Overgod Of Yggdrasil - 12 A Date Between Gods
~Present Day~
After finishing all the immediate tasks on hand, and leaving his children to their own devices, Lain decided it was time to attend an even more important event, spending time with his wife. Before he became an orphan, he had seen how cold and emotionless the relationship between his parents was. They didn’t talk much or even spent time with each other. When his mother died, his father only raised an eyebrow before continuing on his task, in a calm and indifferent manner. Since he had lived with examples of what to expect if he didn’t spend time with his wife, there was no way he would allow the relationship between Gaia and him develop to such a stage where they didn’t care about each other. He didn’t want his children to go through what he did, however, considering they were mature people, he doubts they would become as desperate as he was when his life collapse before him.
One doesn’t miss ample water until the well becomes dry.
Lain only understood when his father ‘died’ a few days after his mother, that his mother meant for more to his father than he thought.
The stress of being alone and raising a child had put him under intense pressure which was too much to bear, so he hangs himself in his bedroom.
With both his pillars gone, Lain lives on the scraps that the high-class people toss away, living the life of a rodent. Thinking about it made him miss his second mother, the old lady, who took and raised him when he had no one. A thought flashed through Lain’s mind, was it possible for him to bring her here? He could use magic and even his Rule Creator skill. If he spoke of what he wanted with the Rule Creator, she would be reborn or more accurately resurrected to his side, with nothing being able to separate them henceforth.
Rule Creator makes anything he wanted a reality, with a few exceptions such as destroying Yggdrasil, creating a new race, or breaking the balance of the game, etc. One example of what Rule Creator could do was time. if he wanted time to stop, it will, and not start unless he said otherwise. Because Rule Creator was a Dev skill, there was no time limit on how long the rule could take effect. There was also no cost for using Dev skills since these skills existed before Yggdrasil, so it would make sense that Yggdrasil won’t be able to impose its rule on the Dev skills.
Even though Rule Creator was an excellent skill, it had one major flawed and that was the number of rules he could create at one time. He could only create three rules at once, and if he tried to create a fourth one, he would have to cancel one of the active rules.
Lain didn’t even consider bringing his birth parents to his world if he could, because as far as he was concerned, they were not his parents. True, it might have been the environment that made them the way they were, that still doesn’t change the fact that they didn’t love him at all. It was more like they were going through the motions, of giving him food and shelter. It was like they were treating him like some kind of pet, the only difference was that the pets would garner some attention, while he didn’t. However, the old lady was different, she loved him as if he was her true son, which made his heart feel warm. The more time he spent with her, the more clear the concept of ‘mother’ became, which was when he gained a mother and kin.
Clearing his somewhat longing mind, Lain brought himself back to the present. He felt he need to control himself better, as he was forgetting the woman in his arms. Thinking about other things with such a beauty in one’s arms was akin to slapping God in the face, for wasting time creating perfection. Or in this case, slapping himself in the face.
Lain lean over and kiss her on her crimson lips as he marinated in the feeling of sublime bliss. When one has everything in arms reach one becomes complacent and forgets the meaning of hard work and dedication; which means they would not reach their full potential since their own vision limits their views. That was Lain’s current state; he had a loving wife and four great children, so what more could he hope for?
Lain shivered as he broke free from the delusion clouding his mind. Lain heart became cold and scared as he only realizes now why it was said that beautiful women were the downfall of nations. It was not that people were stupid, it was because they were stuck in a fantasy, which made them forget reality. Of course, there were probably a few stupid people amongst the many smart ones.
Hiding his emotions and sweat on his back, Lain examined his location and realize he was in the exact place he was when he had just arrived on Earth(Chapter 2). He was next to the large lake, which seem to have recovered, as there were many beasts close to the waters. As the beasts saw him, they walk around him, avoiding him as if he was some kind of plague. They approach Gaia and brush against her, before continuing on their way, which made Lain laugh a little inside.
Lain looks down in his arms and realizes Gaia has been staring at him for some time now, without saying anything. Her arms were wrapped around his powerful frame, with her large breast pressing softly against his chest, making his heart shake a little.
Looking at her, Lain knew she was fallen deeply in love with him; which was not a surprise as be had fallen deeply in love with her as well. Although he must say, he does feel some kind of surrealness of how fast they confessed and became deeply attached to one another. However, he knew he loves her and would do horrifying things to whoever dares to harm her; not just her, his family. He signed as he knew they had seeped into his heart, unknowingly occupied a portion of it.
