Paragon of Sin - Chapter 1670: : The Eight Doors (5)
Su Mei’s message was thought-provoking enough that Wei Wuyin actively decided to seek his Second Mind for an educated opinion before anything else, even as he was exerting an impassable wall of Spiritual Strength that was being pounded against. Horus, the so-called Divinity of the Endless Sky, was still trying to reach the eight doors, yet Wei Wuyin was indifferently and effortlessly blocking his path forward.
There were many curious points to consider. Additionally, Su Mei sent another message to Wei Wuyin once again. This time it was regarding Yue Songli and Liu Suyin. Those two had gone before the Prime Ascendants, so their souls were undoubtedly infected by whatever was occurring, and she was seeking assistance regarding their status.
While the Prime Ascendants had almost unanimously reacted and snatched back their portion of segregated soul as well as dispersed the portion of the falsely replenished soul, handling their situation on both points, their strengths and cultivations were far beyond Yue Songli and Liu Suyin in terms of training and execution. Fortunately, and shockingly, Cao Cuifen had abstained from participating with Grey Rose.
This was slightly due to her yet-to-be-solved inferiority complex when it came to talent. While she had brazenly, intelligently, and slyly negotiated for the Ascendants and the others to participate, she felt that she was far too old and far too lacking to be a ‘destined’ one. Grey Rose, meanwhile, had given up the opportunity to stay by Cao Cuifen’s side unhesitatingly. Her concern for Cao Cuifen’s safety was heightened after Sage Khonshu revealed an angry streak.
Bang! Bang! Bang!!
Wei Wuyin twisted his lips into a pout. Then, he left the task to his Second Mind to decipher and ponder before he honed onto San Yongli and Liu Suyin’s souls using his newfound Soul Perception of his completed Celestial Eyes of Spiritual Divinity. His eyebrows jumped slightly. Despite relying on his Soul Perception, he could initially determine the effects of the doors. Those silver eyes of his narrowed sharply, a saber light of void-splitting and all-ending intensity was born.
Ban-
A bang was stopped so abruptly that it could turn someone dizzy from confusion as to how. When Wei Wuyin lifted his gaze at a particular point, deathly silence fell across the vast sandy desert and even the flow of life and death vibrated, inducing a heaven-shaking scene that was indescribably hectic. A gaze fell upon Wei Wuyin, shaken and wary.
“Major?” The voice said softly, inaudible to all but itself and Wei Wuyin. However, it said, in an even softer voice:
“No…that’s…”
Yet Wei Wuyin didn’t care about its thoughts, assumptions, or beliefs.
“What did those eight doors do to the sends?” Every syllable carried the sharpness that could split apart all things!
“…” Horus remained silent.
Wei Wuyin took a single step forward.
BOOSH!!!
The already existing crater of tens of thousands of miles wide and thousands of miles deep grew inconceivably wider and deeper as almost the entire vast sandy desert was pushed against the borders of this world, the rest being absent, and the depths so deep that it exploded the core that emitted gravity and maintained whatever eco-system of the environment.
Walls of sand reached hundreds of thousands of feet high as Wei Wuyin’s body was swirled by flawlessly clear light that radiated the perfect Mortal Dao alongside the truest blessing of the Mortal Dao. A genuine, beyond a shadow of a doubt, Mortal Paragon! His hand touched his hilt, and all time seemed to stop.
Eight doors? Soul infections? Other effects imposed on the souls? None of that would matter if he annihilated everything, eradicating the eight doors completely! If the strange life, death, and soul-affecting array that resembled the Soul Cycle Array were destroyed, he needn’t worry about future issues. His thought was simple, and while he was being rather short-sighted, Wei Wuyin didn’t know what consequences there could be or if Yue Songli and Liu Suyin would be harmed by this due to any delay. Even if there was a minuscule chance that it was capable of affecting their future negatively, he would rather destroy it all!
