Path Of The Lilies - Chapter 383 Other Eon Energy Occupations
“No,” the teacher shook his head. “It’s important to know some self-defense, but if you don’t like combat, you can learn just enough to protect yourself and spend the rest of your time in the other occupations unrelated to combat.”
Ye Jiao pondered as she looked at the teacher in front of her. She raised her hand. “Teacher, even if we choose a different type that’s not normal, is it possible to take that position? For example, a fire element takes a support position?”
The teacher nodded his head. “It’s not impossible, but it won’t be easy because of the element attribute. With enough training and the correct method of utilization, it’ll be possible. Taking your example, it’s possible for you to become a long distance fire controller. This way, you can give support from far away even though it can also be still considered as an attacker.”
“I see, Thank you, Teacher.”
Ye Jiao moved her body to the back slightly. She wanted to focus on speed, but at the same time, she didn’t want to take control or wind element specialization. It was possible for them to learn other elements, but it wouldn’t be easy when their body already has one that they liked.
It would take double or even more the effort if she wanted to learn other elements other than light.
Qi Huan tapped his finger on the table before raising his hand. “Teacher, how about when water element becomes an attacker?”
The teacher was stunned. Water element was known to only have a small range of attack possibilities. However, it was not completely impossible.
“It’s possible, but if you’re that worried about your element, how about if you focus more on your weapon? I’m sure that all of you have your own weapon and preference in a fight. Even though you can’t get your favorite position because your element is unsuitable, you can still become one with your weapon.”
“Teacher, do you mean to become a Sword Martial Artist?”
“That’s one of the options. When you learn a weapon to a certain degree, you’ll come to understand the deeper path in that weapon. Of course, it’s also possible for you to not use any weapon and just rely on your body,” The teacher coughed. “For these weapons and so on, you’ll start learning them next year depending on the weapon of your choosing. Any other questions?”
The teacher swept his gaze across the classroom. He nodded when there were no more students raising their hand.
“Next, I’ll be teaching about other occupations you can take as Eon Energy Masters. There are four common paths, and I’ll just talk in general for today.
As the teacher stopped for a moment to let the students grasped his words, Lu Wan’s eyes were shining.
‘I’ll become a Poison Master for sure!’
“Second there’s Rune Masters. Rune Masters are people who specialize in studying patterns and also the movements of Eon Energy in a specific way. They can create runes or arrays depending on their specialization. There are two types: Array Masters and Enhancement Masters. Array Masters usually create arrays or formations that have special effect depending on their pattern. As for Enhancement Masters, they usually insert runes in objects to give a special effect or simply use the runes itself in fight.
Rune Masters can either take specialization or study both of them. If one takes specialization, they’ll be called an Array Master or Enhancement Master. If they didn’t and learn both, they’d be called Rune Masters.”
“It sounds interesting,” Ye Jiao murmured.
Qi Huan nodded. “You’re pretty sensitive to Eon Energy movement, so it might be a suitable path for you.”
“En.”
“The third one is the Beast Masters. It’s a fairly rare occupation in the Xian Gu Kingdom because there’s no specific way to tame a beast here. I’ll go into detail later.
The fourth one is Forging Master. Forging Masters are people who usually deal with minerals, especially metals. There are two types of Forging Master. They can either be Refiner or Weapon Maker or even both. Refiners are usually people who focus on creating small tools and objects. This usually requires a delicate touch because it was not easy for one to move those small things. Weapon Makers are mostly those who create a sword or other weapon. They’re fairly common here because at least half of your seniors become Forging Masters.”
“Huh? It’s common?” Lu Wan yelled out in surprise.
The teacher frowned and looked in Lu Wan’s direction. “If you wish to ask a question, you should raise your hand and yes, it’s pretty common here. Because the mountains are the source of minerals, a lot of students who have an interest in Forging Master picked this academy.”
Now that Ye Jiao thought about it, most mining caves were located in the mountains. She should have thought about this before when she asked Qin Zheng about his occupation. It seemed that she was quite dumb too.
“Each of these professions has its own ranking and association. The ranking starts from red color, which is the lowest up until the purple color (rainbow color). The specific details for the ranking in each occupation are different, and I’ll go through that later.
Now, do you have any questions?”
As the students began to ask, Ye Jiao leaned back against her chair. There was so much new information she got from the past few days in the academy that she felt her head might explode. If not because she had better memorization ability, she knew that she wouldn’t be able to survive.
“After the basic class, there are specific occupation classes,” Qi Huan turned his head to the other two. “Are you going to take it?”
“Of course!” Lu Wan said in certainty. He always learned by himself in the past, so he wished to get some systematic teaching too. After all, there were so many herbs and their composition that he wanted to know.
Ye Jiao nodded her head. “I’ll try to take it. How about you, Senior Brother Qi?”
“I’m more interested in the weapon classes that Teacher mentioned,” Qi Huan admitted. He didn’t really have much interest in his element and illusive. They would certainly be useful, but he was more inclined to train his body and killing intent.
“You can only take it next year.”
“I’ll finish the theory class earlier,” Qi Huan said with certainty. “Besides, I’m not really in a hurry to break through again.”
Even if new students managed to make a breakthrough, they still needed to finish the four months hellish training. For him, this would be the best time to strengthen his foundation before he aimed for rank 4. Aside from that, information was certainly important.
“You can say that, but can’t you do something to help me?” Lu Wan’s face was sour.
Qi Huan shook his head. “I don’t think I have that great of an influence in Senior Sister Lin. She’s pretty fierce.”
Lu Wan: “…” you coward!
Ye Jiao giggled. “At the very least, she introduces you to a good teacher. You will be able to become a poison master under him, right?”
“Hopefully,” Lu Wan shrugged. “I haven’t received a proper education now.”
“I see.”
The class was over after the students finished asking numerous questions. Ye Jiao stood up from her seat.
“It’s time to go.”
“Are you sparring again today?”
“No, I’m going to visit Xin Jie. It has been a week, so I’m curious about her progress,” Ye Jiao replied.
“Oh, right. She’s in the Inner Disciple section, right?”
“Yes.”
“See you later, Ye Jiao!”
