Pastry Chef Sheya - Volume 1 Chapter 56 The Letter

” Congratulations.. a healthy baby girl!” The doctor said.

It was a long and painful delivery. The baby was born 3 weeks earlier than expected so Sheya was a bit unprepared and she had not packed any bags for her and the baby when Sophie and the newly hired personal chauffeur rushed her to the hospital.

Karen went to Sheya’s house and packed everything herself then went straight to see the new mom and the little girl.

” She’s so beautiful..” Sophie gushed while holding the baby’s tiny hand.

Pictures and videos were taken.. Karen, Mark and Henson took their turns to visit them. Sophie stayed by their side the whole time and she made sure to feed the new mom well.

The next day, an unexpected visitor showed up. It was Toby..

Sophie left the room to give them some privacy.

” I saw Karen’s facebook and she posted some photos of you and your little girl.. I want to congratulate you and to see how the two of you are doing.” He said

” I am doing good, the baby is perfectly healthy. Thank you for your concern.” She replied.

Toby looked at the baby and smiled.. He brought with him a basket full of small teddy bears and star- shaped pillows since he saw on Karen’s docial media that the baby’s name is Star.

” A lovely name for a lovely girl..” He said while he gave Sheya a bouquet of flowers.

” I went to visit you on your apartment but you were no longer there. The receptionist told me that you moved out and bought a new house.” He exclaimed.

” Oh yes, I decided it was time for me to get a real house that I can call home now that I’m no longer be by myself. I want my baby to have plenty of space to run free when she’s a bit older.. I took Sophie with me.. It’s our home now.” She explained.

” That’s so nice to hear.. I’m so happy and proud of you and all your accomplishments.. SheyButter Cafe is becoming well known. There is even a new branch that opened near my studio.” He said.

Several minutes passed and a nurse came to inform them that visiting hours was over. Toby got up and kissed Sheya’s forehead.

” I have out of town work tomorrow morning. My photography business is doing well. I got calls and clients all over the place and my studio is always full so I rented a bigger one. If it’s okay with you, I hope to visit you again and your baby in your home when I come back after 3 days” Toby asked.

” Of course.. that would be great.” She responded.

Toby left and Sheya looked at the basket that he gave. She then looked at the bouquet to smell the flowers and she noticed a small envelope on it.

She opened it and saw a letter from Toby.. She read it.. Tears started to fall in her eyes while she was holding it..

What was the letter all about? Why was she crying? We will learn about it soon!
