Paragon of Sin - Chapter 1650: : The Next Stage
The dense Enlightened Scholarly Mist that enveloped Wei Wuyin within his Mind’s Eye’s metaphysical space dissipated, basking his body in a gorgeous silvery solar radiance that illuminated his manifested soul form. Without shielding his eyes, Wei Wuyin gazed at Little Defiant’s form.
Within his Mind’s Eye, Little Defiant seemed to be miniscule by comparison as size was inconsistent and largely irrelevant here, based only on their respective wills. So Little Defiant was only slightly larger than this manifested form of his mind and soul. It moved toward him while emitting the gentlest warmth, and he could only smile. His soul had been tempered by Hellfire in Hell, so even if Little Defiant decided to release scorching rays that could raze stellar regions, it wouldn’t inflict much damage to his soul directly.
“How are you feeling?” Wei Wuyin asked softly, caressing the blazing surface of Little Defiant as it bobbed up and down slightly, revealing its elation. It sent fluctuations that it was feeling great. When Wei Wuyin split his True Soul and cultivation into four, Little Defiant was split too.
It was currently adjusting to its momentous changes. Not only had its body split into four, perfectly repaired, and then emerged into a single entity again, but its Star Soul had made the great leap from mortal to Mystic. By all definitions, Little Defiant was a Mystic Star. The solar energies, essence, and light it released were at the mystic-grade.
The very origin of the Mystic Star Phase was born due to World-Bound Star Domains such as Little Defiant and the Mystic Core formed around the Astral Soul! It was the stage that linked Mortal and Mystic, with Mystic granting respect to the previously traveled Mortal Dao, yet allowing cultivators to enter its domain entirely and shed the principles of the Mortal Realms by skipping it.
Normally, the World-Bound Star Domain would be the prime supporter to a Mystic Star Phase cultivator’s future cultivation within the stage, especially after the transition would allow them to use the solar essence at mystic-grade to refine their body, Sea of Consciousness, Mystic Cores, and Spirits of Cultivation’s states repeatedly until they were ready to take that great big leap into the Mystic Ascendant Realm fully, transforming their Astral Soul into a Mystic Soul. However, Wei Wuyin’s needs were excessive, and while Little Defiant could provide refinement, he would need products of the high or peak-tier of the Mystic-World grade or Mystic-Heaven grade products.
“We’re done!” Eden sent a message that was like a tempest of air throughout the Mind’s Eye. The echoing of its voice had become barely noticeable. This was a sign that Eden had adjusted to the merger of four different Astral Souls into one, harmonizing them perfectly.
Wei Wuyin could feel his mind empty out as the Second Mind happily left.
“I’ll be busy, so don’t disturb me.”
Was the last, abrupt, and rude words it left behind before entering the Library of Eden and slamming the doors shut. The Sea of Consciousness’ mental energy sea was flowing steadily into the Library of Eden’s base, and the palace was slowly enlarging and changing in shape.
While his Astral Souls hadn’t transitioned into Mystic Souls, the innate energies of his body had made that transformation on an intrinsic level to the mystic-grade, and he could exert and interact with the domain of the Mystic Dao. Furthermore, he no longer had a trace of astral force, only mystic force.
Unlike his breakthrough to the Star Core Phase that had inspired their courageous division, his foundation was solid, just not consolidated. When he became a Starlord, his foundation had been a quarter of its maximum potential and this severely impacted his cultivation and powers. He had to spend an enormous amount of time normalizing his cultivation base. Now, however, his cultivation base was at its natural minimum, only requiring further accumulation and refinement.
Wei Wuyin touched Little Defiant’s flaming surface as the flares hugged around his fingers. ‘I lost my family before, but I won’t lose them ever again.’ Those words etched themselves into his soul.
He had reached unprecedented heights. He wasn’t ignorant of that or that his origins were anything but ordinary. In fact, he may be a piece on a grand universal board for the Bloodline of Sin or some other Divinity for some goal of theirs. Why else would that man with silver hair and black eyes transfer the Bloodline of Sin to him? A mere mortal?
