Path Of The Lilies - Chapter 379 Basic Illusive Class
Swish! Swish! Swish!
As soon as the battle began, Qin Zheng threw his hidden knives to Lu Wan’s direction. The stunned Lu Wan quickly took out his blade and chain.
Clang! Clang! Swish!
He blocked two and evaded the last one. Before Lu Wan could move his chain and blade to attack, he saw Qin Zheng had arrived in front of him with his sword ready.
Slash! Swish!
Lu Wan was stunned when he saw himself outside of the arena. Part of his clothes was torn, and he was bleeding, but he was still alive.
“What’s that?”
“That’s the defense mechanism,” Qin Zheng kept his sword again. “Once it determines the attack is going to kill you, it’ll activate and throw you out of the arena immediately. You lose, Lu Wan.”
Lin Cai’s eyes fixated on Qin Zheng’s token, which flashed for a split second. She knew that the young man’s point had increased. Thankfully, it wouldn’t take Lu Wan’s point because of the latter’s identity as a new student.
Internally, she sighed to herself. If only she was still a new student, how convenient would it be?
“Let’s go and get some rest,” Qin Zheng beckoned for them to follow him out. “Next time, I’ll fight against Ye Jiao instead.”
“What? Why?”
“He lost too quickly.”
Lin Cai turned her head towards Lu Wan and smiled menacingly. “I take that as you have to train much harder, yes?”
“Noooooo! Help meeeeeeeeee!”
Ye Jiao giggled as she watched Lin Cai dragged Lu Wan for training. Her eyes turned to the young man beside her. “I’ll go back first. Thank you for today.”
“En,” Qin Zheng replied. “Tomorrow, I need to talk to you a bit.”
“Yes?”
“Before morning practice.”
“Ah, ok.”
Ye Jiao returned back to her residence and continued her practice. The next day, she met with Qin Zheng early in the morning as he waited in front of her residence once again.
“You can just go ahead and wait in the court. There’s no need to wait in front of my residence,” Ye Jiao smiled bitterly. Thankfully, only a few people could come into this building, or they would surely find it weird that Qin Zheng stood here.
Qin Zheng kept the book he was reading and smiled. “It’s more convenient like this. Starting today, you’re going to follow after me for limit training.”
“Limit training?”
“You’ll need to use up your Eon Energy and follow after my lead. By exhausting your Eon Energy, you’ll have to rely on your physical ability to finish the course,” Qin Zheng pointed to the front.
Ye Jiao blinked. “Wouldn’t it mean that I take so much time?”
“Do you remember the movement technique that I taught you?”
“It’s more like you allow me to watch you do them.”
“What…?”
“The more you use a technique, the more you will master it,” the two of them have arrived by the mountain foot, and Qin Zheng walked to take the weights. “Let’s go, Ye Jiao.”
Ye Jiao truly wanted to cry, but she didn’t have a choice. Utilizing the technique, she travelled dozens of kilometers in a matter of seconds. Qin Zheng was already in front of her as he still could move faster with this technique. Once she ran out of Eon Energy, she had no choice but to run and run again.
Bang!
“How is it? You finished faster than before,” Qin Zheng smiled.
Ye Jiao stretched her legs as she glared at Qin Zheng accusingly. “It’s overly tiring. I can’t even count how many times I feel my body breakdown because I keep on pushing it.”
“That means you’re reaching the limit and overcoming it. This kind of training is very effective on the body to make sure that you practice your body to the fullest. Of course, training your Eon Energy control is also important, but I think you’ve already excelled in that area.”
“Not really,” Ye Jiao ate the pill and sat down to recover her Eon Energy. After several seconds, she stood up. “I still need a lot of practice.”
“You can continue practising them when you reach the late stage.”
“What….?”
“You’ll know soon.”
His answer only made Ye Jiao’s hand itch to hit and beat him up. Ye Jiao glared at Qin Zheng before she recalled something. “Are there any skill books that I can study?”
Qin Zheng looked at Ye Jiao for a moment. “For your dagger?”
“Yes.”
“I would suggest you to not bother with finding any skill books.”
“Why?”
“First, dagger’s skills are extremely rare, so it’ll be more beneficial for you to train on your own. Two, the best skills for Eon Energy Masters are not skills that we learn from other people, but the skills that we create on our own to suit our body. Third, there’s no skill book for a curved dagger in the entire Four Kingdoms aside from a basic movement skill book that you learn back in the examination.”
Ye Jiao was dumbfounded when she heard Qin Zheng’s answer. She thought that she would be able to learn some cool skill when she entered the academy, but reality proved differently. There was no such skill that she could learn.
“That…”
Qin Zheng patted Ye Jiao’s shoulder. “Don’t be so down. Once Eon Energy Master reaches rank 4, many of us no longer focus on our weapon’s skill but on specialization. There are still some of us who are trying hard to pursue a path with the weapon’s skill, but the number is not many.”
Hearing that, Ye Jiao knew that it was the truth. When they have their specialization, many Eon Energy Masters abandon their way of fighting that they had ever since they were young. After all, they had a brand new path that was completely different compared to before.
“I’m sure that you’ll be able to create your own skill from the basic movement.”
“En.” Ye Jiao slowly nodded. The skill book that Qin Zheng gave her back then was quite good. She learned a firmer stance. “Thank you very much, Senior Brother Qin.”
“Come on, you’ll be late for class.”
Seeing her senior brother have started walking, Ye Jiao sighed to herself. She truly didn’t understand why they picked him to help her in training. So far, he just made things difficult for her continuously.
Ye Jiao headed straight for her class, which was the Basic Illusive Class and used this chance to recover her Eon Energy faster. She was only late for two hours, which was quite an advancement compared with yesterday. Though the process couldn’t be said to be the same.
“You’re early today,” Qi Huan commented as he walked inside. “How did you manage to finish so early?”
“Don’t ask… I’ll feel like beating him up again,” Ye Jiao sighed and looked at Qi Huan. “Youre also faster, Senior Brother Qi.”
“Just a bit, but yes.”
Lu Wan came when the class nearly started. The teacher was still lenient because it started four hours later than what it was supposed to be, but they would gradually reduce the time per week. That means, next week the class will start three hours late.
“Good evening, everyone,” the teacher for this class was Elder Qian. He looked at the students. “I’m a temporary teacher for this class because your usual teacher is on leave. I’ll teach you the basics of illusive Master.”
At this time, Qi Huan paid much more attention than before because he had talent in this field. It would be necessary for him to learn much more for his future path.
“First of all, I’ll explain what it means to be an Illusive Master. Illusive Masters are people who use Eon Energy to disturb your senses, it means we’re an expert to lead your senses into the wrong conclusion. For example, you can see I’m standing here, whereas…”
Elder Qian waved his hand, and they could see him disappeared from that place and appeared on the other side of the classroom. “I’m actually standing here.”
“Wooow!”
“This is one of the common tricks as an Illusive Master. Those who had the basic talent will have it easier to find the truth about this, but those who didn’t have any talent might find it difficult. Illusive Master uses Eon Energy to affect your surroundings, creating a perfect cover for the real world behind.”
Elder Qian smiled. “Now, I’ll continue to create numerous illusive tricks at the front, and your task will be to identify which one is an illusion and which one is true. If you can’t differentiate them, you won’t be able to pass this class.”
The students groaned because they understood that it wouldn’t be easy. When Elder Qian moved like that, they didn’t even know it was actually the fake one.
“Let’s begin.”
