Path Of The Lilies - Chapter 381 Forging Master Smelting Process
“Yes. Haven’t I told you that I’m a Forging Master?”
Forging Master?
Ye Jiao did recall that Qin Zheng once said to her that he was a Forging Master. Well, from the way he acted whenever he saw a rare type of metal, she could guess that he must be very familiar with them. Though, she was not totally sure about his rank or anything related to it.
“You have, but I don’t really know much about Forging Master and any other related occupation,” Ye Jiao shrugged.
Qin Zheng sighed. “The teachers are going to explain this in two days. Tomorrow you’ll have some basic classes such as herb’s knowledge, material knowledge, history, and some others. Two days from now, you’ll learn about the occupation that Eon Energy Master could have. One of them is a Forging Master.”
“How about the ranking?”
“It’s using color to identify their rank. The lowest rank is red color,” Qin Zheng replied. “There’s a light color and dark color too, for example, light red and dark red. If you’re light color, it means that you’re still in early rank.”
“There’s also the differentiation like that?”
Lin Cai nodded as she released Lu Wan from her strangle. “These occupations are very strict in their ranking. It’s not going to be easy to gain their approval, so you need to show your capabilities in the test.”
“I see.”
“What’s your ranking, Senior Brother Qin?” Qi Huan asked.
“I’m dark orange rank,” Qin Zheng replied honestly.
“Isn’t that already pretty good?” Lu Wan blanked. If he counted, it meant that Qin Zheng had passed the light red, red, dark red, light orange, and orange. Doesn’t it just mean this young man was actually a capable Forging Master?
“I’ll tell you the details of this occupation while we walk to my workplace,” Qin Zheng looked over to Ye Jiao. “Do you want to come?”
“I want to!”
The five of them headed back to the Core Disciple’s area then they entered the specific buildings for Elite Disciple. Seven doors leads to seven different residences. Qin Zheng stopped right in front of a black door.
“This is the door to Black Tower, Qin Zheng’s residence,” Lin Cai explained as the young man opened the door.
The moment the door was opened, they could sense pressure coming out from inside. It was filled with a dark and solemn atmosphere. Around them, they could see the stone path in the middle of seemingly lush green scenery, yet it was dark.
“It’s so dark. I can barely see anything,” Lu Wan frowned.
“It’s suitable for the gloomy Qin Zheng,” Lin Cai grinned.
“If you want, I can bring you to stay in the basement again, Cai.”
“Wait, NO! Don’t!”
“Let’s get inside.”
Qin Zheng led them towards a large tower. It was located right in the middle of the place and also a good place to stay. Unlike the outside, the tower was comfy and warm inside. There was barely any furniture, so it was simple and clean.
They headed downstairs as Qin Zheng headed to a different room. This time, it was a room filled with metals and also a fireplace on the other side. There was an anvil placed in front of the fireplace and a bucket of water nearby.
“Is this your workplace? It’s a bit plain,” Lu Wan murmured.
Bletak!
“What do you expect this place to be?” Lin Cai rolled her eyes. “Qin Zheng is a good Forging Master, and you’ll understand why soon enough.”
Lu Wan rubbed his head as he looked at Lin Cai begrudgingly. He was clearly older than this young woman, yet she was the one who beat him up over and over. Really, he should find a way to defeat her soon enough or he wouldn’t be able to keep his dignity.
Qin Zheng ignored the two of them and took out a piece of metal. He looked at Ye Jiao. “Do you remember this?”
“That’s… Meteorite Lava Sto- eh, Metal!”
“Are you about to say stone again?”
“You must hear it wrongly.” Ye Jiao grinned sheepishly. She recalled this was the metal that she traded for the medicine before. Why did he take it out?
“I’m going to forge a sword and sell it since there’s no fire element in this place,” Qin Zheng looked at the metal with a smile. “But before I can do that, I need to remove the impurities in this metal.”
“Remove impurities! How?”
“You better stay back if you don’t wish to get burned,” Lin Cai dragged Lu Wan to the back once again.
Ye Jiao and Qi Huan followed suit. Her eyes were watching Qin Zheng as the young man placed the large metal in a box that has a funnel at the bottom. She looked at Qi Huan as if asking for an explanation. Aside from Qin Zheng, only Qi Huan seemed to have a vast amount of knowledge.
“He’s smelting the metal. This requires high temperature fire, which will melt the metal, and it’ll form several layers. Those at the top will be thrown because it’s not useful while the one at the bottom is the real Meteorite Lava Metal,” Qi Huan explained.
“How high is the needed temperature?”
“Probably around 1000 to 3000* degree.”
As soon as he finished saying that, they could feel the room temperature suddenly increased several times. Everyone quickly created an Eon Energy layer around their body to restrict the hot temperature from permeating into their skin.
Qin Zheng was the one closest to the fire as he used his Eon Energy to push the fireplace into creating hotter temperatures. Sweat slid down his forehead as he tried to maintain the consistency of the temperature in order to melt the metal. Even though there was an array to keep the temperature focused in the fireplace, it still leaked out, and the one who got the brunt the most was Qin Zheng.
Everyone stayed quiet throughout the process. They could see the blazing yellow red liquid coming out of the funnel into the bucket that Qin Zheng had prepared. It took some time before Qin Zheng stopped and pushed a different bucket. A slightly different metal poured out into the bucket.
“Wow, how does he differentiate them?” Lu Wan was astonished. He could only know when the metal was already out, but Qin Zheng could perfectly move the bucket to change place even before.
“That’s because he’s observing their movement,” Lin Cai wiped her sweat. “Red Rank Forging Master has just learned how to wield the hammer and use it. Orange Rank Forging Master learns how to control the fire for smelting higher level ores. Yellow Rank Forging Master learns how to differentiate each part of the ores during smelting and create higher purity ores during forging.”
Ye Jiao’s eyes widened. “Then it means Senior Brother Qin has reached yellow rank?”
“Yes, but he hadn’t undergone their test again, so he’s still dark orange rank,” Lin Cai sighed. “I don’t understand how he manages to rise so quickly given his fast advancement in Eon Energy Mastery.”
Lu Wan eyed Qi Huan and Ye Jiao. If he was not wrong, Qi Huan also busy trained his killing intent despite his harsh training as Eon Energy Master. On the other hand, Ye Jiao was also training her body and stealth aside from her Eon Energy. He also learned about herbs, but it has a drawback because his advance has been slower.
It seemed that he needed to gear up a bit.
“The first step is finished,” Qin Zheng wiped his sweat and smiled. “Next is forging, and I hope you can stay quiet.”
“Of course!”
Qin Zheng waited a bit for the metal to cool down. He picked it up and heated it once more for some time before using his hammer to strike down the metal. His body twisted in movements along with his hand. It was clear that he had a firm foundation from the way he moved his entire body to strike the metal and not just his arm.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
All of them stayed quiet. All that was left was only the rhythmically sound of the hammer striking down the metal.
