Perfect For Me - Chapter 7 Differen
Looking at my engagement ring I knew things were going to change. I was going to change. Walking out of the room I sat down on the couch and didn’t know what to do. Staring at the ring I twisted it around my finger reveling in the feeling of it on me. Standing I started to stretch and work off that donut that I ate on the way home. Once stretched out I turned on my Bluetooth speakers and my phone and put on some music. The first song that came up was “Salute” by little mix once the music started I stepped behind the couch and did a handstand. Bringing back one of my legs I touched the back of my head mid handstand. Kicking my foot back up I slid myself down into the splits staying there for a few seconds. That’s when I snapped my feet together And leaned on one of my arms and flipped my self over and started to do pushups. Bringing my knees to my chest I lept off the ground. Touching the ground I Lifted up my left leg until It reached the highest could go. Standing up straight I grabbed my leg Which was still in the air and leaned back. Finally replaced I released my leg and let it land on the ground. Grasping my side I grabbed a jump rope and stepped outside after I grabbed one of my speakers and my phone and changed the song. This time I changed the song to “Mad World” by Riverdale cast. On the flat cement, I started to jump rope on one leg like an expert. After jumping on one leg I started to switch legs and still bounced during it. After the song ended I stopped jumping on the jump rope and went back inside.
Inside I felt like as if I was empowered. Calm and relaxed I felt there was something missing, but I ignored the feeling and went into the kitchen. Reaching into the fridge I made myself a turkey sandwich and started to eat. Looking at the time I thought for a while and slowly I realized what I have forgotten. Looking at the date I whispered to myself, “It’s my birthday.” Looking around I started to gather materials for a brownie. I mixed and mixed while the oven was preheating. I was laughing at the fact that some of the batters splattered on my face. I couldn’t believe that I forgot it was my birthday. Shaking my head I smiled at my stupidity. Finishing the brownies that I made from scratch I slid the pan into the oven and set the timer. Turning back on my speakers I played the song “Stronger” by Kelley Clarkson. Feeling the need to sing I started to clean the mess and sang along with the song. Soon I was singing “Misfits”, “Naughty Naughty”, “Hello”, “Nowhere land”, and “Larger than life”. After all that while, I started to dance to those songs while singing. Soon after a while, the buzzer for the brownies went off and I almost fell over myself hearing it.
Knowing that I should check the brownies I grabbed a toothpick and opened the oven. Reaching the center I stabbed the center of the brownie with the toothpick. Pulling out the toothpick I checked if there was any sticky residue left. Satisfied with what I saw I turned off the oven and took out the brownies. Happy with my creation I took a picture of the brownies and posted it on my Instagram. With that, I put up my phone and frowned while looking at the time. Shaking my head I started to find something to cover the brownies with. It took a while until I was finally able to gather enough foil to cover the top of the brownies. Setting my hands on my hips I made and accomplished face and stepped out of the kitchen. Sitting down on the couch I turned on the TV and started to watch my guilty pleasure of watching chick flicks. Watching the shows I would laugh at the stupidest things and Tapping my fingers I felt bored and lonely which is never a good combination. Standing up I headed to my office. Standing in that small room the area was shrouded in pastel blue. Feeling soothed I stepped towards the computer and booted it up. With the screen turning on I sat down onto my comfortable rolling chair. Staring at the big screen of my computer I started to type. As the words rolled off my fingers the words appeared on the screen telling a story I was not saying. Soon minutes passed turning into hours. I barely noticed the time in which things were changing until I heard a vehicle pull-up. Standing up I looked at the time and realized just how much time has passed. Running to the door after I turned off the computer saving my progress I ran at Nick who was stepping out of the drivers’ side of his car. I didn’t care I jumped at him and wrapped my arms around him. Lifting me up Nick turned us into a full circle while snickering at my joy of seeing him. Setting me down I looked at him expectantly. Not knowing what I wished for he had a look of helplessness. Knowing that look I knew that he forgot that it was my birthday. Frowning I lifted up my phone and shown him the date. Seeing the date he looked like he was about to smash his head into a wall. Now, that’s the look that means he remembers now. Putting on his poker face he said, “Happy birthday sweetie.” Upset at him I frowned and said, “I figured as much so I made us bronies.” Looking at me with a look of concern he said, “I know that it is your birthday, but why are you making my favorite dessert and not your own?” Shrugging I said, “I already ate a donut I figured that celebrating with brownies is a good idea.” Shaking his head her buried his face in the corner of my neck and mumbled, “God, I don’t understand your logic.” Snickering I whispered, “You wouldn’t have it any other way.” Feeling him smile into my neck he said, “That is true.” Lifting up his face he kissed my forehead and said, “At least I still got you a birthday present.” Smiling I asked, “Oh, and what is that?” Kissing my cheek right below my eye he said, “You’ll see.” Laughing we both headed inside. Once inside he lifted me up over his shoulder like a sack of potatoes and said, “Off to the kitchen.” Laughing I tried to look at the door entrance and had no care in the world. In the kitchen, he saw the brownies and instantly knew that I worked hard on making it. Tossing me off his shoulder he held me in a princess carry and set me down on the ground.
