Path Of The Lilies - Chapter 347 Nothing to Lose
“They can’t just judge someone without any proof,” Cao Ren added. He was also holding a bun in his hand, but he hadn’t eaten it yet for he found it to be weird to eat while standing up. As a prince, he had never eaten food while standing.
“That’s very bothersome.”
“You won’t say that if you’re the one being judged.”
“Shut up!”
Mu Xin looked in Ye Jiao’s direction. She could see that the young girl was looking at one person with a weird glint in her eyes.
“Ye Jiao, is there anything wrong?”
“Huh? No, not really,” Ye Jiao replied slowly. Her eyes were still locked on Wei Xie. She could feel it very clearly. The Eon Energy in that girl’s body was totally different from yesterday. It was no longer the unstable newly formed core, but it has grown into a good core with only a little bit of time needed to reach rank 1.
Would it even be possible to reach rank 1 just a few days after forming one’s core?
Even she herself knew how ridiculous it was. She herself has to spend months just in order to strengthen her core and gather enough Eon Energy. This was the reason she found it weird that Wei Xie’s core seemed to change greatly overnight.
And there was just one thing that she could think caused this:
Absorbing other people’s core.
When they were fused their core together, the base rank would reach the middle of the two cores, and at the same time, they could gain more Eon Energy. This was a risky move that was not known to many people because of its peculiarity. After all, the chances of staying alive when doing the ritual was only one from a million.
She just had the feeling that Wei Xie must have used this method.
And succeed.
“What is it, Ye Jiao?” Qi Huan also noticed Ye Jiao’s strange glint. It was clearly different than what she usually showed.
“It’s nothing. Let’s eat and clean up before going out. I’m sure the place will be cleaned out when we get out later.”
“They have to clean it up,” Lu Wan agreed.
Cao Ren arched his eyebrows. “You seem to be familiar with each other.”
His words nearly caused Lu Wan to trip over nothing. He was actually already trying to create a distance between him and the other two. However, they just somehow reverted back to how they treated each other.
Habit is truly scary.
Qi Huan chuckled. “This brat is just insolent.”
“Who are you calling brat? I’m older than you!”
Ye Jiao smiled lightly when she saw the two of them. Her head moved to the back and glanced at Wei Xie once more. She could partially understand what was inside Wei Xie’s mind because she also used to be treated as trash.
Anything.
The feeling of despair and helplessness when facing those geniuses flaunting their prowess was still vivid in her mind. They mocked her, beat her up, and there was nothing that she could do to fight back. She couldn’t forget them. They were the reminder for her about how the world has been turning around in the hands of those who were born powerful and have everything in their hands.
For those at the bottom, there was nothing they could lose.
Nothing at all.
Because of that, they were willing to trade everything possible in their sleeves just in order to become much more powerful. To be able to get the necessary talent and power, they would basically give everything they had. She too had the same thought before she realized her path.
…
The group dispersed and took their rest before they gathered at the front gate. Ye Jiao arrived first and could see an elder standing midair. She was controlling the sand to move them back to their original position.
“Amazing,” Ye Jiao murmured.
The female elder turned her head to Ye Jiao. She smiled. “You’ll be able to achieve much more if you train hard, youngster.”
“Ah, thank you.”
The elder, Elder Xin, chuckled. She waved her hand and showed Ye Jiao how elemental specialization Eon Energy Master controls their power. Boundless Eon Energy spread from her hand as they started to move the earth and placed it back in its place. The grasses were long gone, but it has turned back into flat land.
Elder Xin looked over at Ye Jiao once more. “Good luck, little one.”
Afterwards, she disappeared.
Looking at the place where the elder once stood, Ye Jiao was still filled with respect and awe. She didn’t expect that she would be able to meet one of the elders so soon. Even though she had seen one in that sea of fire, that elder didn’t talk to her directly, so it was a completely different feeling.
“Oh, Ye Jiao, you’re already here?” Qi Huan greeted as he walked out.
“Yeah. I have finished eating and taking a bath,” Ye Jiao replied. “I can see that your guards are still following you.”
“They just don’t want to let this prince off.”
“Well, you’re an important figure to them.”
Qi Huan nodded. Actually, he was already ditching them once before when he rushed over to see the commotion. However, they found him again soon enough. It was truly unfortunate, but it didn’t seem like it would be possible for him to get away from his guards.
His silver hair stood out too much!
“What do you think the content of the next examination would be?”
“I’m not sure, but it should be something hard,” Ye Jiao shrugged. She couldn’t think of anything that they might be able to do for the examination. After all, she was highly unfamiliar with them all.
“Ye Jiao! You’re early!” Han Fu came running while waving his hand. His long hair was still wet, but he didn’t seem to care in the slightest. The blonde hair seemed to shine under the ray of light.
“Good morning, Han Fu,” Ye Jiao greeted politely. “How’s your progress with your practice?”
“It was smooth,” Han Fu made a victory sign with his two fingers. “In any case, the place where I have been staying was really fun! I never know that training could be so easy. It seems that I really have to learn much more about this path as illusive.”
“That’s good to hear.”
“How about your training? Is it not going well?”
“Ah, it’s fine,” Ye Jiao recalled her training and smiled a bit. For her, it was truly a suitable place to train because she could sense a large amount of Eon Energy coming to her body.
“Really?”
“Yes.”
“You’re not forcing yourself, right?”
“I’m not.”
As they were talking, more and more youngsters came into the location. Lu Wan obviously came nearly late as he was rushing. He got lost a bit in the city before he could find the right way to this place.
They were all busy chatting with one another and only quiet down when they saw Qin Zheng walking out of the gate. The young man hadn’t said anything, but they were all wary of him. After all, they still remembered how this young man would just cheat them off without caring for their heart.
“I want you to line up according to your weapon preferences,” Qin Zheng waved his hand and materialized his Eon Energy to form several shapes.
Looking at them, those who were at Eon Energy Master middle stage felt their heart dropped to the bottom. They were clearly at the same rank, but how come this young man was capable of materializing his Eon Energy to create a shape? They were not able to do that no matter what they did.
Qin Zheng smiled. “Sword on the very right, axe beside them, spear afterwards, blades next to them, what else are the weapons you have? Well, these four first and those who didn’t have to use any of these stands on the very left.”
The youngsters moved speedily. The one with the most numbers was obviously the sword as nearly half of them went to that place immediately. It was known that the sword was popular, so Qin Zheng didn’t find it weird. After a large number of sword users, it was axe, spear, and blades with nearly the same number. The last one would be those who didn’t have any of those.
Currently, there were only five of them.
“What’s your weapon?” Qin Zheng asked them. “Say it one by one starting from that twin-tail girl.”
“My weapon is a fan.”
“It’s a hammer for me.”
“I use a chain that’s connected to a blade,” Lu Wan shrugged. He could see a lot of people were looking in his direction with an astonished gaze. Some of them were even filled with maliciousness, but he didn’t really care. It was the truth, and he knew for sure that they would be able to guess that he must be someone who worked as an assassin.
After all, assassins were the only ones who used that type of weapon.
