- Chapter 203: Tunnel Of Death (part 2)
*KATCHING!* *CHING!* *KLING!*
Gray slashed at and through the countless abornmals which stood on their path.
All those who were on the walls rushing from the side to keep up with them, and even those which were on the ceiling, creeping around waiting for the perfect opportunity to strike whilst blinded by their hunger.
The zombies were being blitzed through.
Veins had popped off of Gray’s arms and forearms, his biceps bulged out as if a large ball had been placed within it.
Even without [Pause] or [Time stop] he was at the top of his game.
After all…
“Gray! Below you!” Aurora yelled out as he completed his jump.
Gray glanced down, instantly rotating his body mid-air with a smile on his face before saying. “I know.”
Upon completing the backward rotation, the zombie which had leapt at him had it’s head in half from the top down.
Blood spurted out of the Zombie’s head before it was pushed back down with Gray’s leap from it.
Gray who was panting non stop, glanced around in every direction possible with his eyes trying to formulate a plan to get some rest.
In the far distance, his eyes spotted something.
Behind another web of zombies, he could see a spectre of hope for them. They were approaching the nearest platform to one of the stations.
‘If it’s there, we might be able to find a place to rest…!’
He looked down at the swarm of Zombies beneath him before looking back up ahead.
“The problem is.. How are going to get there?” He asked himself
He looked to the right and left, there were three zombies pursuing them from both sides of the walls.
Only one more was up top.
Gray grew increasingly more annoyed as he watched this, the more he killed the more would come back. They didn’t know when to give up.
Because of this, he had no choice but to finish them all at once.
“Aurora.”
“Yeah!?”
“We’re going to have to bait those zombies to leap at us, do you have any energy?”
She nodded.
“Just a bit!” She reassured him.
“That’s good enough.” He replied as he began to decrease his speed to get as close as possible to them.
He explained the plan to her, telling her to aim and shoot at the zombies to get them to head down or jump off.
After that, he’d pause step them away once more through the cobweb of zombies before them, allowing them to get to the nearest station. Upon reaching the station they should be able to get out.
Aurora nodded having complete faith in Gray’s idea. Gray couldn’t help but smile upon noticing this.
“After this all done… Let’s eat some of the tastiest meals we can find.” Said Gray.
After saying such, Aurora tapped his back and gave him a narrow eyed stare.
“What is it?” He asked, slashing at one of the Zombies on the wall which had leapt at them.
“If you say things like that… You almost make it sound like one of us might die… Haven’t you seen any movies before?” Aurora asked, launching a small projectile of ice to the side at one of the zombies which had leapt from the wall to their left.
Gray chuckled nervously. “Did it really come out that way?” He asked
Aurora gave him a slight nod with a worried look.
With the way things were, she truly couldn’t see them escaping out of this place. Seeing him fighting was cool and all, but it put her on edge above everything else.
He was clearly running low on energy and all it took was one slip-up or mistake for him to die.
Truthfully she was scared, she couldn’t bare to watch.
But she had to. Especially since Violet’s life and fate were riding on her.
‘The weak person I once was… No longer exists.’ She thought to herself with a determiend look.
Gray who had been glancing back, smiled once more.
‘That’s a good look she has…’
“Execute the plan, now!”
THe two simultaneously leapt forward with as much power as they had, Aurora who was carrying Violet naturally had a weaker leap which was more like a hop, but the intention wasn’t for them to head far anyways.
The Zombie’s heads all moved from the three to solely Gray who had suddenly split up from them.
“Over here, Zombies!” He yelled out.
The intention was to put all attention on Gray as a result of such.
Just as they had planned.
The Zombies groaned and all simultaneously kicked off the wall, propelling themselves at him with wide opened jaws.
These Zombies with glowing red fiery veins drawing closer to him made him thinking of a terrifying movie scene.
It was genuinely horrifying, especially from his perspective.
*Crackle*
As they made the leap however with their attention turned to him, they failed to notice the most obvious variable right before their eyes.
By their times they realised it, it was already too late.
A bright glow approached their heads from the sides, piercing right through and freezing each and every one of them in one clean motion.
[Ice Shards Split]
Aurora had created three shards of ice and split them into three, launching seven of them each at the respective Zombies.
There were seven Zombies, all of them were impaled at the same time.
Gray couldn’t believe the accuracy of her shots, he was planning on [Pause Stepping] Or [Fast-Forwarding] in the last second before finishing off the remaining ones, but thanks to her accuracy he ended up saving up on some energy.
“Good, now for the second part.”
He leapt back, joining the two once more as they were now just a hundred meters away from the Zombie cobweb.
Together, they continued to run, drawing closer and closer to it at high speeds.
Right before collision, Gray moved his hand around Aurora’s back, making sure it was making contact with bother hand and Violet.
[Pause-Step – Fast Forward Chain]
Their figures completely vanished from the sight, confusing all of the hungry and active zombies which were desperate for food.

*Pant* *Pant* *Pant*
The two slowly caught their breaths, hiding at the very bottom of one of the stairs on the platform. Fortunately, this particular location was clear of Zombies.
But as for the rest…
“Fuck… We can’t move for a while…” Gray whispered as he glanced around whilst staying in the shadows.
They wer esurrounded by Zombies roaming around the area, many were charging to the cobweb they had gone past as a result of all the noise, but there were so many that it only managed to buy them just a small portion of extra space.
In reality it barely made a difference.
“…Won’t they smell us from here…?” Aurora asked nervously whilst checking on Violet.
She was doing her best to make sure she wasn’t injured.
“They probably will, but what can we do? Just try to catch your breath… All we need is to go up the staircase and head outside.”
“So far things are going-”
*SKATCH!* *SKREEEEEK*
Gray was interrupted as the sound of screaching echoed across the whole.
*BAM!* *BAM!* *BAM!*
Tremors followed by the sound of banging came after.
Gray gestured at Aurora to be quiet as he peeked through under the staircase, in order to see what it was.
*BAM!!!* *BAM!!!!!*
Something was coming, and at high speeds.
With Violet back on her back, Aurora peeked over the corner with Gray.
The two’s eyes widened as they witnessed countless corpses of Zombies being flung around, something was coming from down the tracks.
Whatever it was, it was big.
[X-Ray: Level 1]
Gray’s pupils dilated.
Cold sweat poured down his face as he looked over at Aurora.
“W-What?” Aurora asked. “Did you see something?”
Gray slowly nodded.
“Aurora… We need to get out of here…”
*BAM!!!* *BAM!!!!* *BAMM!!!!!!*
“NOW!!” Gray yelled out grabbing on to them.
[Pause-Step – Fast Forward Chain]
Their figures vanished appearing on the very top of the stare case, before disappearing and appearing again, on the floor above.
They were in the station. Before them were countless open gates, which in normal situations would be closed and asking for a card to pass through and enter.
But this was the apocalypse, there was no more paying for travel or any travel in the first place.
The two hastily got into a run after [Pause-step chaining.] Aurora could tell by how desperate he looked that whatever was down there was dangerous.
And so they run.
But even so, after just two steps. They were forced to stop as the ground beneath them suddenly cracked.
Gray had his sight on what was behind them. It was faint and for less than a second but he got to see it.
Down the staircases they had come from, a giant mutated figure slammed into the station’s platform.
A giant muscular body with countless different heads and pieces embedded in it.
Gray felt nauseous just from looking at it.
‘What kind of mutation… Is that!?’
