Overlord: Multiverse - Chapter 28: Yggdrasil XXVI
We kept working on the traps for the 8th floor over the coming days. It took us 2 weeks to complete all of them. In the end, we had over 20 types of traps, including;
Teleportation Trap: Transport intruders to an unknown or dangerous location when triggered.
Web Trap: Ensnaring webs are released, immobilizing anyone caught within. They could contain poison or other harmful substances.
Explosive Trap: Detonates an explosion when triggered, causing damage.
Mind Control Trap: Uses magic to control or influence the actions of intruders.
Summoning Trap: Summons additional enemies or creatures to attack intruders.
And many more.
Punitto: “We’re finally done!”
Momonga: “Only you guys are done. I now have to go and configure all the traps.”
I spoke with despair in my tone.
Garnet: “I have news that will make you cheerful, Momonga-san.”
Momonga: “What is it?”
I spoke with curiosity in my tone.
Garnet: “I want your help in designing my NPC. And in return, I will help you with the traps.”
Everyone in the guild knew about Momonga’s passion for the NPCs. If Tabula was known as the setting maniac, then Momonga was known as the NPC Nut.
Momonga: “Deal!”
Garnet: “Should we get started then?”
I nodded, and we teleported to the 9th floor using the Ring of AOG.
Punitto: “Momo sure loves creating NPCs. Maybe I should also make an NPC.”
~Scene Change~
Garnet and I appeared in his room on the 9th floor of Nazarick. Well, calling it a laboratory would have been more appropriate.
It was filled with mechanical parts, automatons’ bodies, data crystals, etc.
Momonga: “So, what kind of NPC do you want to make?”
I took it upon myself to ensure my presence whenever a new NPC was created and to actively participate in shaping their creation process. I wanted all the NPC to rever me when transferred to the new world.
I could have changed their Flavoure Text, and I would do that. But this was also important for another reason.
When an NPC was created, specific details, such as the name of its creator, became immutable and could not be altered.
So, I wanted to add my name as their creator as well. I could change it using a World Item, but why waste it.
Garnet: “I want to create an automaton.”
Of course, I knew what kind of NPC he wanted to create. In the original series, CZ2128 Delta or Shizu was created by Garnet. Her level was also on the lower end.
Momonga: ‘But, I will make sure to make her OP.’
Momonga: “An automaton, huh?”
Garnet: “Yeah, she will also be a part of the Pleiades Battle Maids.”
Momonga: “Right. Let’s get started with her appearance.”
We spent a long time designing her appearance. She had a short stature and long, straight red hair. She had an eyepatch over her left eye, while her right eye had an emerald colour and a target mark on the pupil.
Her face was delicate as if it was artificially crafted by hand. She wore accessories with military camouflage patterns. While her face is beautiful, she does not show her emotions.

Garnet: “She looks so cute!”
Momonga: “She sure does. Have you thought about her build?”
Garnet: “I want her to be a soldier.”
Momonga: “Right. I would suggest focusing less on her racial levels and devoting more effort to her job classes.”
Garnet: “Got it. Do you have any suggestions?”
Momonga: “Let’s see. I recommend considering Automaton, Arcane Construct, and Morphic Automaton as potential racial class options for her. As for her job classes, I recommend Machine Soldier, Gunner, Adept Gunner, Sniper, Demolition Expert, Drone Operator, Heavy Weapon Operator, and SpecOps Agent.”
Garnet started scratching his head and sent an embarrassed emoji.
Garnet: “That sounds like a lot of Data Crystals. And the classes you suggested sound cool, but I’m afraid I’ll go broke if I indulged in them.”
Momonga: “Don’t worry about the Data Crystals or Data Levels. I’ll give you mine, and in return, I want you to add me as her creator and a few lines in her Flavoure Text.”
Garnet: “Are you sure, Momonga-san. You have to configure the tarps, remember.”
Momonga: “Don’t worry, I have more than enough.”
Garnet: “Thank you, Momonga-san. Please tell me what lines you want me to add in her Flavoure Text?”
Momonga: “Just add that she sees NPCs created by Momonga as her sisters. She loves Momonga very much and sees him as an excellent commander.”
Garnet: “Just this much?”
Momonga: “You can add more if you want.”
Garnet: “You got it, boss.”
Then, we conversed a while longer before going to the 8th floor to configure the traps.
~Scene Change~
It took us a few days to configure the traps. Now, the 8th floor was ready. But there was still a lot to do, like making guardians, creating mechanisms for pop monsters, bringing monsters from the outside, etc. But for now, I decided to work on my successive variant.
For this variant, I decided to play as a Dragon. Typically, Players couldn’t play as one, but with the latest update, the devs added the possibility of playing as one. They didn’t announce it in the patch notes.
But, because I had the System, I knew about the existence of the ‘Dragon’ racial class.
First, I needed to play as a Dragonoid and reach level 100. I had to unlock a specific set of classes to unlock the dragon racial class.
Momonga: “Let’s get started.”
I had already gathered the required corpses for the ‘Alteration Invocation’ skill.
