“Thy art the source of light.” Polony, after offering his token of gratitude to whomever he was thanking, cursed at Leo and the others. “Don’t ever think that I’ll show mercy to those who try to defy us!” He raised one hand, palm open.

A ball of scorching fire took form. Polony expended a mass amount of his magic into his skill.

“Hey, ain’t that bad news?!” Liu Cheng steel himself.

“Die by my wrath!” Polony releases the ball of fire and shoots it towards Leo and Miyamura. Liu Cheng stood still, watching what the outcome will be.

Head-on, Miyamura, and Leo launched at the same time. Leo, using his Death’s Sword, blocked the ball of fire. Whilst Miyamura used his katana to do the same as Leo.

“Such futile acts are wasted!”

Polony pushed his ball of fire, even more, stronger than before. Miyamura gritted his teeth. The heat was killing him. If it weren’t for the healing recovery and his sturdy body, he must be toasted to a crisp by now.

“I’m amazed by the fact that the heat’s not affecting you!” Miyamura noticed that Leo’s not having a hard time dealing with the heat.

“I’m also feeling the scorching heat. It’s just that I have a high tolerance. Anyway, focus on what’s ahead.”

Miyamura noticed the slight change of expressions from Leo. Right away, he understood that he’s not the only one having a hard time. ‘Acting tough, eh?’

“You two can still smile after all that, huh?! Take this!”

Liu Cheng’s not gonna stand and watch his partner got to burn to a crisp. He fended off the Minima Flames, protecting not only Miyamura but also Leo.

“Thanks, Liu Cheng!” Strength surged from within. Leo and Miyamura felt stronger than they were, without a particular reason. Earlier, they weren’t able to cut the ball of fire because of the force Polony was exerting. But, after what Liu Cheng did, they felt superior.

“Don’t underestimate us! Ahhh!”

Completely, Leo and Miyamura were successful in neutralizing Polony’s Flame Redemption with their Anti-Skill: Neutralize.

Utterly, Polony didn’t expect Leo and Miyamura in resulting in neutralizing his skill. He showed no expressions, and two seconds after that, he realized something. He suddenly burst into laughter.

“My, my, it seems that I have lost it for a second. Anyway, I congratulate the both of you in finding my skill off.” Polony gave gentle applause.

“That was spectacular!” The gentle applauding gets louder and continuous.

Impatiently, Leo raised one hand, palm open. Just like what Polony did.

Whilst charging the ball of fire until it gets bigger, Leo cast flames on Polony at such speed.

“Skill Copying, huh? Interesting! Okay, show me whose skill is stronger!”

Leo paid no thought to what damage the Flame of Redemption will do to the island if ever it exploded or engulf Polony after succeeding in winning.

“Have a taste of your own medicine.”

Polony didn’t even defend himself from his Minima Flames. Thanks to his magical armor, it negated the flames before it even touches him.

“My armor’s made of magic itself. It has the power to negate any magic energy such as anything!”

With nothing but himself, Polony put a halt to the humongous ball of fire. Liu Cheng and Miyamura couldn’t put their astonishments into words. They stared, amused at what Leo was doing.

“This much is nothing compared to what Grim could do! You’re nothing but a mere incomplete successor. You don’t fit the role you were given!”

Leo smirked. ‘How foolish,’ he thought. He wanted none of this, the power he was given. The fate he has. Everything, all of it. All that he wanted was for her mother to be happy. He just wanted his family to be together again.
