Pastry Chef Sheya - Volume 1 Chapter 52 Sophies Place
Mark called her back after several hours and told her the bad news.. Sophie and Karen’s dad took his last breath was no longer with them.
Sheya’s contractions got stronger so she cut their conversation short and took her medications before laying on bed.
Her doctor told her to avoid stressful situations but she couldn’t help but feel sad for what happened.
Those girls were so dear to her and she wanted to console them in person but her condition wouldn’t let her leave her place.
She fell asleep and called Mark the moment she woke up. She told him to give Karen her advance salary and she could take all the time she need before going back to work.
5 days after their father passed away, Karen came back to work. She was visibly sad but she tried her best to do her job and thanked Sheya on the phone for the flowers she sent to her family.
Week passed by but Sophie didn’t return to Sheya’s apartment yet and she was becoming worried. She called Karen to check on the young lady and she said that Sophie was just inside her room and refused to talk to anyone including their mother. She barely eat and basically just sleeping day and night.
Against her doctor’s advice, Sheya gathered all her strength and went to Sophie’s house.
It was in the slum area surrounded by canals and there was a terrible smell.
She knocked on a small wooden house and an old lady opened the door. It was Sophie’s mom.
She offered Sheya some biscuits and a glass of water. She told her how Sophie took care of them, most especially her dad. She gave them all her salaries from working and almost kept nothing for herself.
” May I see her?” Sheya asked.
