PALPATE MY HEART: Dr. Wicked is My Wife - Chapter 58
Luo Jingyi nearly hit him for his shamelessness. He returned to his chair as if nothing happened at all.
‘I feel like you are taking advantage of me.’ Luo Jingyi meant to complain but kept her mouth closed. ‘Or am I too petty?’
After their meal, Yun Jinghan asked what she had planned for the afternoon. She mentioned she was going to the city center and look around. It was her first time in Sanya so she wanted to check out the place.
“I’ll accompany you.”
Luo Jingyi directed her gaze on his suit. “Why don’t you change into something more comfortable?”
“Come to my room then.”
Ignoring the humor in the invitation, she refused with a wave of her hand. “Go. I’ll wait in the lobby.”
Yun Jinghan showed a disappointed face but Luo Jingyi ignored it and turned away.
Occupying the sofa, Luo Jingyi took out the book in her bag and read but she couldn’t concentrate. Her mind was still on Yun Jinghan did earlier. No matter how much she wanted to shove it off her head, it just kept popping out.
‘Why am I bothered by it?’ She interrogated herself.
“Luo Jingyi!” A familiar voice pulled her out of her reverie. Glancing to the direction where it came from, she saw Aunt Alice and Uncle Antoine. It registered on her that it would be Uncle Antoine’s birthday in three days. The couple would always go on a two-week-long trip together to celebrate the day he was born. However, she was surprised that they chose Sanya this time.
Luo Jingyi hurried to meet them halfway.
“What are you doing here?” Aunt Alice asked in surprise.
She told them about the medical conference.
“Oh. That’s the reason why the place is overflowing with doctors. Just now, I met an acquaintance who came for the same thing.”
“Did Yun Jinghan accompany you?”
Before she could answer, Luo Jingyi was distracted by Yun Jinghan’s appearance as he came out of the elevator. He changed into a pair of shorts, a white shirt, and casual loafers. She ascertained that regardless of what Yun Jinghan would wear, he would still be irresistible.
Aunt Alice and Uncle Antoine looked at each other before the former nudged Luo Jingyi.
Luo Jingyi coughed and swallowed her embarrassment. She was sure her ears were red. She was practically drooling in front of the couple.
Yun Jinghan greeted the couple politely when he came closer.
“It’s nice to see you both spending time together.” Uncle Antoine laughed while he patted Yun Jinghan on the shoulder.
Yun Jinghan gave her a cursory glance which she returned with a slight shake in her head. She didn’t know they were coming here. It was a simple coincidence.
“What’s on your itinerary?” Aunt Alice directed the question to Yun Jinghan.
“Just sight-seeing at the city center.” He answered, standing closely to Luo Jingyi.
The couple looked at each other before Uncle Antoine invited them, “We are going to Wuzhizhou Island. Why don’t you come along?”
Luo Jingyi and Yun Jinghan went along with the couple.
The four of them took the 20-minute ride to the island which was 30 km North-East of Sanya. On the map, the island looked like a butterfly with its wings open.
As the ferry’s engines roared by, Luo Jingyi fixated her eyes on the ocean, ignoring the excited chatter around her. It’s been a while since she’d been to the sea and she liked the feeling of the warm sun tickling on her skin and the cool air tugging her hair away. She rummaged for something in her bag but disappointed when she forgot to bring them.
“Wear these.” Yun Jinghan passed a pair of sunglasses that magically appeared on his hand. Surprised, she intended to ask where he plucked them from but it was answered when the corner of her eyes caught K2 not far from them.
“Thank you!” Luo Jingyi put them on.
Upon arrival, Aunt Alice pointed to the blue golf carts by the entrance. “Let’s ride that.”
Uncle Antoine readily agreed and they sprinted to that side while Luo Jingyi and Yun Jinghan stayed behind.
“I didn’t know they would be here.” Luo Jingyi informed him. What she felt at the moment was, the director called them out of the blue, put them on the stage in front of a thousand fans and they have to make an impromptu performance.
“I think it’s a good idea they are here.” Yun Jinghan smiled at her.
“What do you mean?”
“Nothing.” He didn’t want to admit that he preferred for them to be around.
‘So you wouldn’t push me away.’ He answered in his head.