If anyone told him that it was coincidental, he would scoff at their face. That person had to be at least in the Realm of Sages, and he allowed Wei Wuyin to kill him and entrusted the Bloodline of Sin to him despite knowing the severe lethal dangers that the Calamities of Hell possessed to mortals.
Perhaps it was a long-shot bet to achieve a goal? Perhaps it was something else entirely, but none of that matters.
If not for that irrational decision of his, he would have died to Long Chen then, and everything else would have been inconsequential. If there was a chance for him to repay the favor without bringing harm to his new family, then he would try. He would certainly try.
—–
Wei Wuyin returned to his body, and he could feel the changes to his Celestial Eyes of Spiritual Divinity.
“He was inspired and insisted on doing so before leaving,” Eden confessed. His Second Mind was obsessed with theory and study, much like an avid scholar, and he clearly wanted to try his hands at correcting the Celestial Eyes of Spiritual Divinity using the Magi Royalty’s inheritance. While these eyes were no Celestial Eyes of Ascending Divinity, there were no longer any flaws within the foundation of the spell, elevating the Eye of Immortality, Eye of Illusion, Eye of Truth, and Eye of Creation.
He tested out the Eye of Immortality; the immortal aura it possessed originated from an intrinsic transformation of the spiritual properties of Permanence and could project its eternal aura onto certain external objects and spells.
However, it was only limited to the Dao Domain of the Magi. If he used this on a product, it would remain until the eternal aura was exhausted, and if it was never destroyed, then theoretically, it could exist forever as a pseudo-immortal object. However, it couldn’t work on living souls, True Soul, or physical entities with either.
This power was rather profoundly incredible, but after reaching the Mystic Ascendant Realm, ending a fight was shattering your opponent’s soul to prevent any nonsense of temporal reversion or interference of Resonant Soul Realm experts, so there was no reason to place an eternal aura on a living object.
The Eye of Illusion and the Eye of Truth simply had significant improvements to their range and respective clarity. Additionally, Wei Wuyin could perceive through illusions and various hidden truths that once exceeded his range of perception.
Lastly, the Eye of Creation’s Divine Seed of Creation had sprouted into a tiny galaxy, a spiraling cosmos of miniature Celestial objects and phenomena. It seemed to embody the beginning of creation, swirling beautifully while releasing a unique silvery radiance of creation. It was grand to an extreme, gorgeous to an apex, and majestically limitless. It resembled the scene of Creation finishing the first-ever galaxy with a silvery glow.
This was incredibly shocking to Wei Wuyin who had thought that the Divine Seed would transform into a Divine Tree, and there was every evidence that it would be given that evolved form from its cultivation method.
Was this the Dao of Creation’s influence?
He was certain that the Dao of Creation must have affected the Eye of Creation. The Eye of Creation was better described as the Eye of Nourishment, given it could assimilate and nourish objects of the Material Dao at higher levels of quality and quantity with Spiritual Energy before spewing them out with no imperfections and a higher grade.
Was this Eye of Creation different?
“It’s been ten days,” Wei Wuyin’s Minor Law of Time could calculate time to an eerily precise measurement regardless of his location. Since his ascension, it’s been ten whole days, which totaled forty-six days since he left to ascend.
“A month and a half, huh?” Wei Wuyin was currently floating in the Dark Void upright and with a straight spine. He was still near the Absolute Void Region of the No-Name Galaxy.
Using his improved Celestial Eyes, Wei Wuyin could see areas both far and near with exceptional clarity, including the fluctuations of souls, and there was an ongoing and incessant, both intense and weak, fluctuations of energy, qi, astral force, mystic force, mystic power, and soul aura. The last of these would flicker intensely or be snuffed out abruptly.
Some of the energy fluctuations belonged to activated arrays that engulfed planets, starfields, Stellar Regions, Void Vessels, or entire fleets surging through the Dark Void like a school of fish, others belonged to cultivators fighting either in the Dark Void, the sky of various planets, or the land itself.
Chaos. Absolute chaos.
