Path Of The Lilies - Chapter 392 Learning Array Formation
Afterwards, she would practice minute control with Peaceful Mind Meditation in the hall. She spent two weeks there before she stopped coming because there were already a lot of other disciples who didn’t come because they had reached a peaceful state. They all trained in their own room and headed to the canteen after they had finished because they would be very hungry.
It took Ye Jiao a month to finish the training in time, but afterwards, Qin Zheng instructed her to start using weight. The cycle continued as she had to increase her weight every single time she finished in time with the previous weight. Some other new disciples also suffer the same way as her while the others were still struggling to finish the course even without weight.
Lu Wan dropped on his table. “I can finally finish in time for lunch.”
Qi Huan sneaked a look from his book. “It’s already nearing the end of the year. Are you prepared for the examination?”
“Don’t remind me of that,” Lu Wan groaned.
The examination was actually simple. They just needed to gain points through the four months and have to pass at least 3 classes and finish the training in time. Afterwards, they would have to challenge one senior to fight in the arena.
Ye Jiao giggled. “How many classes have you passed, Lu Wan?”
“Just three,” Lu Wan raised his finger. “Basic herbs identification, basic control class, and basic element class.”
Qi Huan arched his eyebrows. “You’re taking your time in doing the examination.”
“I still can’t see through the illusives. The basics for enhancement are a bit too much, so I hadn’t had the time to review them.”
Ye Jiao smiled wryly. Even when she had to memorize those 1000 runes, she still had the time to study and memorize other classes. There were 10 basic classes, and she had passed them all. Right now, they were all in the intermediate control class. This was one of the classes with many students picking it because it was important to have great control of their Eon Energy.
As for Qi Huan, there was no need to say that this man passed more than 10 classes. He had memorized so many things that almost every class that only contained theory were done.
“You have just taken the basic element class exam, right? Are you going to pick fire as your element?” Lu Wan propped his head.
Ye Jiao nodded. “I can only pick that class once I reach rank 4, so for the time being I’m taking an intermediate element class to learn the theory about the basic element and the intermediate elements.”
“You two are too fast.”
“Well, if you don’t spend your time fighting in the arena all day, you can actually finish the class,” Qi Huan reminded.
Lu Wan spent most of his free time studying herbs or getting dragged around by Lin Cai to fight in the arena. It allowed him to gain more battle experience, but at the same time, this caused him to not have time to study other things.
Not that he would learn even if he has the time, though.
“You know that you have to finish them all before autumn next year, right?” Ye Jiao reminded him as well.
“I’m not like you two who hog the first and second ranking in the new disciple ranking.”
Because Qi Huan had finished 20 classes including the basics, he earned 300 points for each class finished. In the end, he got a total of 6000 points because Qi Huan didn’t bother with the arena at all. Ye Jiao finished 10 basic classes and fought with some seniors occasionally, so she had 3944 points. The third position only has 2440 points, so it was clear that the gap was truly big.
“You’re lazy.”
Lu Wan had 1957 points and was placed in the 8th position. There were only fifteen new students among the Core Disciple, so it was safe to say that he was located in the middle.
“Well, as long as I’m still higher than those from the Inner Disciple section, I’ll be fine…”
The one who gained points lesser than the new Inner Disciple would be demoted to become Inner Disciple instead of Core Disciple. Because of that, the new disciples were busy challenging the seniors to fight against them lately. Time was running out, and if they didn’t gain back the needed points, their position was threatened.
Ye Jiao giggled. The first position in the Inner Disciple section was Mu Xin. She still managed to finish half of her classes despite the constant fight she had because a lot of people challenged her. By now, she had 1909 points since the points earned by Inner Disciple were half of what those at Core Disciple could earn from the classes and fights.
For example, Core Disciple earned 300 points from completing a class, but Inner Disciple only earned 150 points.
“Are you going to fight later?” Lu Wan leaned back against his chair.
“No. I’m going to visit Master Qian,” Ye Jiao replied. “I already finished his assignment, so I wish to learn more.”
“You finished everything in just a matter of months?”
“You can say that.”
“Ugh, how did you manage your time in the first place?”
Ye Jiao just laughed without answering. On the other hand, Qi Huan focused on his book until the class started. The teacher has begun to give them a harder task to do, so it wouldn’t be easy for them to finish this class. However, it was also unnecessary for them to attend the class every week because the teacher would only let them get the next assignment when they have finished the previous one.
As soon as the class finished, Ye Jiao headed to Elder Qian’s office. It was located not far from the tower where the principal and vice principal stayed. There were several other disciples there, but no one dared to get deeper if they didn’t have any business with the elders.
Knock! Knock!
“Come in.”
Ye Jiao pushed the door open. She was surprised to see Elder Qian standing in the middle of the room with a short staff in his hand.
“Good evening, Master.”
“Good evening. Have you finished memorizing the few runes that you keep mistaking with each other?”
“Yes,” Ye Jiao smiled sheepishly. There were only a few runes left that she forgot last time, so this time, she was confident that she could answer them all correctly.
Elder Qian nodded in satisfaction. “Have you ever thought about whether you want to become an Enhancement Master or Array Master?”
“I want both,” Ye Jiao admitted. It might be a bit greedy on her side, but she wished to be able to learn both of them.
“Then this is your next task,” Elder Qian handed her a thick book. “This book contained all the basics of the array, formation and the importance of geography. You might need to take the geography class up until the advanced ones to familiarize yourself with them.”
“Ok, Master.”
“Also, I want you to pick one of the basic runes and start learning to draw it with your Eon Energy in the air.”
Ye Jiao blinked. “In the air, Master?”
“Yes. I’ll give you an example.”
Elder Qian utilized his Eon Energy and poured them out from his finger. He started to move it and let the Eon Energy stay in the route they passed until he had finished forming the runes. The one he drew was the water defense runes. Once he had finished, there was a slight movement of Eon Energy and a form of water layer in front of Elder Qian.
Barely a few seconds passed before it was formed. It looked as if there was no effort needed for Elder Qian to create the runes.
“Wow!” Ye Jiao was astonished.
“The real runes need the specific element to be formed perfectly,” Elder Qian waved his hand and the runes dissipated. “Since my specialization is a wind element, the water element in my body is not much, so the shield is just a thin layer. I will need to add some concoction to be able to create the runes.”
“I see,” Ye Jiao has a light element, but she herself hadn’t started to collect and form the element, so it wouldn’t be easy.
“Fair warning from me, you might not have enough Eon Energy to form the runes, so practice a lot.”
“Eh?”
