Phone App: Portable Armory - 219 Ambrosia Cartel
A shell company. That was what it was called. It was one of the fronts that the Ambrosia cartel used as a way to sell their weaponry to the tribals. Right now, Patrick, Lynn and the others were investigating that shell company. That shell company name was Helix. Not to be confused with the company that produced oil.
However, this company seemed to be a little bit of the record, even for the covert mind like Patrick and Lynn. That company wasn’t listed on the Panamanian government list. In short, that company was illegal and its existence was questionable.
Even from the large compiled data that the intel team gathered, there were simply not enough traces for finding the remains of those cartels. Patrick and Lynn wouldn’t be able to blame the cartel now since their involvement was questionable even though Patrick and Lynn’s guts and feeling told them otherwise.
Right now, in the Blackhawk, those two were heading to the capital of Panama. Their objective was to investigate Helix and their origin using the faked letter that the intelligence platform made from therm. The disguise was simple, they were from the financing assistant from the Panamanian government and they wanted to find out the existence of Helix without being disturbed by the Ambrosia since they were disguising as a citizen of the United States.
The US had a very large authority over the world stage after all. It wouldn’t be a big surprise if the Ambrosia cartel wouldn’t come after them with the US passport in their pocket. That was also the main reason why they were dressing up as civilians. Patrick wore a formal shirt and a black pants while Lynn wore the same thing only more feminized.
Their landing zone would be a parking lot near the panama capital. That parking lot would be designated as the landing zone due to the fact that it was located very far away from any civilization. It was located in the middle of a dense forest with barely enough space for the helicopter to land. However, any HSDC pilot should be able to insert personnel to any zone without any difficulties since it was one of the requirements to be a pilot of the HSDC.
“Patrick, do you think we are too conspicuous?” Lynn asked.
Patrick didn’t answer. He just looked at the scenery without replying his girlfriend. All he could think right now was the fact that he saw Farl at the abandoned missile base that was located deep inside of the Panama Canal. It simply made Patrick nervous. If the person who Lynn thought that his head was blown off was still alive, Patrick wondered about the others.
“Sorry, I was missing out. No, I don’t think we are too obvious. We are only a civilian after all, we better stay to our nature as a regular person if we don’t want to stand out,” Patrick said and he looked at the sky again.
It was one of Patrick’s response to Lynn’s statement. Lynn statement wasn’t meaningless either since Lynn knew that the Ambrosia wasn’t that dumb either. They might know if there was something wrong. If there was something wrong, they would be immediately fell into a deep mumbo jumbo. Patrick didn’t want their cover to be blown either, but that was the only choice to investigate the company without arising further suspicion. They had bribed for the service after all so there would be no issue.
“We might have paid 500$ to the nearest authority, but that doesn’t mean that they won’t kill us either. Well, we just have to stay vigilant and keep our eyes opened for something that out of the ordinary. Don’t worry, as long as you’re with me. You will be safe,” Patrick said proudly to Lynn.
Lynn nodded in her understanding. Patrick was reliable as a person. He also had cheated death twice so lady luck might on his side after all. However, Lynn was still paranoid about that, for example, she still packed an FN Five-seveN on his pocket. She simply didn’t want to take any risk about what could possibly happened.
The Blackhawk arrived at the parking lot. It was literally located in the middle of the forest. A camping ground to be exact. That was the only spot where HSDC could do an insertion without being looked as too obvious. Patrick went down from the helicopter and Lynn followed him shortly. The helicopter took off from the ground afterwards and Patrick waved his hand at that helicopter.
According to the mission details, there would be a car parked inside of that parking lot. There was a car inside of that parking lot, the car was a standard Chevrolet suburban that HSDC always used during their clandestine operation. It was weird considering that the car was used at almost every single situation that HSDC had ever face and the enemies hadn’t found out about the car yet.
Patrick and Lynn entered the car. Patrick was the driver. He started the car and he drove through the road that was covered in greeneries from the forest. Many leaves and trees were in that campsite. It might be possible that the camp site was abandoned. Patrick judged that the campsite was abandoned due to the fact that it was located too far from any civilization.
Lynn opened a file that was put on the backseat of the car. The file contained many papers about the suspected intel about Helix. There were also many gadgets that Patrick and Lynn could use during their covert operation. One of the gadgets was glasses. They were special glasses.
Those glasses could be used to take pictures and scan the entire area of hostiles. It would mark the hostiles with a red outline and the glasses would warn the user about the presence of any hostile unit. Those glasses were worn by both of them. Patrick and Lynn were used to wearing glasses since both of them had worn it during their high school year although at a very different circumstance. Patrick was wearing them during his time at Trinity while Lynn had worn them during his junior high school time.
The other gadget was a very small camera that could be used to take any picture covertly without attracting any attention from unknown parties. Patrick would use that camera to photograph any documents that he could fin at the Panamanian government office. Lynn found another tool, it was a pen.
However, it was a special pen with the tips of the pen was covered with paralysis poison. If its consumed by any human, they would be paralyzed for the next 3 hours if no antidote was given. However, the gadget would only be used in an emergency situation where running was necessary and they needed to run from the Ambrosia without any witnesses.
Patrick was sure that he didn’t need that pen, but Lynn would need it since she was fragile because she was a woman. “Lynn, I think the pen will be more useful in you than me,” Patrick said as he gave her the pen.
They drove out of the dense and heavy forest and went for the main street. It seemed odd to see the street filled with cars from the cold war. It was expected for Patrick and Lynn though. Panama or any country in Latin America usually still had technologies back in the cold war and cars were one of them.
However, they didn’t look that standing out since the car was dirty and was used by multiple operators before them. Still, it was standing out from the other cars. However, it could be a good thing or a bad thing since their disguise were as a foreigner in Panama so that car would do the job. However, that car would make them stand out on the roads and made them an easy target.
“I swear, I have to tell the intelligence team to change their methods every now and then. This kind of stagnancy will kill us sooner or later.” Patrick pressed the horn to warn the stupid the driver in front of him. The traffic was jammed due to the fact that it was at night hours where the entertainment area was opened and people were coming from multiple directions to the capital.
“Patrick, is it ok to enter a government building at night time like this?” Lynn asked.
“Well, as far as I’m concerned, it’s ok. However, as I said, just stay vigilant,” Patrick answered.
The traffic finally moved a little bit faster and Patrick started his preparation to enter the government building. He put his pistol inside of the hidden pocket inside of his pants and Lynn started loading bullets into the spare magazine that she would put inside of a hidden pocket inside of her coat.
“Alright, time for a showdown.”