Releasing her from his embrace, Lain held her hand as they took their first step on their first date. He didn’t realize as he took her hand that she smiles brightly that the brightness of the sun and stars were like a firefly before the moon; too insignificant to be used as a comparison. Just her smile alone could place her as the Queen amongst all women, no matter how beautiful, after all, she was a goddess, who possesses the charm of a loving mother.
The moment she arrived on the Beast Continent, Gaia felt like a rootless tree finding its home, making a feeling of fullness overcome her. This was just like how Raul prefer the Human Continent, the Beast Continent was her home. On a continent full of nature and beast, she was in full control and welcome by everything, from the ants crawling on the ground to the will of nature. From this, one could see why she is called the Goddess of Nature amongst other things.
As the two walk over the continent, it was like two ants walking in tall grass. The trees that surrounded them, were tall and resilient to most damage. They were so tall that sunlight couldn’t even flow through, to touch the ground.
Being curious, Lain tested the durability of the trees, confirmed it, even with a light pat from him, the tree still stood tall and firm, without shaking. It might not seem like much to unlearn people but to someone who knows their stuff, it was amazing. It was like seeing a flying pig.
At the end of the day, Lain was a Chaos Titan, maybe the only one in this universe, who has infinite mana and strength. A light pat from him could cause a full-grown elephant to become a meat paste on the ground. So for these trees to be able to withstand his pat, without even shaking, only means the trees were either indestructible or adaptable. He believes it was the last one since even indestructible was like a thin piece of paper to him.
After walking around for a few minutes, Lain realizes he couldn’t find any romantic spots. If he had used World Connection he could, however, he didn’t want to spoil the fun, so he asks Gaia to lead the way. He was not wrong in his choice of guide, as Gaia immediately lead them to a romantic spot, which was only romantic by their standards. Others would probably not find it romantic, no matter how hard and long they looked.
The place Gaia lead them to was an open plain with many holes in the ground. Around the area, one could see many tall and white muscular dogs that made dragons and tigers look like a light snack. Around the eyes of these dogs was dark markings that made the dogs look regal.
The dogs were lazing around, or running about on the plains, killing any prey they could find, which was kind of like bullying on their part. Most of the animals of Earth might be larger and stronger version of the animals on the real Earth, but they were still not able to withstand a swipe from the dogs paws. Lain had seen one of the dogs wag its tail and a lion that could have been considered a Lion God back home was killed by the wind pressures, what made it odd was that the dog didn’t notice it.
Amongst these huge dogs was an extremely giant one that made the others look like toddlers before their parents. The giant dog stood at a height of 20 meters and a length of 40 meters and has human-size fangs that shone with deadly light. The large dog all of a sudden stood up, and sniff the air, before approaching their location.
This was amazing because although they could easily see the dogs, it didn’t mean they were close by. Gaia and him were standing a few miles away, observing the dogs, which was easy for the two of them.
As he sniffs the air and gets closer, Slaughter smelled a familiar scent. He knew this scent like the back of his paws, since the scent belongs to his mother. However, Slaughter was confused as he smelled another scent next to his mother, and it didn’t small like Raul’s scent.
Reaching before his mother and the owner of the weird scent, Slaughter laid down and head-butted his mother. She smiled as she patted his head, making his tail wag and cause miniature tornados. However, while she pats his head, Slaughter was observing the male; as he felt an intense amount of danger from him. It was not that the male was hostile against him, it was just how the aura of strength surrounding him naturally too powerful. This feeling was like how a human didn’t know of the many ants they step on in a day. From the ants perspective, the human would have an aura around themselves that made them feel danger instinctively, which was what he was feeling. Of course, he didn’t believe the male had killed any of his children, so it could just be his instinct of self-preservation was warning him of the danger.
Just like how Slaughter observed Lain, Lain did the same. He could tell the dog was wary of him, and he understood why. Lain had come to the realization that he was extremely powerful to the point that he wondered if God could match him. Many wouldn’t notice this from just look at his body but those who do will fear him.
This made him quite unhappy to be honest as having such an exalted status was something he didn’t want. The only reason he wanted his authority to be firm was that in the event that he couldn’t use his powers and the NPCs rebelled against him, however, he could see for the most part that the NPCs we’re loyal to him.
