Paragon of Sin - Chapter 1639: : An Unprecedented Step (1)
The two women’s reactions were not exaggerated or too surprising; they had long since understood the correlation between cultivation and status, including means, methods, and wealth. While they were both aware that Wei Wuyin was young, the Neo-Dawn Vortex-Zone Pellet excused the matter of time, and it wasn’t too far-fetched to believe that Wei Wuyin had already entered the ranges of a few hundred years, perhaps nearing a thousand.
As for Wei Wuyin openly displaying a cultivation base at the Star Core Phase recently, they simply assumed it was Wei Wuyin being fairly low-key to not detract from Yue Songli, Luo Ning, and Cao Cuifen’s experiences. After all, they witnessed him outright slaying a Sage on Minor Elysium and bore witness to the catastrophic conflict outside the Sky Heart Galaxy. Even If they told others that Wei Wuyin was a Starlord, they would laugh in their faces in disbelief and amusement at their naivety.
After all, Wei Wuyin’s status as a Worldly Saint Alchemist moved a Mystic Overlord to become a maidservant to Cao Cuifen, had several Mystic Overlords setting aside differences to gain his favor, converted two galaxies into vassal states, and allowed Cao Cuifen and Luo Ning to purchase numerous expensive and rare products.
Unlike Cao Cuifen and Liu Suyin, they didn’t dual cultivate with him either, so they couldn’t verify his Existential Framework or Yang Essence’s intrinsic grade. Now that Wei Wuyin was informing them of his upcoming ascension into the Mystic Ascendant Realm, they were absolutely flabbergasted, and rightfully so.
Wei Wuyin’s status and means already defy common sense and conventional standards on every level imaginable as a mere mortal. If he ascended…
They slowly became incredibly excited.
“Good luck!” Yue Songli cheered with a bright smile. She promised him a special surprise after his success, giving him further motivation to return.
“Always remain vigilant! Verify your path and tread it with your all!” Qing Qiumu solemnly voiced.
Only after hearing Wei Wuyin insist that he had made ample preparations several times did she loosen up and deliver an unforgettable smile filled with unrivaled warmth and belief. She believed in him. As the man who freed her on multiple occasions, she was certain that Wei Wuyin wouldn’t stumble on such a simple task. Shockingly, she also promised a surprise upon his success. When he asked her what type of surprise, her eyes flashed a shy look and her cheeks blushed before she urged him to hurry on.
“Those two…” Wei Wuyin was lying down lazily on a loose asteroid in the Void-Blank Space between two starfields with both hands behind his head acting as support. It was a fragment from a long-forgotten destroyed planet from far, far away. He always enjoyed doing this while idle.
The three False God Avatars were en route to returning; they contained Ori, King, and Eden, who accompanied Qing Qiumu, Cao Cuifen, and Luo Ning respectively whenever they separated and merged whenever they came together. He was growing increasingly proficient at using the False God Avatar Art, especially after Eden’s transformation.
While they flew across the Dark Void, each avatar sensed the aftermath of his visits whenever they passed a specific area with each minor spatial shift. While some movements were more subtle, the fact that entire forces were searching for the thieving culprits was hard to miss if one understood the situation. Entire forces closed off their doors to outsiders. Other forces immediately accused others and conflict arose, both internally and externally.
A few organizations with great reputations for theft were razed to the ground overnight. These included dark, sinister, and ambiguous organizations that were tolerated because interests aligned. A few forces clashed by accusing each other of the act, fighting a hectic and devastating war with hatred, suspicion, and fear.
It was chaos.
And it was only the beginning.
While resources were overly abundant, most of these organizations had accumulated and preserved tens of thousands or even hundreds of thousands of years of material resources since their founding till now. The sheer value of their vaults was inestimable. Wei Wuyin becoming the richest person within the galaxy in a single month was entirely accurate!
