Pastry Chef Sheya - Volume 1 Chapter 2 Sugar Crush
Sheya arrived in the cafe early. She pre- heat the ovens, made the batters and frostings, chopped fresh fruits and mixed different infusions for the coffees and teas.
Karen and her cousin Mark were in front, cleaning, decorating and filling the pantry with freshly baked items. They downloaded new songs and played it to create a happy and relaxed atmosphere.
And at last, it was 10 AM in the morning. SheyButter Cafe is officially open for business.
Two young couples are the first to arrive. ” I will have a red velvet cupcake and hot chocolate. My partner will have black coffee and waffles topped with blueberries and syrup” the lady said.
They were soon followed by a mom with 3 young children. She ordered 3 chocolate cupcakes, 3 milk teas and one hot peppermint green tea. Then a group of friends arrived and ordered all kinds of cupcakes and frappes. It was one busy morning.
Later that afternoon, Sheya finally emerged from the kitchen and took a well deserved sit on the couch. She was so tired and hungry and immediately stuffed her mouth with tuna pie and she washed it with cold peach tea.
” I cant believe we will be this busy on our first day!” She exclaimed. I thought it will take weeks or even months for us to attract huge numbers of customers and thank God I hoarded the kitchen with enough supplies or else we will be in trouble!” She said with a relief.
The ingredients she thought would last for a week were all consumed in just one day.
Tired but feeling so accomplished, she threw herself straight to bed without even washing when she arrived back to her apartment.