Lain shook his head and spoke to Gaia, “Gaia, let’s go, we have many other places to visit.” Lain walked away, feeling a sense of desolation in his home. He shook his head as he signed, this will happen over and over again whether he likes it or not because of two reasons, his Supreme God title and his unlimited power. No one would dare speak freely with someone like him, as even his family didn’t. Gaia was just starting to speak her mind to him, but he could sense she would step aside for the more important matters as she didn’t want to overreach her limit.
Gaia pats Slaughter’s head and ran back to Lain’s side. She could be his sense of loneliness but she didn’t do anything but hold his hand. Words were sometimes useless when actions have more impact.
Lain smiled brightly and turn to look at the still lying down giant dog and point at it, causing a massive amount of mana to flow into its body. He didn’t stay to see what will happen, as he steps forward and disappeared from the spot.

With the words of the stranger to his mother, Slaughter, body shook as enlightenment flash across his eyes. The identity of the male was obvious at this point, he was the Grand Creator of everything, the great Lain End Chaos! If he thought about it some more, he saw that his mother was holding the hand of the man, and was acting quite intimate with him; so since she was married to the one above all, the stranger’s identity was obvious.
Slaughter became a little frightened at how rude he was to the Grand Creator and was about to apologize when he saw the Grand Creator turn around and pointed at him before disappearing.
He has thought the Grand Creator was about to slaughter him, as the amount of mana that came from his finger was terrifying. However, it seems he overthought things, as the mana seeped gently into his body, causing drastic changes to his body.
His magnificent form shrank and became smaller and smaller, while his power increase and broke through his innate limit and reach the level of True God.
If he didn’t realize this was a blessing and not a curse, he would be lower than a human. Because he knew, his eyes were filled with tears, as he was truly grateful for this boon. Many people only saw the Beast Lords as beings of immense power, but was that the truth? It was, however, the limit a beast could reach was a Beast Lord, as they would never become a Beast Emperor, a True God. It was also because of this reason that none of them, the Beast Lords, choose to create a divine faith because at most all it could do was increase their level temporarily.
Slaughter came back to himself and notice even though he was a True God, he didn’t have a divine authority, only an increase in his various attributes, which was probably nature’s way of separating beast from humanoids. Even though he had no divine authority he felt he could fight and defeat any True God with ease.
His vision became dark as even as he became a True God, his body was still becoming smaller which force him into a deep sleep.
As he was asleep, from the giant dog’s body, a small naked dogman emerges with two fluffy dogs ears and a bushy tail, which made it look cute.

Lain and Gaia arrived above the ocean, watching as strong winds cause huge waves. They didn’t speak as there was no point, a romantic outing should be spent in silence and in the company of your other half. Peace and quiet is a soothing melody that can wash away the sadness and sins of one’s past.
Floating above the ocean, Lain looks down at it with his golden eyes, staring deeply into its depths. As he moves his gaze around trying to find any creatures, he frowned as he couldn’t find a single fish! It couldn’t be that the ocean was lifeless could it?!
Gaia notices his gaze and knew what was going through his mind, she contemplated if she should say something before deciding to. ” Husband, you might not realize this but the world is underpopulated making it rare to see many of any given thing. The oceans are too big, so while there were more creatures in it than on land, it was only relative to its comparison. I would have solved this problem, as the Goddess of Life, Nature, and the World, as this was my duty, however, my divine authority cannot create life, unlike what the mortals believe, so the oceans and land remain underpopulated.”
To Lain, it made sense, as he didn’t have so much time to create billions of NPCs for Earth, so he could understand sparseness of life. However while he understood that, he became confused once more. This was the third time this has happened; the first was when he learned the Floor Guardian Assistant Function was installed without his knowledge, the second time was when he learned a new term called Divine Faith, and now was this thing called Divine Authority. While he knows what the first one was, the others were just a blur in his mind.
Divine Faith he once speculated existed because of his title of Supreme God, which made sense since he saw the temples and churches all around, however it seems he might be wrong.
He looks at Gaia and wonders if he could trust her; considering their feelings for one another, he chose to trust her, as he wouldn’t lose anything if she did betray him, other than her and their love. “Gaia explain divine faith and divine authority for me.”
Gaia seem surprised but still compiled.(Divine Faith and Divine Authority were already explained many times, I don’t feel like explaining it again.)
