Overlord: Multiverse - Chapter 33: Yggdrasil XXXI
I took out the raw materials from my inventory and started crafting the items. Like crafting golems, I needed schematics for the things I wanted to create.
And if I wanted to add more effects to the item, I could use Data Crystals.
For the first set of items, I made trinkets with different resistances. For example, a ring that made the wearer immune to poison and acid.
Each trinket was made for a specific NPC, keeping their weaknesses in mind. All the items were of Divine Class.
It took a lot of precious materials to make them. But I was done with their crafting in an hour.
The next set of items contained buffing/protective gear. Each item was geared toward buffing a single or multiple stats.
Like in the case of the buffing gear for Fenris, I made her locket that buffed her HP and Defense stats.
The last set of items contained their primary weapons. They were unique to every single one of them.
For Fenris, I crafted a pair of gauntlets that buffed her Physical Damage by 15%; they had a unique ability that allowed her to ignore some of the enemy’s defenses, etc.

I crafted 30 short knives for Felicity. They were able to one-hit anyone once an hour. They also buffed her Attack states.

Elara received a staff that allowed her to reduce the MP cost of magic and increase her MP recovery rate.

Aurora got a sword; it was capable of healing her when she landed a hit on her opponent, the ability to cut magic constructs, and the ability to ignore some of the enemy’s defense.

For Malenia, I crafted her iconic sword from Elden Rings. It was able to negate the defenses of any being of light. It also increased her damage with each successful hit on her opponent.
Hermione got a witch hat that increased her Physical Damage and her Agility.
After equipping the NPCs with their items and storing the surplus in their residences, I completed the bulk of NPC work.

