Phone App: Portable Armory - 218 Ambrosia Cartel
The command center. It was filled with many intelligence team personnel. Most of the time, the people that went there were superior officers with their highest non-commissioned officers. Those people came there to pick up mission details. The people that came there were usually ranked Captain or higher.
Patrick and Lynn walked through the think glass door of the command center. The receptionist there was busy arranging multiple phone calls to multiple departments inside of that base. It hadn’t been several hours and the base had been very busy. It was just the magic of working with a military unit, they were so fast.
Lynn and Patrick walked to the office of the base commander. They made an appointment first with his secretary whose office was in front of the commander’s office. “Excuse me, is the commander busy?” Patrick asked.
“No, please, sir,” the secretary said. She stood up from her desk and walked to the door of that commanding officer’s office. She knocked on the door multiple times. “Sir, you have a guest.”
“Lieutenant, who’s the guests?” a voice from the other side of the door asked.
“It’s commander McGrath and Commander Grant sir,” the secretary said.
“Please, open the door,” the commander said.
The secretary opened the door for both of them. The commander was on his deck while writing something on his computer. It was most likely to be the mission report that he had to give to the main base or the main command center. It was his duty as a commander to write the report to the command center in the middle of the ocean. Every single base must give one report each week. It was the bare minimum, the more the better.
“Nice to meet you, general,” Patrick said.
“The pleasure is mine, commander,” he said.
“So… I will just assume that you have known why I am here. Do you have the after-action report, general?” Patrick asked that old man. Patrick didn’t have any idea whether that person had written the reports or not. However, it was not like he had no time to wait for him either. Patrick was one of the most laid-back people inside of that base. Usually, the other commanders would hesitate to rush the commanding officer of a base to write a quick report so the commander knew the situation of that base. However, the result was barely readable and the intel worth was very low. After one incident, every commander made a pact not to ever rush any officer to make a report unless it was necessary.
“Sir, I’m almost finished with it. It was quite a shame that those tribals have to die, wasn’t it?” the commander asked.
“It was quite a shame, general. However, we do what we have to do to survive. If those tribals overran this base, the result would be catastrophic,” the general said.
“Sure, no problem.” The general stood up and saluted at them. Patrick and Lynn saluted back and both of them walked out of that commander’s room. Lynn gritted her teeth as she wanted to know who the heck shot them during the defensive operation.
Those tribals must be investigated or they would attack again, but with more advanced weaponry that might inflict casualty on them. They were lucky that no one used any RPG or there would be a fatality on that defensive operation. Those tribals’ weaponry were mostly originated from the west so Russians weren’t the perpetrator this time.
“Lynn, do you have any idea? I don’t. Ambrosia must have a very large connection if they could contact the head of those tribes to fight an unwinning battle,” Patrick said as he opened the door of the command center. The soft night breeze entered their nose as the door of the command center was opened. It was very cold, even colder than the air conditioner.
“Hmm, at least this is not arctic,” Patrick said.
“It isn’t, but this is still cold as heck. I might want a chocolate drink later. Hmm, even the burning forest isn’t enough to warm us up. I wonder what kind of cold weather phenomenon this is.” Lynn rubbed her hands against each other. However, the combination of dirt and sweat in their clothing made them uncomfortable as well. There was also some blood from the minor injury that Patrick had.
“Damn, your face, are you ok?” Lynn asked as blood was flowing from a scratch on Patrick’s face.
“Haha, don’t worry. It’s only a minor scratch. If it wasn’t a minor scratch. I won’t be talking here will I?” Patrick said as he wiped the blood with his own clothing. Patrick was sure that the bullets that were fired during the firefight between him and the tribals didn’t hit him at any spot. However, it looked like that the scratch was the mark. It didn’t require any stitches though so he would be very fine.
“Patrick, I’m not that worried about you. However, if you die, we will have a hard time looking for a replacement.” Lynn smiled smugly.
“Such a rude statement from someone who could be said as my future wife. So I’m replaceable, who will be the replacement then? Will it be Clara? Or will it be another person?” Patrick asked.
“Patrick… the relationship between me and Lizeth was unprecedented. C’mon, both of you are using the same toothpaste so I immediately felt nostalgic when meeting her, you have to understand that one,” Lynn said.
“Yeah, even my first intercourse wasn’t as a boy. It was quite an experience, I’m not going to lie, but I am doubting that there will be a chance to do it again. I’m also wondering what you will look like as a man, it will be quite an experience I bet,” Patrick said.
“Quit it. I don’t want to deal with weird things. One of those weird things is any serum that is produced by Aline. Ok, enough chit chat, should we go to the cafeteria or should we go to our living quarters. We haven’t seen our room, after all,” Lynn said.
“Our room? My room and your room are separated. We don’t have a room that is owned by both of us,” Patrick said.
Lynn sighed. Patrick smiled. Both of them entered the car again and Lynn drove the car to the living quarter. Lynn parked the car in front of the living quarter and Patrick got out of the passenger seat. Patrick didn’t remember much from his first time seeing the living quarter since he arrived there when he was very sleepy.
“Where’s our room?” Patrick opened the door of the living quarter and Lynn followed him from behind.
“No idea, I don’t have any idea about that. However, we can search for it using our PDA.” Lynn grabbed her PDA from her pocket and it showed her that her room was numbered 2. Her room was room number 2.
Lynn walked away from Patrick. “See you tomorrow.” She waved her hand and Patrick waved his hand back. Patrick opened his PDA and it showed that his room was room number six. Room number six was located on the edge of the hallway. Patrick walked past Lynn’s room and he arrived in front of his room. Patrick opened the door with his PDA.
“Hmm, such a nice room.” Patrick entered the room and closed the door.
Patrick took off his combat shirt and his combat pants. Patrick took all of them off and grabbed a towel so he could get to the shower to clean himself up. Patrick walked to the bathroom with a towel covering the bottom parts. He took a shower afterward.
Patrick went to his wardrobe after he took a shower and grabbed some clean clothes. He grabbed a new shirt and new combat pants. He relaxed by sitting on his bed to watch TV. The channel was tuned into the international channel so he could see every single broadcast around the world.
The broadcast that he watched at the moment was broadcast from his own country. The broadcast was a news broadcast about the latest condition in his country. He was curious about what happened after he and his friends left the country and made the well-established private military contractor called HSDC.
The news described the current situation in the capital right now. People were burning tires and shooting rifles here and there. Those people were a part of the anti-government militia. Their goal was to overthrow the government. They were supported by Russian Federation to overthrow the government. The government had turned into an anarchist dictatorship since Patrick and the others left.
The dictator wasn’t supported by anyone except for himself. Judging by how far the rebels have gone. It wouldn’t take long until the capital fell under the rebel’s hands. The coup would soon be over and the country would fell under complete anarchy soon. At that point, the Russians would pull out and maintain a defensive position in strategic locations. It would take a while until HSDC moved there. Right now, Patrick and the others wanted to focus on expanding the HSDC and eliminating the Ambrosia cartel first.