They flew across the ocean, taking in the views. They saw a huge turtle floating on the surface of the ocean, they saw the sea dragons and few other sea creatures. They saw and discovered many things, including a barren continent. In their moment of adventure, they even discovered a barren continent which had one sole flower on it, a beautiful woman that Lain notice look like Gaia, except for having blond hair instead of the blue one and having no horns. Gaia explained that she was one of her priestesses.
After observing her for a while, they learned of her purpose, so Gaia took out a tree branch type wand from her inventory and wave it, casting a tenth tier spell call, [Fertile Earth], which is not an attack spell, but a support spell that has no real effect in Yggdrasil. Since Yggdrasil was a game that allows almost complete freedom of occupations, there were many useless spells that were created.
This spell made the earth more healthy and able to grow many rare plants that could be used for Alchemist potions or rearing animals. The imagination is the limit.
Waving her wand, a green beam of light wash over a large patch of land before disappearing. Seeing this, Gaia nodded and said, “Although I can’t terraform the entire continent without my divine authority over nature, this is good too. With this, she will be able to slowly change the continent, creating the fourth liable continent of Earth.”
Lain nodded as they left the continent, which will later be called Nature Continent.
After knowing everything and learning that level one hundred beings called gods, Lain oddly became more open and easy around Gaia, which seem to put her at ease. Because of the knowledge she gave him, he changes a rule to allow teleportation as long as one knew the spell and reaches Saint-level(80), they can also world travel to any world other than Golden Nation, only DemiGods and above can go there.
The changes could be felt immediately across the World Tree and people took the opportunity to leave their worlds, before the rule change again.
Continuing their ocean adventure, they discovered an ocean city below the ocean, which was only found because he changed the rule of teleportation. Seeing how well designed the city was and plus with the fact that there were no sea gods, Lain turn Malakai into the God of the Oceans, whose divine authority was the inhabitants of the ocean. However, because Lain was in a whimsical mood, he made it so no one other than Gaia and him knew there was an Ocean God, even the God himself.
Gaia had seen the entire process of how a DemiGod became a True God from a whim of her husbands, and was wondering if he could turn anyone into a True God? If he could, that mean they actually had a chance against THAT world. However, she became disappointed when she learns that a person must already be on the crisp of becoming a god for him to promote them. Of course, that was a lie but no one needs to know that. He could indeed turn someone into a god if he wanted, however, if the person was not able to withstand his mana, they would die, so only a strong person could become a God. Lain did notice even though he could create as many gods as he wanted, he seems to become weaker every time, it was a vague feeling but he felt it, so he decides unless it was necessary he won’t make any more gods.
The two left behind the ocean and blend into the Alliance Continent, taking in the brittleness of this place. They had seen demihumans fighting each other, in the middle of the streets of one of the clan cities. No one cared as they went on their business. They didn’t stop the fight either because the demihumans here all went and left the haven which was the Human Continent for this place. Although he came to accept the fact he was the Grand Creator, he wouldn’t stoop as low as forcing people to do as he wishes.
While on the continent, they visited the twelve great clans, seeing how powerful they were compared to the demihumans of nonhumans in smaller clans. They seem power-hungry and less united though as compared to the smaller clans.
Of the twelve great clans, Lain like the Fox Clan and the Troll Clan, these clans seem to be brimming with potential, especially the Fox Clan. If the Fox Clan went and visited the other worlds, many DemiGods would be born for it, who knows maybe Gods as well. The Troll Clan seem to be concealing itself, as it was waiting for a moment to unleash its brilliance to the world.
As they were visiting all these clans, the moment he looks at the Mallya Clan, he had the urge to slaughter them, making him wondering why? It seems it was not just him, even Gaia was uncomfortable as she looked at them. They didn’t know the reason for this so they left as the longer they stay the more they want to kill them.
They then visited the Human Continent which was extremely refreshing for Lain, as no one was killing each other or any of the things he saw on the Alliance Continent.
People were living their lives and getting by, making the city they saw look prosperous. The streets were packed with people of all status and race, they all came socialize breaking the barrier of Demihumans being hated by humanoids and Hetermorphs being attacked by both groups. It made him happy to see that, which made him cry a little.
It seems true peace only emerges when no one is looking at one’s body but at their nature and soul. We are all different, which makes us who we are, just because someone is different doesn’t mean you should treat them less than how you would want to be treated because to them, you are also different.
