Part Time Star Full Time Dad - Chapter 49
Theodore was both scared and excited. He was excited to finally see what a physical prize entails but scared by the image of his nose taking up 90 % of his face.
Theodore began to ponder ‘It doesn’t say that it needs to be original so I can just sing a song from my past life but there are so many songs to pick from. It should be simple and heartwarming nothing with an underline tone or words that mean other things. It should also also relate to the charity’
“I got it,” Said Theodore out loud after going through his memory of the music in his last life.
Mary looked at him suspiciously before a weird glint shone in her eyes as she called to the director “Mr Lake I have the perfect fill in, right here”
Seeing Mary take the initiative Theodore accepted the task.
Mary had done her research before coming here and made sure to remember the directors name which is Adam Lake and his assistant, Helen Mavis
She pushed Theodore forward with a proud smile before pulling out her phone and saying “Listen, this is a song he wrote and sang”
Adam listened for a few second and said “Stop I know the song. That’s one good song and it could be just good editing. I can’t put my hopes on a one-hit-wonder”
“Do it. I’ve seen clips of his stream its all him” Said An aged voice
Looking in the direction of the voice they saw Mr Thompson and his family.
Bella ran into Theodore and hugged his leg While showing a happy smile.
Theodore brushed her hair to the side and asked: “How did I do?”
Bella stopped hugging him and signed excitedly ‘So amazing. Can I play with the bubbles?’
Theodore nodded as he pulled out a new bottle of bubbles and passed it over and said “Sorry Bella, It’s not magic bubbles”
‘Its okay bubbles are bubbles’ Signed Bella before twisting the lid off and blowing as many bubbles as possible with a happy smile
Grace looked at her daughters interaction with a Theodore and thought ‘Really, just a great guy’
“Are you sure Mr Thompson? This is supposed to be grand finale” Said Adam cautiously
Mr Thompson continues to insist “Trust me, Adam. The young man is something else I wouldn’t be surprised if he had an original song to sing”
Theodore was moderately shocked by the amount of confidence Mr Thomson had for him before raising his head proudly and saying “I do have an original song that would fit the giving theme but can I borrow a piano and two vintage mics”
“You have a song!” Said, Everyone including Mr Thompson in shock
Even though Mr Thompson said he wouldn’t be surprised but he still couldn’t help it.
“You heard Mr Thompson now go wheel the piano on to the stage and go look for two vintage mics. Do you need anything else?” Asked Adam
“Hmm. . . do you guys by any chance have a montage of all the people you helped it doesn’t need to be video? I just need a before and after picture of the charity helping people” Said Theodore
“Okay, I take it you want it playing behind?” Said, Adam
“Yes, please” Said Theodore while nodding
“Okay, we have 10 minutes to prep. This is the grand finale people triple check the fireworks and confetti cannon. Helen get Theodore a warm drink and a place to practice. Also, get me coffee and an aspirin” Said Adam as everyone within the veracity got to work.
Theodore, Mary and Mr Thompson’s family were escorted back to thier private room where he did some vocal exercises and played with a keyboard.
Theodore sent a clone to help with adding a few finishing touches. Several minutes passed before he was once again called upon to get ready.
Just as he was leaving Mary called “Wait, Theo, have you got it copyrighted?”
“Huh no can you do it for me? All my copyright work is on OriginCopys app. Here’s my phone” Said Theodore before pulling his phone out and putting the app up.
Of course, Theodore wasn’t as dumb enough to just pass her his phone full of adult back and forth messages with Sophie, no every app on his phone is fingerprint locked.
But Theodore forgot about his other secret that is on his phone.
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Once again Theodore was waiting for his introduction.
Instead of being behind the stage the curtain we’re closed with a grand piano placed at the centre. On the piano was a shinning silver vintage mic and another standing mic behind it.
Before getting into the position he took off his suit jacket, tie and top hat, then rolled up his sleeves and untucked his shirt from his pants.
He then ran his hand through his hair giving it a more messy look than the original tamed gel style.
His original look was too theatrical now he looked more appropriate for the song that he picked out.
On the other side of the curtains Daniel was introducing Theodore “Due to unforeseen circumstances Charlie Puff is unable to perform, So we have Theodore Hunt joining us again on the stage with an original song,”
The curtains pulled back and revealed Theodore sat at the piano with his clones on the standing mic ready to provide back up vocals.
Theodore leaned into the mic and said “I didn’t think we’d see each other so early but things happen and now I’m here again. I hope you enjoy, this is Lean On Me”
(Song: Lean On Me Songwriters: Bill Withers)
Theodore’s fingers began to slowly press the keys as a simple and soulful tune spread across the stadium.
After a second of pure piano music, he began to hum with the tune.
Behind Theodore a montage of all the clips previously shown played behind him.He then sang in a low voice filled with trouble and hope.
