Part Wolf - Chapter 114 Chapter 113
Both the boys had transformed into huge brown wolves. Unlike her mate’s mane, their’s was a dirtier shade, appearing quite unattractive to her. The girl, on the other hand, had a mane of deep black shade. As she moved gracefully between the boys, she looked like a regal creature- beautiful and strong. Her brown eyes shined like pools of honey as the sun’s rays fell on them. But she was tired, looking at how she was panting heavily trying to dodge the grouped blows of the brown wolves.
Elize felt pity for the girl and moved towards the group. As soon as they felt her presence, the three tried to disperse quickly. But Elize was quicker. She caught one of the brown wolves by the skin on the back of his neck and threw him high up in the sky. Taking off right after him, she extended her claws and slammed them right into his tummy, piercing through his flesh. She moved away before the wolf tried desperately to scratch her back. She landed in the middle of the ground. Just as he was about to hit the ground, she smacked the middle of his backbone with such a force that his body flew straight outside the circle.
“Aaaaaaaaaaooooowwww!” The injured wolf howled in pain, landing amidst the crowd.
She turned away as the seniors quickly gathered around the injured wolf. The other two remaining wolves were eyeing her warily.
“Two minutes remaining!” One of the seniors warned.
Elize waited patiently for the attack to come at her. Nobody had landed a single blow on her so far. And if the match were to end now, she’d be declared as the winner. Knowing that must start to bother them right about now, she thought, smirking internally. Just as she had predicted, the two wolves launched straight at her in the very next second. Since she had a soft spot for the female wolf, she wanted to let her off easy. She took off into the sky, surprising both of her opponents.
Appearing behind the two in a flash, she hit the black wolf on her posterior with all her strength. The wolf barked in surprise, but couldn’t stop herself from landing outside the circle. Her body hit the ground with a brute force, making her yelp in pain. But Elize knew that it was nothing compared to what she would have gone through if she had chosen to stay on and fight her. She retreated towards the other end of the circle, assessing her remaining opponent.
“Grrrrrrr.” The brown wolf threatened her with a low growl.
With a fierce growl, the wolf took off towards her at lightning speed. Elize readied herself for the attack, leaning forward with sharpened ears. But as he came close, she had failed to notice the fact that he had no intention to attack her right away. While being ready for a blow, she was not prepared for what had happened next. The wolf bent low, quickly grabbing some sand from the ground and threw it right into her eyes. Surprised, Elize staggered back, with dust in her eyes. She blinked and rubbed her eyes vigorously, irritated at the feeling. She roared in anger at the cheap move.
Taking advantage of the situation, he swung his claws in full force at her. But Elize was sharp enough to sense the movement. Judging by the sound of his heartbeat and the change in the air’s pressure, she dodged the attack, moving quickly to where she guessed was his back. With cleared vision, Elize now launched right at his neck in full force. Her claws pierced his neck, cutting into his jugular. Blood gushed out of the wound as his body slammed against the ground, with her full weight pressed onto him. With her other hand, she slashed at his back, cutting deep into his flesh.
The whistle went off, again and again, announcing the end of the match. But Elize couldn’t stop. She thrust her caws into his backbone, rupturing the continuity of the structure.
Suddenly several hands were on her, trying to pull her off of him. Elize struggled, but gradually let go of her grip on the heavily bleeding wolf. She was pulled back outside the circle with strong hands. Lang Jin and Nina kept their strong grip on her until she reached the spot where she had kept her towel.
“Quickly change,” Nina whispered, putting the towel around her.
Elize shifted and hastily wrapped the towel around her torso.
“Are you okay?” Lang Jin asked, a look of concern flashing on his face momentarily.
“Uhh.. yeah I got annoyed for a moment. It’s fine now.” She replied warily.
She didn’t get why Lang Jin was suddenly acting nice to her. Did Zack say something to him? She thought suspiciously.
“Here. Put these on.” Nina said, handing over her clothes.
Elize nodded, taking them off of her hand. She put her clothes on with the towel underneath, quickly finishing it off, wary of the eyes on her. Just as she finished zipping up her jeans, she heard angry footsteps approaching from behind. She turned around with raised brows, not understanding what it was about.
“What is wrong with you Elize?!” Eun Ae shouted, walking up to her. “Do you want to kill him too?!”
Elize was taken aback by her words. Why did Eun Ae seem to be on edge today? And what kind of nonsense was she talking about right now? She wondered.
“What do you want to say Eun Ae?” Elize asked. Her brows creased in irritation.
Eun Ae huffed, folding her hands above her chest.
“You don’t remember what you did, do you?” She asked with narrowed eyes. “Of course, you don’t! The only thing that you know how to do is cling on to men for attention. First the prince and now Zack?!”
“Eun Ae!” Nina warned, stepping forward. Her nostrils flared in anger.
Elize looked back and forth the two wolves. What was this about now? Dread filled her, as the scenes from her dream flashed in her mind. She could see the exposed neck of the corpse with a large chunk of flesh missing from it.
“No!” Eun Ae shouted, refusing to back down. Her voice raised as her finger pointed towards Elize, “This bitch thinks that she can get away with murder! And I don’t know why you all are trying to cover it up for her! What is so special about her?! She’s just a damn murderer!”
Elize staggered back, suddenly unable to breathe. A murderer? Was she a murderer? The bleeding corpse flashed in her mind over and over again. Suddenly the memories came back to her. She remembered everything, from the time that the boy had thrown the first pebble at her. Guilt gripped at her heart, squeezing the life out of it, making her clutch her chest in pain. A murderer- she had killed a boy! The sentence repeated in her mind in an unending loop. She let out a whimper, tears falling down her eyes steadily.
“Enough!” Nina shouted, making Eun Ae shiver in fear. Turning to Elize, she extended her hand towards her and said, “Elize, here, take my hand.”
“I-” Elize hesitated, staring at her friend’s hand blankly.
“Come, I’ll take you back to the room,” Nina said, grabbing her hand.
Elize stared at the ground blankly. She could hear the whisper of her classmates around her. The ones who were looking at her with awe were now looking at her in fear. A few others looked at her in disgust and anger.
“She killed someone?”
“Oh my God! How could she?”
“And here I thought that she was trying to be better.”
“I can’t believe she made them cover it up for her.”
The whispers kept poking at her already bleeding heart.
“Let’s go Elize.” Nina urged, trying to make her move from the spot.
Elize nodded. Looking Eun Ae dead in the eyes, she gritted her teeth. Taking a deep breath, to control herself, she said, “If I was a murderer, you wouldn’t be standing there talking to me like that Eun Ae.”
“How dare you!” Eun Ae shouted, her face turning red in anger.
“Shut up Eun Ae! We’ll see how Zack deals with this when he comes back tomorrow. Be ready for your consequences.” Nina warned angrily. Turning back towards Elize she put on a tight smile and said, “Come Elize, let’s go.”
Elize followed her friend towards the exit, all the while the pain in her heart intensifying.
“Why the hell would you do that Eun Ae?! She’s innocent!” She heard Lang Jin shout behind her.
