Perfect For Me - Chapter 1 Get Together
Screams of excitement echoed through the halls directly towards me. Turning around my best friend ran up to me in heels and a dress. The look of excitement was apparent for her. Jumping at me she hugged my neck while saying congratulations. With that, I laughed into her arms and hugged my best friend like as if it was the best day of my life and it is with that my friend separated herself from our hug. With a look of wonder, she started to ask many questions, “When did he propose Ann? How did he propose? Was it a fancy dinner then he popped the question or did he put the ring in the cake? What was your reaction? You have to show me the ring. When are you guy’s getting married? Have you decided on a theme? Oh god, it’s been so long I’m so happy for you.” Hugging me again I grabbed her arms and led her to our seats in Pitchoun. Sitting down I grabbed a slice of bread and put some butter on it and started to eat. With a quick lift of my left hand, I slid my hand over to my friend to show her my ring. Its design is simple but elegant looking at my engagement ring she made a little squeak and grabbed my hand to get a closer look at my hand. With that, she was looked at me and spoke, “The ring is so beautiful on you. I’m so glad he chose a pave setting ring rather than a diamond solitaire.” With that, I laughed at my friends’ remark on a diamond solitaire and remarked, “Wasn’t that your engagement ring design? Really I know you think it is simple, but your husband did give you one with the biggest diamond’s.” With an angry puff, my friend said, “I don’t like simple even if it is big but…” Looking at her wedding band with a loving look “I don’t absolutely hate that he chose that ring.”
Looking at my friend who is happily married I decided to surprise her by saying, “Guess who is going to be the maid of honor?” Looking at me she said, “Is it, Ericka? If I remember correctly you were thinking of having her as a maid of honor rather than me.” With a chuckle, I said, “No not her you’re going to be the maid of honor Eva. Ericka moved to Florence anyway, I wasn’t thinking of having her as the maid of honor. I wanted her to be one of my brides’ maids.” Looking at me with a dumbstruck look she yelled out with excitement as it sunk in, “REALLY!?” With a nod of my head, I said, “Truly.” With a shriek, she jumped over the table and hugged me again. With that, she plopped back down on to her seat to excited to eat she stood back up and got herself a mocha frappe. With a quick sip of her drink, Eva sat back down and indicated with her hand for me to continue. With that, I answered most of what was asked, “Nick proposed to me on valentines day, he got a custom-made box of chocolates and had them leave a space in the center of the box big enough for the ring. I was so surprised that once I opened the box he grabbed the ring knelt on one knee while asked me to marry him.” With a squeak, Eva tried to contain her excitement squeezing out her excitement by saying, “That’s so romantic I’m so happy for you Ann.” Giggling I continued, ” When he proposed he said I am his forever and so we both decided to have the theme of the wedding as forever.” Eva being so happy for me wound up crying from her love of romance. Getting very excited for me Eva wound up shouting out and disturbing all the customers by yelling, “MY BEST FRIEND IS GETTING MARRIED!!!” Hiding my face in embarrassment other fellow customers said congratulations and went back to their business.
A jingle came from the entrance of the Cafe I saw Nick enter with a confident smile as he walked over and sat down at our table said, “Hey sweety ready to go?” Checking the time I realized that I only had a few more minutes until I had to go. I have to go meet with the people who own the place we are getting married at and reserve the time for our wedding. With that, I rushed out of the place pulling Nick out of the seat while shouted, “Gatta go well to meet you, Eva.” With that, I shoved him into the passenger seat of the car snatching the keys from his belt. With a roar of the jaguar, I pulled out of our parking spot.
Looking forward and grasping at anything that will support himself he yelled, “Sweetie I think you’re fast enough.” Looking down at the speedometer I yelled back, “We are only going 80 it’s not that fast.” With that, we slid past most of the drivers and finally arrived at our destination. Pulling in to an empty parking stall I looked at the place where we hopefully will get married at. The destination had a grand church with white walls and redwood steps. Walking forward we were about to enter the church an elderly couple exited the building with that the woman looked at me and said, “You must be Annabell come in come in we will discuss all matters inside.” With a quick remark, I said, “You must be Mr. and Mrs. Crem you can call me Ann and thank you for meeting with us today.” With a cackle, Mr. Crem said, “Oh, It is our pleasure to know that you want to get married here so there are no issues.” With that, we all entered the Church. The church had row upon row of seats and in the very back of the building where the ceremonies take place was a statue of the Virgin Mary and a cross directly behind her. The place was peaceful making one feel relaxed rather than tense. Exciting the hall we entered a small room that had a table with roller chairs and a fridge in the corner of the room was a microwave. With a shift of their feet, Mr. and Mrs. Crem indicated for us to have a seat.