Wei Wuyin nodded with a shadow of a satisfied smile. This wasn’t directly caused by his series of intrusive thefts, but certainly ignited the powder keg that led to this explosive result.
After mulling over his planned cultivation path once again, confirming his future timeline, Wei Wuyin thought: ‘I won’t make any further significant changes to my cultivation before the Fourth Calamity arrives, so I’ll spend this time adjusting my mental state and exploring the various changes to my cultivation.’
There wasn’t much time left before the Fourth Calamity descended upon him, seeking to eradicate his existence. While he had made incredible transformations in soul and cultivation, he still hadn’t cultivated his True Soul and acquired definitive protection against failing these Calamities of Hell.
As for planning to face the Fourth Calamity, there was nothing else he could do. Wen Mingna had already given him ample time to make any tangible preparations, both in mind and strategy. He could only push forward by giving it his all.
Nothing less!
“Huh?” Wei Wuyin glanced at his Saint Ring. There were numerous spiritual messages within that originated from very far, long-distance communication from Void Altars established within the White Abyssal Galaxy and Sky Heart Galaxy, including absurdly long-distance support by the Endless Void Mirror.
Wei Wuyin had made certain promises, and he had never failed to maintain them; for example, he kept in constant contact with Bai Yinyin for the most inconsequential conversations. Xue Yifei would often send him little notes, brief sentences detailing her day, and then slyly included loving words. They warmed his heart and reminded him that he once again had a home to return to.
Among these numerous messages included those from nearby; for example, Yue Songli was sending him incessant messages updating him on the situation that was growing rather swiftly and rampantly in the galaxy. They included:
From the very first day of his departure,
“You won’t receive this message until after your ascension, but I wanted to say…I’ll paint you a proper portrait when you return.”
Her tone was shy, clearly requiring a lot of build-up to offer. Wei Wuyin’s smile turned into a full-blown grin.
After a while, she said:
“Lady Luo is impressive. She embodies the true spirit of an Alchemist.”
“I’ve taken Dakarai out for a stroll recently. He took a chunk out of a star and caused quite a commotion…I don’t know what to do…”
Yue Songli’s voice seemed helpless, but there was a hint of pride in her voice. Wei Wuyin could tell her complaint wasn’t a complaint but a sly brag about the titanic hyena. He could only shake his head with an amused smile.
“I heard that someone offended Cao Cuifen…she sent Grey Rose to handle it. I never realized how powerful a Mystic Overlord was, but when Grey Rose made a move, I saw it from starfields away. It was crazy. She’s still weaker than you though.”
“I just got done bathing, and I was thinking of you. I mean, not like that! I was wondering how the ascension went. Are you out there consolidating your cultivation? Hmm. Who do you think is stronger? Grey Rose or Dakarai? Uhm, never mind…”
These messages were days apart. As time went on, the messages began to increase in frequency.
“The Glory Solara Palace I’m visiting just found out they’ve been robbed! They’re looking everywhere for the culprit.”
“I think they found the culprit. They asked me to assist them in seeking revenge. I know they just want to use Dakarai for vengeance. I don’t know if I should…they have been quite generous though. I’ll wait for your return to make a decision.”
“The Glory Solara Palace is currently surrounded! I don’t know why, but I’m leaving for now. Both sides told me to do so, so I’ll stay out of it, let them deal with their own issues.”
Yue Songlies voice was filled with surprise but also interest. She was a tiny witness to the ripples of Wei Wuyin’s actions. From what he recalled, the Glory Solara Palace was a force with an Original Magistrate at the helm, a genuine expert at the Heavenly Saint Phase.
“When will you return? I miss y…”
The message abruptly ended, but Wei Wuyin knew that it was out of embarrassment. She was never one to vocalize her feelings, so she must have gathered great courage to send that. She sent another a few hours later.
“Conflict is happening everywhere! I heard Luo Ning was rising in reputation and influence, and many top-tier forces are seeking her to make products. There was something about her concoction speed being unprecedented.”
Wei Wuyun listened intently to each message and through her, he felt a small part of the chaos unfold. It was only small, but it validated much of his assumptions and theories regarding what would happen after.