This was downright tyrannical to an extreme, yet Wei Wuyin felt it was easily the simplest decision to make given the circumstances.
While his Second Mind was working overtime to decipher the technique, his Celestial Eyes were unable to figure out what happened to Yue Songli and Liu Suyin so long after they had entered the doors. This could be a matter of distance or time, but he would consider all that later.
“…!” Sensing Wei Wuyin’s intent to annihilate everything, Horus released a surge of soul-freezing aura that clashed with Wei Wuyin’s clear light that was swirling about his body. As if under some unique condition, it could exert strength that caused Wei Wuyin’s heart and spirits to thrum intensely.
Resonant Soul Realm!
The aura was not drenched in mortal laws of stellar creation nor the mystic laws of distinct unfathomability, but the heavenly laws of a boundless soul. Wei Wuyin felt his entire being, down to his True Soul, be smashed upon by a freezing power! All of time, space, mana, life, death, and Heavenly Laws went still.
This was…the Fixed Soul Spell!
It was far, far, far more profound, yet after cultivating this spell for nearly a century, Wei Wuyin was incredibly familiar with its effects. However, this spell didn’t just affect the body, spirits, dantian, Sea of Consciousness, and soul, but the True Soul and Laws as well!
Wei Wuyin, for the very first time in his life, felt that manipulating his Minor Laws had grown as difficult as trudging across a field of thick sludge while trying to conceive any thought was like pushing back a mountain. Every push required tremendous mental and soul energy!
Fortunately, while his soul energy wasn’t high in quantity, it was stupendously, outrageously, and impressively high in quality after his repeated tempering, while his Laws were far from ordinary after being split apart and merged after becoming whole. With a little additional effort, the Law of Space, Time, and Origin allowed everything around him to resume! He avoided the fate of being caught in pseudo-stasis.
However, that simple exchange of power allowed Wei Wuyin to understand the true invincibility of Resonant Soul Realm experts! With this extraordinary power, unless one was an Enlightened Sage or possessed an extraordinary Supreme Heavenly Treasure, they had genuinely no chance of resisting a Resonant Soul Realm! No hope at all!
His body flexed as the aura was dispersed.
“…!!!” A sound of deep disbelief resounded.
Wei Wuyin didn’t hesitate a single second after, pulling out his saber by a single centimeter from its scabbard, causing the entire world to tremble at its seams, on the verge of complete collapse.
“WAIT!” A cry thundered. Between the constellations of the eight doors, the void was split into two, and the starry sky of the No-Name Galaxy could be seen for the briefest moment before a strange power immediately repaired the split.
Wei Wuyin had stopped! The action caused his body to feel extreme, soul-rending pain, yet he held it back as his silver eyes glared at a particular point in space.
“How cowardly,” he spat. This so-called Divinity of the Endless Sky had, within a single instant, threatened to detonate the entire Land of Manu by overloading the World Core they resided. It only subsided after Wei Wuyin kept his saber at a single centimeter drawn.
Seeing Wei Wuyin stopping, the voice of Horus echoed out once again, this time with reasonable calm.
“Calm down, demonic child.” The two words ‘demonic child’ fit Wei Wuyin far too perfectly given his youth-to-strength ratio. “Let us discuss the issue before either of us do something we’d regret,” it softly threatened while trying to de-escalate the situation.
“What are the eight doors? And what did they do to the souls of those who’ve undergone the trial?” Wei Wuyin interrogated as he sheathed the one centimeter of saber back into its scabbard.
“Those are secrets that-” It began in a profound voice filled with confidence.
Wei Wuyin halted only for this split second, allowing words to be exchanged, solely for a single purpose!
His True Draconic Void Bloodline roared!! Each individual that possessed his uniquely defined Saint Ring was immediately there one moment, and then…
GONE THE NEXT!
After sending them all away, Wei Wuyin’s aura of clear, flawlessly cultivated light exerting the presence of a Mortal Paragon EXPLODED!!!