[The skill ‘Altering Invocation’ has been used, and all the necessary conditions have been fulfilled.]
[Congradulations for unlocking a new variant.]
[Race: Doppelganger(12 Variants) -> Doppelganger(13 Variants)]
I didn’t pay much attention to my appearance and chose the default form. For the second requirement, I had to allocate the majority of my stat points to augment my MP.
I used the ‘Experience Core’ to raise my level to 25. After augmenting my MP, I teleported to the first floor and started killing the undead with magic.
[Available Job Class(s): Arcanist, Wizard, Mage, Primitive Sorcerer]
I needed to choose Primitive Sorcerer and level it up to the maximum. This class only becomes available when a dragonoid of level below 30 kills enemies with MP, not with spells.
After choosing it, I levelled it up to 15. Then, I needed to kill a set number of draconic-type monsters with this class. I switched to my Demon variant and flew away from Nazarick.
Draconic-type monsters spawned frequently in Jotunheim. I needed to travel to Jotunheim to kill the draconic-type monsters.
~Scene Change~
It took me some time to reach Jotunheim. It had massive forests, sky-touching mountain ranges, and many other sights.
Draconic-type monsters spawned more frequently in the middle of the realm. So, I kept flying until I began seeing them.
I landed in a clearing in a forest and switched to my Dragonoid variant. It took me a few minutes to find the first monster. I used one of the spells from the ‘Primitive Sorcerer’ job class.
Momonga: “*Draconic Roar*!”
[MP: 35 -> 28]
An invisible wave exited my hand and travelled toward the monster. It dealt Physical-Type Damage to the enemy, even though it was a spell.
The wave struck the monster, and it disappeared into motes of light.

[EXP have been ….]
I walked over to the loot dropped by the monster, picked it up and ventured inside the forest. I kept travelling in the wilderness for an hour and killed 25 monsters.
To unlock the next job class, I needed to kill 500 of them.
Momonga: “This will take a while.”
I kept killing the Draconic-type monsters for the next two days.
Momonga: “Finally!”
After killing the last monster needed, I checked my console for the new job class.
[Available Job Class(s): Arcanist, Wizard, Mage, Draconic Annihilator]
I chose the last job class and levelled it up to 10. Now, I needed to repeat the process of killing Draconic-type monsters. And this time, I needed to kill 1,000 of them.
A silver lining was that by killing so many monsters, I managed to amass a significant amount of monster data, which proved valuable for both my summoner variant and Nazarick.
I continued my massacre of the monsters for the next 5 days.
[Congradulations on defeating level 20 …..]
[Effects of …]
[EXP have been ….]
I was standing beside a river.
Momonga: “Let’s check the job class.”
This was the last job class I wanted for the build.
[Available Job Class(s): Arcanist, Wizard, Mage, Draconic Nemesis]
I chose the last one and levelled it up to 5. Now I have these classes;
Dragonoid(15), Primitive Sorcerer(15), Draconic Annihilator(10), and Draconic Nemesis(5).
Momonga: “Time for the next step.”
Next, I had to kill and eat a set number of dragons. I switched to my Demon variant and flew out of the forest. Now, I needed to go to “Niðavellir.”
~Scene Change~
I entered a cave on one of the mountains of Niðavellir. I was hoping to find a dragon in there.
I continued venturing deep into the cave, and before long, I saw a dragon sleeping at the end of the cave.
Momonga: “Let’s get started.”
Without wasting time, I used a spell from the ‘Draconic Nemesis’ job class.
Momonga: “*Boost Widen Extend Magic: Dragon Slaying Field*.”
[MP: 60 -> 50]
It was a 7th-tier spell able to manifest a domain around me. Inside it, all draconic-type monsters would suffer a massive debuff in their states.
The red-coloured domain engulfed the sleeping dragon. Before the dragon woke up, I started casting buffing spells on myself.
Momonga: “*Draconic Might*, *Draconic Agility*, *Draconic Hardening*, *Mantle of Chaos*, *Anti Draconic Seal*, *Blessing of the Titans*.”
[MP: 50 -> 40]
As the field engulfed the dragon, it began to wake up. I lunged toward the dragon and punched it in the head. It fell down but was able to hit me with its tail.
I flew back and hit the wall.
[HP: 49 -> 43]
I got up, lunged at the dragon again, and kicked it on top of his head. Its head struck the ground. Because of the field, it became sluggish.
Without waiting, I used a 7th spell.
Momonga: “*Anti Draconic Sword*.”
[MP: 40 -> 30]
A bright red giant ethereal sword manifested into my hand. Even though I was a magic caster, I could wield it.
This sword was able to deal a massive amount of damage to draconic-type monsters.
I held the sword in both hands and slashed it at the neck of the dragon. As it struck the dragon’s neck, I received the kill notification. I collected the loot and deactivated all the buffing spells.
I walked over to the dragon’s resting place, sat down, and started a fire. I needed to cook and eat its meat to unlock the new racial class.
I cooked all its meat and ate it. And now I had to do it for 499 times.
Momonga: “~Sigh~”
I got up and left the cave in search of a new target.