The stronger, more established forces were less hasty in their retaliatory actions, unwilling to send themselves into oblivion and potential war against an innocent party and allowing someone to profit off their conflict. They investigated the fatal flaw within their defensive systems, and then they brought in Oracles, Heavenly Seers, and Spiritualists to grasp the how, why, when, and who.
This was still ongoing and likely wouldn’t finish for a few days to weeks. They didn’t dare be careless, but the shortage of available top-tier Oracles and Heavenly Seers became apparent soon after, forcing others to rely on lower-ranking members of those occupations out of necessity. Slowly, some of the more connected organizations realized these thefts were not limited to them…
Wei Wuyin had specifically targeted most forces in the No-Name Galaxy, actively avoiding Alchemist organizations and Sage-led forces for now. The former had the strength of unrealized yet unlimited potential wealth while the latter had legitimate strength and reach. Countless experts from all over would assist in searching if Alchemist organizations got involved. They could promise far too much without needing any wealth to speak of, recruiting terrifying figures from thin air and lofty reputations.
After all, the ability of a Worldly Saint Alchemist having the means to place a bounty on Resonant Soul Realm experts, further enabled by an entire organization, and gathering strength of numerous Sages, was always present and unforgettable. That said, they were only not targeted for now. Wei Wuyin hoped that they strengthened their defenses, so he could further test Kratos’ outrageous claims.
There was no place it could not go? There was no place that could contain it?
This was also a form of training. Facing those Sage-level Spatial Restrictive Formations and Arrays allowed Wei Wuyin to understand the significant properties and intrinsic difference between Spatial Energy and Void Energy. After his thirtieth or so visit, he felt his Minor Authority of Space take a small step forward. He was capable of blocking, reconstructing, and distorting the three dimensions layers of space, traversing them freely, while also entering the Void with his physical body.
His Minor Authority of Space and Time had made minor advancements since this trip across the stars, and they were slowly progressing to the next level. Wei Wuyin found this type of cultivation interesting and helpful. Also, very, very profitable.
‘Usage equates to cultivation; The more I interact with greater levels of spatial and temporal manipulation and phenomenon, especially those that block, distort, prevent, and alert, the greater my insights gained upon bypassing, reversing, diffusing, or replicating those attributes. I can feel the resonance of these Laws increasing.’
By sheer coincidence, Wei Wuyin had found a steady path of progression regarding the cultivation of Laws.
It wasn’t simply those two either. Wei Wuyin’s willingness to wield his saber against the heavens themselves for Su Mei further stimulated and advanced his Minor Authority of Saber Law. Also, fearlessly challenging and slaying an Enlightened Sage after unsheathing his saber was an unparalleled development and verification of his path.
When Wei Wuyin learned the saber, he was taught by his older brother a few principles by which to wield a saber, and that was to never draw your saber unless you were doing two things with absolute certainty with your life on the line: To kill or to protect!
With a single swing of his saber, he brought an end to the threat against Su Mei and the life of an Enlightened Sage, a genuine peak Ascended being! Wei Wuyin could already feel that his Law of Saber had reached the very peak of the Minor Authority.
Verifying his path of cultivation seemed to be the basis of enhancing one’s resonance with the Laws, especially for the saber. While Law of Annihilation was inexplicably maintaining the same level of progression as his Minor Saber Law. That saber slash against Sage Springfield had annihilated an entire stretch of heaven and void, causing even the great daos to steer away. It seemed bringing annihilation to things was the key to advancement.
As for the Imperial Law, Wei Wuyin’s actions of conquering two galaxies, and transforming them into his vassal states wasn’t a simple matter to complete within under a year, and unlike the isolated Ancient Sealed Region where countless souls had submitted to his rule after his unprecedented public rise step-by-step after decades, he required additional time to establish influence over territory, its inhabitants wills, and their hearts.
The Law of Origin had stagnated; Wei Wuyin hadn’t found any opportunities to exert its powers of genesis, creation, or elemental conjugation recently. However, he could tell that his depth of knowledge of all things material would increase its authority, and he had the greatest tool for doing so: The Eye of Creation!