Within that fraction of a fraction of a second, Horus seemed to have figured out that Wei Wuyin had sent everyone away with a single thought, completely shaken by this development, it lost all leverage within a split second!
“WAIT!!! WAIT!!! WAIT!!!” It screamed out thrice in such a shocking manner that it felt like an echo!
Wei Wuyin didn’t aim for the eight doors, his right hand clenched into a fist as Alpha Origin Mystic Force surged majestically forth, containing the genesis of all things, and the ability to assimilate and manipulate all things! Wei Wuyin threw a single punch!
A vortex of punctured space and time was created as the fist force flowed smoothly across both mediums, smashing against the unseen, hidden Horus!!!
BOOSH!!!
The entire world shook and the array went wild for a brief moment! That single attack could have severely injured or outright killed Sage Springfield! Yet this barely shook the world! One could tell just how sturdy this Land of Manu’s core was!
Wei Wuyin frowned as he solidly placed both feet on a platform of mana, gathering Alpha Origin Mystic Force in both hands as he drew from the depths of his base strength, and was about to launch a solid, simple yet perfect one-two combat.
“Here’s a method to undo the False Door Soul-Bound Attunement on the souls!” Horus instantly offered, sending out a chaotic diffusion of spiritual information. If Wei Wuyin launched his attack, the information would disperse immediately.
‘False-Door Soul-Bound Attunement?’ Wei Wuyin held back as he used his Celestial Eyes to dissect the information before sending it to his Second Mind to study. He didn’t need his Second Mind to understand the effects of the False-Door Soul-Bound Attunement.
As he learned more, his expression visibly changed. How outrageous! But he didn’t dwell on this, and only retracted his power, and with a bright, sunny smile, he said laughingly:
“See. It wasn’t that serious.”
The vast sandy desert began to refill itself, and the array and world began to repair under Horus’ anxious attempts. Wei Wuyin could see that the space where his Saber Intent had split apart the void, the repairs were extensively ongoing and hadn’t stopped since. This Horus was completing multiple tasks continuously at a high efficiency, a sign of incredible division of the psyche.
“…” Horus didn’t reply immediately. Wei Wuyin could feel the gaze of rage.
Then, those who were taken from the Land of Manu found themselves back to where they were. Wei Wuyin hadn’t transported them out but sent them temporarily into the void under a newfound bloodline power of his known as Void Shell. While its name was simple, it simply enveloped an object or lifeform in a protective shell to resist the inhospitable effects of the Void such as the gargantuan exposure of information.
Wei Wuyin could execute Void Traversal and survive due to his bloodline, but dragons were known as hoarders and loved to place their treasures in obscure places in the tales of the Myriad Yore Continent. This had some truth to it. For Spatial Dragons, they used their Internal Worlds within them or Secret Realms established as their base for their hoards, but it seemed the Void Bloodline had changed that and incorporated the entire Void. Or at the very least, the amount that Wei Wuyin’s Void Draconic Mystic Force can expand to and maintain!
With this bloodline ability, theoretically, Wei Wuyin could store entire worlds within the Void, and not some spatial dimensional layer or subrealm-like space such as an Internal World, and using Void Anchor, he could have it travel with him. By enveloping others, he could temporarily house them in the Void. It was truly heaven-defying!
Wei Wuyin finally had access to the complete Mark of Mystic Myth’s First Level abilities after entering the Mystic Ascendant Realm.
“What do you want?” Horus’ voice resounded with rumbling anger.
“Me?” Wei Wuyin pointed at himself with a curious blink as his lips turned into a friendly smile. “I just want to talk. Like civilized cultivators, Emperor to Divinity.”
“…” Horus.
There were many things Wei Wuyin didn’t know about the Resonant Soul Realm, and this existence certainly had information regarding it! Meanwhile, he had already sent the reversal method to Su Mei for her to handle.