Momonga: ‘Only 4 years are left till the server shutdown.’
I had enough time to complete all my desired builds and to find and horde rare items. Every day, when I start playing Yggdrasil, I buy every item in the cash shop.
This doesn’t affect other Players because each Player has their own limit of how many items they can buy daily.
I had recently used ‘Ouroboros’ to request the devs to put a ‘Soul’ stat for my Dragon variant. This alteration didn’t disrupt the game’s balance, so they accepted my proposal.
Now, with the completion of the Dragon variant, I had 3 broken character builds.
The first one was the World Champion character Build. Followed by the World Enemy character build and the Dragon character build.
My Dragon variant was the strongest. At level 100, I had 3 stats above 100.
Even though my Dragon variant was the strongest, it had the most weaknesses of all my other variants. Those included increased damage from knight-type enemies, increased damage from beings of light, huge debuffs in the human and demi-human realms, etc.
I could cope with these weaknesses by using items. But that wasn’t my central focus right now.
My central focus was to complete the 11th Floor, the Grotto Sanctums. Even though I had finished designing everything, I still had to add the spawning of different monsters, a day/night cycle, weather, seasons, etc.
Some of those things would take little time, but some would take considerable time to finish.
I was currently standing on the floating island. It had the ability to move around the floor.
Momonga: “Let’s get started.”
I added the day/night cycle functionality, seasons, and weather. Because I wanted to add eclipses, supermoons, etc., it would take a considerable sum of Data Crystals.
It took me 3 days to implement everything. Ultimately, the Floor had over 10 weather conditions, all 4 seasons, and eclipses.
The next step was to add monsters/rare creatures to the Floor. I could use the World Item from the 8th Floor for this purpose, but that item didn’t have all the desired features.
Fortunately, another World Item had the same functionality but a few changes. But the problem was it was in the possession of a Human guild.
Momonga: ‘I could buy it from them.’
I was floating above the sea on the 11th Floor.
Momonga: ‘I might need to trade in another World Item for that.’
I intended to collect all the World Items in Yggdrasil, but if I shared even one with another guild, I’d lose the chance to gather them all.
After searching through the list of the World Items, I came across one capable of even duplicating other World Items.
Its name was ‘Loki’s Mimicry,’ a part of the Twenty.
After getting its location, I used the Ring of AOG to teleport to the 1st Floor. I switched to my Demon variant and flew away from Nazarick.
~Scene Change~
In a small hall, a few human Players were arguing with each other.
???: “I say we raid that dungeon today!”
A female Player with ordinary features spoke in a shrill tone. Her name was Pancy.
???: “I agree; we must gather enough materials for our armor.”
A male Player with grey hair and wrinkles on his face spoke with a deep tone. His name was Jack.
???: “I don’t think that’s the best way to spend the valuable time. I say we wait for the other guilds and raid the big dungeon.”
A male Player with a youthful appearance spoke. His name was Mark, and he was the leader of the Yggdrasil Sentinels. Which was a small Human guild.
???: “I agree with Mark’s decision.”
A man with ordinary features spoke with boredom in his tone. His name was Matt.
They argued for a few minutes before the leader received a notification.
[Player ‘Momonga’ has sent you a friend request. [Accept] [Reject]]
Mark: ‘Why do the name sounds familiar. Do I know them?’
After waiting a few seconds, he chose the [Accept] option. A few seconds after accepting the request, he received a message.
…
Momonga: “Hello, fellow Player.”
Mark: “Do I know you?”
Momonga: “I beleive not. But I’ve heard that you have something that I need.”
Mark: “Is that so? Might I ask what that item is?”
Momonga: “Certainly, I want the World Item ‘Loki’s Mimicry,’ and I am willing to trade for it.”
…
Mark: ‘How the hell does he know about that? Maybe one of those bastards from the information guild spilled the beans.’
He didn’t reply for a few seconds.
…
Momonga: “Please don’t ignore me, Fellow Player. I am willing to trade another World Item for it, one of the twenty.”
Mark: “Get out of here with that fake offer. Do you take me as a fool.”
…
Someone trading an item from the twenty for a normal World Item was absurd.
…
Momonga: “I am not kidding.”
Mark: “Then send me proof.”
Momonga: “[Photo]”
…
Mark clicked the [Photo]. He could see a human Player holding a small bird made of glass. It was shining with a bright red color.
Mark: ‘It really is one of the twenty.’
Momonga deliberately chose a known item of the twenty. Till now, only a few items were found, and this was the most recognizable of the bunch.
It was called the Phoenix Ember Heart. It could revive party members within a designated area. Upon revival, they were restored without any level reduction and did not lose any items upon their death. It could keep resurrecting party members for 15 minutes.
In the past, a Human Guild managed to defeat a Heteromorphic guild with the help of this item.
Mark: ‘I need to get that at all cost.’
…
Mark: “Could you wait for a few minutes. I have to discuss this with my guild mates.”
Momonga: “Sure.”
…
After closing his console, he told the other guild members about the messages.
Jack: “That will be helpful for the raid.”
Mark: “My thought’s exactly. If we use this item during our raid, the Red Bears will definatly give us a bigger portion of the loot.”
Jack: “Yeah.”
Pancy: “Hey Mark, what did you say the name of the Player was?”
Mark: “Their name is Momonga.”
Pancy: “That sounds familiar.”
Matt: “Hey, isn’t he the leader of Ainz Ooal Gown!”
Mark: “Oh, now I remember. I heard Ivan talking about him.”
Jack: “I think we should inform Ivan about it.”
Pancy: “I agree.”
Mark: “Alright, I’ll tell him.”
Mark then opened his console and sent the information to Ivan. After talking for a few minutes, he selected Momonga’s profile and replied to his message.
…
Mark: “I am willing to trade.”
Momonga: “Excellent, meet me at the outskirts of Midgard tomorrow.”
Mark: “Got it.”
Momonga: “Oh, and one more thing.”
Mark: “What?”
…
After hammering out the details, Mark closed the console and informed his guild mates about the situation.
Mark: “And he wants me to come alone.”
Jack: “Then how are we going to get Ivan there.”
Mark: “I have contacted Ivan, and told him the situation. He is willing to use a World Item to conceal their presence and attack him.”
Jack: “Fair enough. We should also get ready. There is no guarantee that he will be alone, too. And even if he is, he is still the World Champion of Helheim.”
Mark: “I know.”
Pancy: “Let’s GO!”
~Time Skip~
On the outskirts of Midgard, inside a dense forest, Momonga was waiting for Mark. He was using his Human variant for this trade.
Momonga: ‘He should be here by now.’
After a few minutes, Mark showed up.
Mark: “Hello.”
Momonga: “Hey.”
Momonga: “So, where is the item?”
Mark: “Ah, here it is.”
Mark out the ‘Loki’s Mimicry’ from his inventory. It was a small fist-sized purple crystal.
Mark opened the trade option from his console and invited Momonga.
[You have received the Trade Request from Player “Mark.” Do you accept [Y] or [N]]
I chose the [Y] option, and a small window appeared.
[Trade Parties: Momonga and Mark]
[Trade Box 1: World Item: Loki’s Mimicry.]
[Trade Box 2: Empty(Require World Item: Phoenix Ember Heart)]
[Close Trade.]
This was a way to trade between two parties. The two parties needed to be close to each other to initiate it. This condition was released on the 1st of April of the new year.
The devs were known to play pranks on the Players; on one occasion, they publicly revealed a player’s location for a day. This was in response to his repeated use of the ‘Wish Upon a Star’ ability to ask the developers to let him dress his NPC in provocative attire.
I added the Phoenix Ember Heart in the second box and took the ‘Loki’s Mimicry’ from the other box.
Momonga: “Pleasure doing business with you.”
I stored the World Item in my inventory and turned around to leave.
???: “Suprise Motherf*cker!”
Will Momonga be outsmarted by a group of lowly mortals? Have the mighty truly fallen? Have Momonga gone soft? All this and more in the next episode of Overlord: Multiverse.