“~Sometimes in our lives we all have pain
We all have sorrow
But if we are wise
We know that there’s always tomorrow~”
As he got to the chorus his tone got higher with every word carrying power and compassion.
“~Lean on me, when you’re not strong
And I’ll be your friend
I’ll help you carry on
For it won’t be long
‘Til I’m gonna need
Somebody to lean on~”
The camera zoomed into Theodore’s face as his kind eyes and smile appeared.
“~Please swallow your pride
If I have things you need to borrow
For no one can fill those of your needs
That you won’t let show
You just call on me brother, when you need a hand
We all need somebody to lean on
I just might have a problem that you’ll understand
We all need somebody to lean on~”
Theodore’s song had already won over the audience whether it be the live one’s or the ones watching through the screen.
“~Lean on me, when you’re not strong
And I’ll be your friend
I’ll help you carry on
For it won’t be long
‘Til I’m gonna need
Somebody to lean on~”
The crowd listened intently as their bodies sway and their mouths open and sing along to the chorus.
“You just call on me brother, when you need a hand
We all need somebody to lean on
I just might have a problem that you’ll understand
We all need somebody to lean on.
If there is a load you have to bear
That you can’t carry
I’m right up the road
I’ll share your load”
Theodore poured his heart and soul into every note his fingers created and every word that escaped his mouth.
A rendition of spiritual growth spread to anyone listening. Most of the crowd and those at home had grabbed their friends and family and sang along.
“If you just call me (call me)
If you need a friend (call me) call me uh huh (call me) if you need a friend (call me) If you ever need a friend (call me) Call me (call me) call me (call me) call me (Call me) call me (call me) if you need a friend (Call me) call me (call me) call me (call me) call me (call me) call me (call me)”
With the last piano note, a beautiful silence fell as the video behind him continued to play a montage of families and children and many others thanking the charity.
“Thank you for my job . . . . . Thank you for helping me feed my family. . . .Thank you Comforting The Struggle for saving mommy” The clip ended with a little boy at his mother’s ward holding her hand.
Every single person in the crowd stood up and clapped with some just shouting and whistling to recognise that it was an incredible performance.
This included Bethany who joined the clapping with a fake smile and ill intended eyes.
Theodore stood up from the piano seat and bowed with his clones.
The curtains closed but the applause continued and proceeded to get louder.

Theodore’s brain fizzled out as he reread the description for physical rewards “Thi-this is so broken!”
Theodore couldn’t help but get excited at what future physical rewards could do.
After a moment of excitement, Theodore was further praised by the Director and his staff before being met the over-enthusiastic Mary who hugged him.
“Oh my God, that was unbelievable. My phone has been blowing up none stop with invites to an exclusive interview” Said Mary as she hugged the life out of his lungs.
“Hahaha It was okay I guess” Said Theodore
“That was a great show and even better song,” Said Grace with her usual emotionless face
“You really are something. During your performance, we made an additional two million dollars. So I thank you as the owner of the charity and a new fan” Said Mr Thompson
Bella was next as she signed excitedly ‘Super super amazing’
The show came to a close as Theodore and Mary said their goodbyes.
Grace hugged Theodore slipping a note into his pocket. Theodore didn’t even notice the note as his mind was too preoccupied with the soft clouds of meat pressed against his chest.
“You guys should come over sometimes. Tell me when your free and I’ll prepare dinner” Said Theodore after losing the fluffy feeling on his chest.
‘Yes let’s do it’ Signed Bella excitedly
“We’ll tell you whenever Grace is off work. She’s a workaholic and for the last time just call me George” Said, Mr Thompson
“Thank you once again for the invite we’ll see you soon. Bye” Said, Mary
“Bye see you soon,” Said Theodore as they left the building
. . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Theodore got back into Mary’s run-down rust bucket. Before Mary got the chance to start the car Theodore asked “Oh can I have my phone back”
Mary looked at him with a squint as she says “Sure but first. Did you know that you had to accounts on OriginCopys? One is you, Theodore Hunt and the other is Lonely Hunt. Lonely Hunt is an uprising indie sensation as one article put it. I just wanna know why didn’t you tell me”
Theodore gave a confused shrug and said: “I forgot?”
“Not funny. Seriously I’m literally the only agent that has a star trying to stay low-key” Said Mary before passing the phone over and starting the car
“Haha I was kidding I just wanted to see how popular it would be without the use of my fanbase or my name attached to it,” Said, Theodor
“Hmmm you did the same thing for your novel, right? Should I just expect you create a new alias whenever you branch off to new things” Said Mary suspiciously
Theodore gave a nervous laugh and said “Ha ha ha no of course not”
“Sigh what kind of star did I get?” Said Mary while driving
Theodore joked “The most handsome and talented kind”
They then drove home to get some much-needed rest.
