Pastry Chef Sheya - Volume 1 Chapter 40 Sheya And Sophie
The doctor ordered her to rest for one whole week and to avoid stressful situations. He also prescribed medications for her wound as well as vitamins for the baby.
She finally told Karen about the whole truth and asked her to manage the cafeteria while she recuperate.
Karen sent her youngest sister Sophie to stay with Sheya as long as she needed her.
Sophie was a charming and pretty young teenager. She had this happy disposition and sweet aura around her. She made sure to always put fresh flowers at the table to brighten everyone’s day. Sheya became instantly fond of her.
Sheya: How come you are not in school?
Sophie: We don’t have enough money. Mama is caring for my papa who has diabetes. His medications are quite expensive that’s why I stopped going to school so I could help them. I worked for an old lady who was all alone. I cooked for her and cleaned her house everyday. In return, she allowed me to eat for free and also provided my wages which I always give to my parents.
Sheya: About the old lady, isn’t she looking for you? Who’s working for her now?
Sophie: Ohh, she passed away about a month ago so to earn an extra income, I helped our neighbor for her flower shop. It was so fun.. I love flowers of all kinds, shapes and colours. I wanted to have one too in the future.
Sheya: Im sorry to hear about the old lady and Im sorry too for bringing you here at my boring apartment. You must really missed working at the flower shop.
Sophie: It’s okay. My sister used to tell me about you. You helped her a lot. You were one of the few people who believed in her abilities. It’s my pleasure to work for you now. I will make sure you got everything you need from clean, nice and warm clothes, sheets, foods.. And a fresh home to come back to every single night and day.
That night, Sophie made a delicious bowl of creamy carbonara which they shared while watching Netflix.
They ended the evening with a rich and hot cup of chocolate drinks.
It was the exact thing Sheya needed for her current condition.. a happy and relaxing home where she was being taken care of by a genuinely warm person to gather her strength back and to prepare herself for the ups and downs of pregnancy.
