Overlord: Multiverse - Chapter 66: New World XXVIII
‘Hmm, lil sis? She only calls Shalltear that.’
I thought while pulling her closer.
“Hmm, and why does my little princess want me to talk with her?”
According to her information, it was because she got the air of Albedo and my adventurers. And from that day on, she was sulking and depressed.
Although I removed the line in her Flavor Text, the one about her insecurities about her chest size. Still, in the end, she was a woman.
“Let me guess, she thinks I did it with Albedo because she has a bigger chest than her?”
I asked while petting her head.
“Yup. She kept going on and on about how Daddy liked them big. I tried to cheer her up, but she wouldn’t listen.”
She spoke in a gloomy tone.
“Hahahaha, don’t worry. I’ll drill some sense into her.”
“Please, don’t be too hard on her.”
I laughed again and assured her while intensifying my petting. After about half an hour, I left her in my room and teleported to the third floor.
Many undead were strolling in the open wasteland on the third floor.
‘This could definitely act as the underworld in the future.’
I thought while looking around. Like with the NW, I had grand plans for Nazarick itself. After looking around for a little while, I started walking around to find Shalltear.
According to the information provided by Fenris, she should be patrolling around on the third floor.
After searching for a minute, I found her.
I quickly switched to my Doppelganger variant and started my transformation into a werewolf.
After a few seconds, I had switched my appearance to that of a bi-pedal black werewolf with red eyes and long canines.
‘Now the fun begins.’
I thought while running toward Shalltear. Even though I had removed a lot of fetishes from her Flavor Text, I kept some. And I knew she would enjoy it.
~Scene Change~
It was morning at the moment, and I was walking toward the town’s entrance gate. I had already instructed Enri to reach the gate and wait for me.
I had to rush here because of the things last night. Because it was still early in the morning, there weren’t many people on the streets; only some guards were going back toward the town from the entrance gate’s direction.
‘Finishing their night shift, I guess,’ I mused while watching them.
After walking for a few more minutes, I finally arrived near the gate, where I saw Enri, the Swords of Darkness and the members of the Black Scripture.
“May I check that blade?” Aleron, the captain of the Scripture, asked Enri while eyeing her sword.
“No, this blade is very precious to me, so I can’t allow it,” Enri coldly replied while tightening her grip on the sword’s hilt.
“I am not going to steal it; I just want to take a look at it,” He insisted while slowly closing the distance between them.
But before he could get near her, Lukrut decided to make a move.
“Hey man, haven’t you heard her. She doesn’t want to hand over the sword,” He tried to speak in an intimidating manner, and it would have worked if not for his shaking legs.
Aleron looked toward his legs and snickered before speaking mockingly.
“Ohh, and you are? Her husband?”
He closed the distance between his and Lukrut’s face to make himself more intimidating.
‘What a drag,’ I thought while moving toward the group. Due to my superior stats, I sped past the members of the Black Scripture.
When they did notice me and tried to stop me, I was already near the captain and placed my hand on his right shoulder.
“I think that’s enough.”
He reacted swiftly, turning towards me with almost unnatural speed. Being a skilled fighter, he refrained from attacking me. Several factors contributed to this, such as my lack of killing intent.
The fact that I had eluded his and his team’s senses also suggested that if I had wanted to harm them, I would have already done so.
“And you are?” He asked while squinting his eyes and examining me from head to toe. He still hadn’t tried to move away, so my hand was still on his shoulder.
“She is my partner, so I would appreciate it if you weren’t so rude to her,” I spoke while tightening my grip on his shoulder and releasing some of my magic power.
“I was just asking for her sword,” He spoke while brushing my hand away from his shoulder. He could brush my hand away because I wasn’t putting much strength in my grip.
“Let’s go; we don’t have time to waste.” He spoke while moving toward the gate, and the rest of Scripture’s members began to move.
The majority of them glared at me as they passed me.
When they all had exited the town, I turned toward the Enri and the members of Swords of Darkness. While Enri was able to withstand the release of my magic power, the rest weren’t so lucky.
They all were shaking, with Ninya on the ground, panting heavily.
“Forgive me; I didn’t mean to scare you guys.”
I apologetically spoke while moving toward them and casting a spell.
