Pastry Chef Sheya - Volume 1 Chapter 24 Sparkling Sheya
Sheya did not hesitate to use the voucher for a free spa and massage. She needed to calm down to release all the tensions she had. Her body was first scrubbed with sea salt then covered by mud from the Dead Sea before having her facial and head massage.
It was so relaxing she fell asleep once again and had a dream about Toby.
In her dream, Toby was waiting for her at the airport back home. They kissed and decided to start again. It was surreal and she woke up with tears in her eyes.
A hot tea was served and she felt fresh, clean, light and soft as a petal.
She decided to call Carl later that day to personally thank him for all the help he had done for her.
Sheya: Carl, I want to say thank you. I really appreciate your presence, your concern and your understanding even though I was nuts the entire time we met.
Carl: All good. How’s the spa?
Sheya: It was good. It was relaxing and pampering as well. Thank you.
Carl: Glad you like it. Listen, I called the airport just now, they said that all flights are still grounded for 2 days until further noticed. One of my college friends are stuck here as well. Let’s have dinner and see how we can make the most of our time here.
Sheya: Oh, ok. Thanks for inviting me.
When she returned to her room, she realised that she had no evening nor formal outfit for dinner. She wanted to look respectable and decent this time, different from the disheveled, hysterical version of her that Carl saw.
She made a quick trip to the boutiques inside as well as those nearby the hotel to pick a nice and cute dress that she could wear.
” You are not going to pair that gorgeous dress with those awful looking flats you’re wearing, am I right? Asked by an old lady with a smile on her face.
“My grandmother and her grandmother owned this dress shop for generations and it was handed down to me. I knew exactly what a woman need from the minute I saw one. If you may, let me help you.” She explained.
” You have a very long legs, I recommend this red dress with a high slit and pair it with these jewelled stilettos with crystals on it” She added.
After trying the outfit on..
Sheya: Oh my God.. it’s so beautiful… and the shoes.. I feel so special
Old woman: Indeed, we are all special. We just need to find our inner sparkle and let it shine. Now, I want you to throw that hair band or ponytail band, whatever you call that in your country. It’s for old woman like me. I want you to let your hair down and part it sideways to one side of your neck.
Sheya: Wait a minute, I’m not going on a date. It’s just dinner so stop thinking that I have to sed cue some one or what but that’s so sweet of you.
Old woman: See, that’s my point. You don’t need to seduce or impress someone to make yourself feel and look special.. It is our duty to treat ourselves like it is our special day everyday because one can’t give what one do not have.
Those words penetrated deep into her heart. The old lady was right. For a long time, she stopped looking after herself. Even when she was with Toby, she would just wake up, wash her face and tie her hair. She couldn’t remember the last time she dressed up for him..
Carl told her to wait at the lobby at 8:30 in the evening.
That night, she saw him with another male companion, presumably the friend he was talking about. She greeted both of them and for the first time since they met, she noticed how good looking and well groomed Carl is..
Carl was speechless.. she didn’t noticed Sheya at first because she looked so elegant.. so different.. like someone straight from the magazine.. she looked flawless..
