Parallel – A Virtual Reality. - Chapter 84
The outside of Hellish Town was filled with a gruesome sight as bodies of demons were piled everywhere. Many places over Hellish Town were also destroyed as if a massive earthquake had razed through.
Many lifeless human bodies were in between those monsters as carnage had occurred. Many were of players, but some were of the natives.
Eroda kept holding onto the seal as if his life depended on it, and after some time it started to be more manageable. But that didn’t make Eroda happier.
Instead, it made him sadder as he grits his teeth. The undulations of magic power around him were horrifying, but even with that much power, he simply felt helpless.
‘If only I was stronger… if only Plate was still alive’
Despite those feelings, Eroda didn’t turn his eyes off the field for even one second, as he was carving everything into his mind.
His friends move to protect their people, sacrificing their lives for Hellish Town.
On the main battlefield, a small ice blue dragon lay on the ground. Unblemished was its skin, with its eyes closed as if sleeping peacefully.
But Eroda knew, that sleep would be eternal.
In front of that sleeping Dragon, the huge Worm of Pestilence laid death, half of its body frozen while the other half crushed apart.
But even in death, it propagated its intense venomous aura, but thanks to the Dragon’s aura it was restrained.
On the other side, were two smaller bodies. Demonic Centaur Ira also had frost around his body as he moved to ‘shake it off’, but he couldn’t, as it slowly gnaws on his skin.
Ira’s body had bruises all around him as even one some of his fingers were gone. Even then, his face was still filled with only wrath.
And in front of that Demonic Centaur was another demon.
Its body is pitch black with small spike-like protuberances on its body fully sculpted with muscles. The eyes of that demon shone calmly with a blood-red color. If anyone saw it they would instantly ȧssociate it with a horrible demon.
But that same demon was Eroda’s friend.
No hesitance over his actions nor sadness over the death of that Dragon.
In his eyes lay pure and indiscriminate will to kill.

On the battlefield, everyone started going all out. Tyrfing had long since activated Carnival of the Warriors as she waved her sword savagely to kill as many monsters as she could.
She didn’t even care about injuries as she knew that Juran would heal her right after. Hell, even if he didn’t do anything, his aura would end up healing her anyways.
Juran stayed in the middle of the battlefield protected by Isa as he wielded his club shining with a Divine Aura. Isa, as a good Paladin, protected everyone from attacks with well-timed movements.
Despite that, urgency showed in their action as they noticed that Kagito was on the verge of dying.
‘If he dies that would be troublesome’
Tyrfing looks at the battlefield and she knew they would win here.
‘But if that monster Dorek fully awaken the casualties are just going to increase even more’
The battlefield was already desolate with the death of many people. Even then, they didn’t dare to stop for even a second.
She noticed Jules, Isca, and Vladi making way to go towards Dorek as fast as possible, but it would be hard to arrive there before Kagito’s death.
Tyrfing grits her teeth, and she shouts, “ISA, JURAN LEAVE THIS PLACE TO ME, GO!”
Isa and Juran stop for a brief moment and then turn around as fast as they could to support Jules and the rest, soon converging. With that, they bulldozed their way through towards Dorek like a comet.
But the pressure on Tyrfing’s side increased as she kept slashing enemies constantly.
She noticed with her side view them arriving towards Dorek, but then, his powers increased even more as a turbulent storm started brewing over there.
‘Shit, was it too late?’
Tyrfing looks with eyes wide open, and then she sees it. An opening on Dorek.
And without wasting a single second, she shouts with all her power.
“GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!”
———————————————————
Aren feels his muscles heating even more as he moved. In his eyes, the world reflected in slow motion. His entire body aligned with his attacks, making Dorek step backward.
Arksen’s spear shines with a glorious martial sine as he attacks Dorek with intense power, creating more injuries on the prince.
Sadly, the drawback of that way of fighting was that it left his whole body unprotected. Thus, Arksen was already in an almost critical condition as injuries with more injuries piled on top of his body.
His spear moves like a flood dragon with fearless intent towards Dorek.
Dorek sweeps its tail but a Barbarian clash with it, sending him flying. Unable to continue in the battle anymore. But thanks to that, the spear of Arksen manages to hit once more directly.
Dorek growls in fury as powerful undulations sweep at them, sending them backward.
Arksen clenches his teeth as he looks at Dorek. Then he notices the party of Isa and company and widens his eyes.
The healing power of Juran reaches them as Aren feels a warm divine power reaching his aching body.
But relief soon vanishes as they feel a violent storm surging from Dorek as more power coalesces in him.