“Calmheart Ward”
It was a 4th tier spell and an AOE version of the Lion’s Heart spell. It could remove the fear status effect from people.
I intentionally let out my magic power and directed some of it toward them. I did it so that they didn’t consider me a pushover. With this, I wouldn’t have to worry about them talking against my opinions and decisions.
“W-Wh-What was that? I felt like a mountain was crushing down on me.”
Lukrut spoke while hugging himself and shivering occasionally.
“Ah, I let my magic power run rampant due to anger, and I didn’t control it. The pressure you all felt was due to the difference in strength.”
I spoke while helping Ninya off the ground.
“Look at Enri because she has a comparable strength to mine; she was able to resist my magic power.”
‘Or more like I didn’t direct my magic power toward her.’
Typically, the Players from Yggdrasil wouldn’t be able to control their magic power because it required training.
In the original series, when the workers from the Baharuth Empire infiltrated Nazarick and Momonga confronted them, he took off his ring, which hid his MP, and when he took it off, his magic power started to run rampant.
A powerful mage from the NW could do something similar to what I did, but only after a lot of training in controlling their magic power.
“I understand now, so that means you are very powerful,” Ninya asked while cleaning her clothes.
“That’s right; if I wasn’t strong enough, he might have killed me there,” I spoke while looking at the back of the captain of the Scripture, who was already a distance away from the town.
It took them a while to gather their marbles, but after about 20 minutes, we were ready to head out.
“If you are still not feeling well, we can go tomorrow.”
I asked Peter, who was still a bit shaken.
“I’ll be fine,”
He casually replied and began walking toward the exit; the rest of the group followed suit. Our first stop was a bandit camp up South.
According to the information we had received while taking the request, it would take about a day to reach it.
During our journey there, we talked about things like Enri and my past, our purpose, etc.
“Now that I think about it, we are reaching near the territory of the Giant of the East.” Ninya chimed in whilst Lukrut was trying to act tough.
“Hmm, even though we are moving toward the South, we are nearing the Giant of the East’s territory. That doesn’t even make sense.”
I casually asked while walking leisurely.
“Hahaha, many foreign adventurers also get confused by it.”
“Foreign adventurers, do many of them come here? Even though it is a border town.”
No information about the normal dynamics of the NW was provided in the original series or the original source material. And because I was a big of the series, I wanted to discover and experience these minor things.
“Yeah, because the Forest of Tob and the cursed Katze Plains are near the town, they provide opportunities for the adventurers to gain experience and strengthen themselves.”
Peter replied while looking back at me.
“Even me and Dyne are not from the town. We came from the Baharuth Empire due to the absence of good quests. The knights there take care of monster activity, leaving the adventurers with mundane quests.”
“I understand, but I heard that the Empire have workers who are like mercenaries. So, why didn’t you choose to become a worker?”
Dyne was the one to answer this time.
“The workers are not protected by the guild, which leads to hairy situations, and we didn’t want to get into trouble over some coins. So, in the end, we decided to move to E-Rantel.”
“Interesting.”
“Going back to the topic, as I said, many foreign adventurers also get confused because they don’t understand the supposed hierarchy of the Forest of Tob.”
Dyne took control of the conversation from Peter.
“The Forest is controlled by 3 powerful monsters. The Wise King of the Forest, The Giant of the East and the Demon Snake of the West. There were actually four rulers; the fourth one was the Tyrant Emperor. But the Giant of the East killed it and took control of its territory.”
‘Interesting, really interesting. There wasn’t a mention of this Tyrant Emperor in the novels or anime. This may require a bit of investigation.’
Because it was an AU, I wanted to uncover most of its secrets.
“How do you know so much about the hierarchy of the Forest. Do you have the ability to talk with the monsters?”
I inquired with a mix of jest and genuine curiosity.
“Hahahaha, I wish I had it, but no. A former adventurer who was a monster tamer told us about it.”
“Got it.”
To Be Continued…
A/N: Sorry for not uploading yesterday; an urgent assignment came up, and I had to do it because it was from a very strict professor. Anyhow, enjoy the chapter.
Also, I haven’t been reading your comments and replies, so I am sorry for that as well. I’ll probably read them today or tomorrow when I have enough time.
Peace.