While he couldn’t be certain, he felt that spending sufficient time deconstructing, replicating, constructing, and elevating these newly acquired materials of the No-Name Galaxy through the Eye of Creation would greatly improve his Law of Origin’s authority. This was his path forward.
If the supreme cultivators at the Resonant Soul Realm learned of Wei Wuyin planning concise steps to advancing his Laws as a mere mortal, not only would they be ravaged by envy but stupefied with extreme disbelief. The domain of Laws wasn’t meant to be explored by mortals. That was no different than excavating and grasping heaven’s secrets.
The first avatar returned. It smoothly assimilated with Wei Wuyin and his dual spirit cultivation was regained.
“Stepping into the Mystic Ascendant Realm…the Magi inheritance,” Wei Wuyin mused.
The Magi’s inheritance that his alternative self from the River of Time’s tribulation had been extracted by Fuxi after the absorption of his memories and Wei Wuyin was warned to wait for the proper moment to acquire such information.
“I’ve always been curious about my lineage. Without a doubt, my mother was a Magi, and Wei Si was sent down to kill me. What I don’t understand is…”
Wei Wuyin was rife with questions that remained unanswered to this day, and he hoped to find answers for them after this ascension.
The second and third avatars soon returned.
“Should I be expecting any chaos during this tribulation?” Wei Wuyin asked Ori, King, Eden, and Kratos with a wry smile.
Since tribulations became a part of his cultivation path, these mischievous spirits acted with wanton ambition and recklessly during each, causing every tribulation to be so shockingly wild.
The Seed Tribulation Gate was rather simple on paper; he just needed to willingly execute a method to maintain his Mystic Star Phase cultivation and take this last opportunity to elevate his foundation before entering the Mystic Dao entirely. This cultivation path was taken by demonic geniuses and the Chosen of the Onestar Galaxy who didn’t mind exhausting eight hundred years and had an incredible quantity of resources.
“…” The four spirits were suspiciously silent. Wei Wuyin already felt a looming cloud of catastrophe hanging over his head.
“Our agreement. Don’t forget that,” Wei Wuyin reminded them with a dark expression.
They simply had to inform him of their future antics, and he wouldn’t carelessly impede their actions no matter how brazen or dangerous it was. In fact, he would support them wholeheartedly.
“…” After some verbal convincing while the four of them were certainly debating silently amongst each other, Eden finally spoke up: “The method to ascend… we want to…”
“…” Wei Wuyin listened.
After the first sentence, his eyes widened.
After the second sentence, his upper body was lifted upright with a jolt.
After the third sentence, his expression visibly darkened with numerous questions lingering in his gaze.
But the fourth sentence answered some of those questions and stifled any further need for an explanation, and he could only sigh with a chuckle.
“Fine,” Wei Wuyin kept his promise and didn’t intend to impede their plans. This was to be expected after all.
“Are all of you ready then?” Wei Wuyin asked his four spirits and Little Defiant and received pulses indicating their readied states.
Wei Wuyin didn’t choose the No-Name Galaxy as his place for ascension without reasoning, as there was an Absolute Void Region among their forbidden zones. While he didn’t enter it, an Absolute Void Region could act as a minor Prohibition of Heaven’s Resonance as a countermeasure against potential retaliation from that hazy figure.
Moreover, unlike the Prohibition of Heaven’s Resonance, while it might not be as strong, it wouldn’t affect his ascension negatively. While there wasn’t a great chance of that occurring, he was always prepared.
Floating in the empty void, his breathing steadied as his black robes fluttered without wind. He could feel the Mystic Rune Seeds begin their initial resonance with the Mystic Dao, triggering the call for an opportunity to ascend.
He began his ascension!
NO!
THE FOUR SPIRITS BEGAN THEIR ASCENSIONS!
With him at the center, from four directions, thunderous rumbling echoed throughout the void as four Seed Tribulation Gates manifested!!!
