Path Of The Lilies - Chapter 353 End of the Tests
Bam!
Clouds of dust scattered as the soldiers were thrown to the back. Many of them were confused as to why this large man would suddenly appear in this place. After all, they were located far back in the rear.
“Get away!”
“Guh!”
Ye Jiao evaded the attack as she turned her body around. Looking at the forest behind the large man, she could guess that he must have used it as a cover. Even though there was a forest not far from the battle, it was quite a distance away from the opponent’s camp. It was connected to the right side of their camp, which was also the place where she stayed.
“Hey, little girl, get away!”
Bam!
Using her Eon Energy to strengthen her leg, Ye Jiao jumped to the back. Her eyes widened in astonishment. That last strike was definitely imbued with Eon Energy, a strong one at that as the dirt was splattered.
“Gee, what’s this monster doing here at the back?”
“Call the commander! We’re getting annihilated here.”
Tsk
Ye Jiao clicked her tongue and dashed from her position. Her dagger was swung horizontally as she attacked the large man’s stomach.
Clang!
As if sensing she would come, the large man blocked her attack. His eyes were looking in her direction with a dangerous glint.
“Don’t interfere, brat!”
“Heh,” somersaulting midair, Ye Jiao landed on the ground with her feet below. She smirked slightly and dashed towards the large man once again, this time her legs moved even faster than before.
Clang! Clang! Clang!
Series of metal clashing filled the area. Ye Jiao didn’t stop attacking the man at all as her dagger continued to dance. Even though the man was already doing his best to put up his defense, her attack scratches his body bit by bit.
Slash!
After a few seconds, Ye Jiao dealt with him cleanly. The other soldiers behind the man were terrified and rushed back into the forest. They were too afraid to face them without their leader.
After all, moral support was important.
“That’s quite tiring,” Ye Jiao smiled.
“Woaaah!”
The other soldiers were cheering loudly. Looking at their excited face, Ye Jiao felt as if she was truly inside a battlefield as part of these soldiers. The relief when they found out that they would survive and their happiness to see the large man was defeated was extremely clear in their expression.
She felt as if she had truly become part of them.
“You’re amazing!” the soldier that has been accompanying her showed her a thumbs up.
“Thank you.”
“I’m sure the commander will give you…”
“Little girl.”
“Yes, Commander,” Ye Jiao corrected her posture. She was not totally sure what she should say, but she had seen the soldiers in Wei Family before. They would all be very strict in their rules.
The commander looked at the large man who fell beside her. “Did you do this?”
“Yes, Commander.”
“Come with me.”
There was no compliment or whatsoever and only next order. Ye Jiao stayed quiet as she followed after the man. They reached the headquarter, and the man sat down. He tapped the table in front of him.
“Starting tomorrow, you’re going to fight in the frontline. I expect you to deal with the enemy’s commander.”
The enemy commander?
Based on the intruder that sneaked here, that person must also be Eon Energy Master Rank 3. She didn’t really have any trouble dealing with Eon Energy Master Rank 3, but this place named battlefield was completely different than when she fought in other places.
Ye Jiao nodded strongly. “I understand, Commander.”
“Good. Take some rest for now.”
“Yes.”
Ye Jiao watched the fight from the hill as the other soldiers left her. They didn’t seem to have any intention to bother her as they just watched from a distance, waiting for their own orders. Looking at the fight from this distance, Ye Jiao realized that the soldiers were all so small.
For the strategist, they might not be much different than the number.
‘I see, fighting from the back can be truly different.’
Time passed swiftly.
The next day, Ye Jiao was placed at the front once again. She looked at the soldiers around her and also the commander. Each of them seemed to be far bigger than her by at least twice. She felt like she was too short….
“Little girl, make sure you can catch up.”
“Aye.”
Gong!
The moment the gong rang, the soldiers began to run. Ye Jiao could feel the sudden pressure they emanated as she ran alongside them. The tense and stifling atmosphere told her so many things. Many of them were nervous and afraid, but they still stood up to stand and fight.
Clang! Clang! Slash! Clang! Slash!
Sound of battle enveloped the entire area. There was no time for them to take a break as every pause meant opportunity for their opponent.
Bam!
Feeling the sudden pressure, Ye Jiao noticed that the commander had arrived. A smile was formed on the corner of her lips.
“Little girl, what are you doing?”
Ye Jiao separated herself from her group and rushed to the commander. She could see the man tried to cut her down with his blade, but her dagger was ready.
Tsing! Slash!
Parrying it, Ye Jiao arrived by the man’s front. Her dagger moved to cut off the man’s stomach. It went through the barrier as blood splattered.
“Commandeeeeeeeeeer!”
“Noooooo!”
The scream that filled soon afterwards sounded vague. Ye Jiao didn’t remember much except the despair on her opponent’s expression. It was weird. She felt that she had truly become one with the reality of this illusion.
Slash!
“Keep going! Victory is within our grasps!” the commander ordered. He looked at Ye Jiao and smiled. “You did great. Can you continue?”
Her grip on the dagger tightened, and Ye Jiao smiled. “Of course.”
“Let’s go!”
She didn’t understand why they fought or anything, but she knew that she had to fight. Her dagger continued to dance around as her body was totally covered in flesh and blood of everyone who fell down.
And then, she heard it.
“Retreat! Retreat!”
“Nooooo commander!”
As she had been killing a few commanders, the soldier’s morale dropped to the bottom. When they heard the word retreat, nearly all of them dropped their weapon and ran to the back. They no longer had any fighting spirit to continue on.
“We woooooooon!”
“Hell yeah!”
Ye Jiao smiled slightly. Suddenly, she felt the space around her distorted and her surroundings changed.
