt a little uncomfortable with the thought about sleeping in the same room as him, the idea of him sleeping in the living room didn’t make her feel any less better.
“Wait! You don’t have to leave.. The bed is big enough for the three of us to sleep in. I don’t feel good making you sleep in the living room of your own house while I get to sleep on your comfy bed. But, we have to set some rules.”
Haeun tugs on his shirt as Minjoon was about to leave the room. He was taken aback for a second, not believing that she didn’t mind them sharing a room together. So, he stood there in place as Haeun think up of a few important rules she wishes to set.
“Firstly, you cannot cross my side of the bed no matter what. Hyomin will be in the center to divide the two sides to be fair. Secondly, you’re not allowed to be in the room when I want to bath or change clothes. Since this room doesn’t have an actual door to close for some privacy, I need to take extra precautions because of that.”
“Lastly, you have to get out of the room when I ask you to do so. I know it’s kind of rude but you have to understand that this lady here has a baby to feed and I can’t expect you to be looking at me while I feed Hyomin. It will be kind of embarrassing for me. I hope you can try to understand..”
A soft smile crept on Minjoon’s face as he gave a nod in agreement. He didn’t felt the rules were too much for him to handle and it was only a matter of time before the rules will cease since Haeun will soon be his.
“That’s not too much for me to handle. That’s a deal then.. Since it’s already late, I’ll leave you be for now. I have some things to finish up so I will be on the second floor. You can go ahead and rest first if you’re feeling tired. And if you want to take a shower or need anything, just call the maids.”
Minjoon ruffles Haeun’s hair before turning to leave but he suddenly stops midway. He then went to his bedside drawer and began searching for something. After a while of searching and opening few drawers, he finally found the thing he was looking for.
“Take this and go buy all the things that you need tomorrow. I can’t accompany you since I have a meeting but I’ll ask my bodyguard to be around to keep you safe while you shop. You can leave Hyomin at home cause I’ve called a babysitter to take care of her. You just have to worry about shopping for the things you need. Once you get home, get plenty of rest since I’ll pick you up in the evening to meet my parents..”
Minjoon handed over a shiny gold card to Haeun. She has never seen the card before but she knew what power it has. It’s the rare VVIP credit card that only a few people in the country owns it. The card symbolizes your status and background, like an id. By just flashing the card, nobody dares to defy your words nor disrespect you.
Getting to finally see this legendary card and it was even in her hand, she felt like she wasn’t worthy to use such a card. What should she do? She’s really tempted to try to use it once in her life since she will never get a chance like this again.
But to get such a huge privilege for someone lowly like her, it somehow felt like she will sin greatly if she were to use it. She even felt like it was too greedy of her to use such a card that wasn’t hers. So after a few minutes fighting with her inner thoughts, she finally came to a conclusion.
“Well.. It will be too wasteful not to use it and since the owner technically gave his blessing, it shouldn’t be too much of a sin, wouldn’t it? I mean, what’s the worst thing that could happen? It’s just a card anyways..”