Intense pressure falls on everyone as they hold their weapons tightly.
“HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!”
Kagito shouts angrily as blood comes out of his mouth. And along with that shout, the power of Dorek becomes erratic, chaotically sweeping everywhere while he holds his head.
“GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!”
Aren and every one step forward at that shout.
As if magic connected everyone, they all moved synchronized.
——————————————————-
I look at Arksen moving his spear with intense power, even more than on previous occasions as I immediately realize he is betting everything in this last attack.
But then, my intuition makes me realize something is wrong. Just for a very brief moment, I feel like my sword is moving against my will.
As a warrior of the village of Gardan, that is unacceptable. I frown and stop, feeling that is the best choice.
Everyone attacks together, harmoniously, so much that my stopping became like disarray and chaos in a beautiful composition. But that makes me even more sure of my decision.
The rest of my Barbarians companions are still in the battle attack with Arksen, pushing him to give the attack of honor.
Just as they are close to attacking Dorek, a cold glint shows on his eyes, a field of ice surrounding him, attacking everyone.
But their synchronization comes into play as the Barbarian keep the attack off.
Arksen stomps forward as he appears almost instantly in front of Dorek, piercing with his spear shining with martial aura and darkness mixing.
A tremendous amount of power comes out of that pierce as Dorek receives it fully, but without caring for that attack, he slashes with his halberd.
Aegis Shield appears in front of Arksen, parrying the attack just enough.
An enormous amount of power behind his slash comes.
Dorek is pierced by Arksen’s spear and growls painfully, letting his Halberd go. Then tries to defend himself against Isca’s slash, but a bullet appears, and he manages to bȧrėly evade it, piercing his shoulder. Because of that, the attack of Isca falls cleanly on Dorek.
A growl of fury comes out of Dorek, as his chaotic power creates shockwaves on the field, but then, it becomes orderly.
Calmness surrounds Dorek as he looks coldly at Isca and Arksen.
Both of their eyes shrink like needles as they are frozen stiff.
‘Dorek didn’t let go of his Halberd because of the pain, but because he was preparing magic!’
I think as I grip my sword but do not dash forward, killing my presence thanks to the Chaos.
Dorek then freezes Isca and Arksen as he exhales.
‘NOW!’
I stomp forward with each cell of my body burning up.
Dorek’s face tenses up as he looks at me, and he prepares to attack me.
But Arksen bȧrėly moving twist his spear on Dorek’s body, making him growl and sending him flying with his tail.
I appear in front of Dorek, using each energy that my body gives me as I prepare to slash towards Dorek.
He tries to attack me again, but Isca does the same as Arksen and he is kicked by Dorek.
Then, a bullet appears on Dorek’s trajectory again, with him bȧrėly evading it from falling on his head, but thanks to that, I had already positioned my sword overhead.
My whole body was burning up as I feel like my blood is evaporating. But I don’t care as I focus my everything on this attack.
Dorek then growls with raging fury as he screams.
“GARDAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN!”
Without care of his life, his eyes become unfocused as he attacks me with his claw.
A huge amount of chaotic power comes from Dorek as I notice Kagito swaying.
The image of Azalea comes to my mind as I remember her beautiful smile.
‘I wish I could make you smile more’
I grip my sword even tighter as I roar while slashing down.
Aegis Shield appears in front of me, parrying the attack of Dorek for a very brief moment.
Enough time for my sword to fall and slash diagonally at Dorek, creating a huge wound on his body.
But it is not enough to stop the motion of Dorek’s attack as it breaks open the Aegis shield and pierces my plexus.
Blood comes out from my mouth as an intense ache runs through my body.
I look at Dorek, him furiously watching me, or well, Gardan, and I proudly tell him.
“I am Aren, from Gardan Village!”
Dorek’s cloudy eyes become clear again as he looks at me. Blood dripping out of its mouth and the rest of its body.
“Bas…tard…”
Uttering those words, he falls, life leaving his body as he takes out his claws from me.
Satisfaction comes to me as every last bit of power leaves my body.
The storm lifts as a beautiful sky shows.
Before I notice it, my body had already collapsed on the floor as I hear the distant voices of my friends.
Everything becomes distant as I feel something warm embracing me. A voice enters my ears as I relax on this peaceful sensation while looking at the vastness of the heavens.
“Aren, do you wish to say something?”
The beautiful smile of Azalea comes to my mind while I close my eyes.
“Azalea… you should… smile more”
Aren, the Barbarian, kills Dorek and dies on the field.
