Pilgrims Of The Dying World - Chapter 66
Chapter 66: Epilogue (1)
Ying Zheng had a smile on his face looking at Xin. He also ignored the man with a yellowish face he sent into fly just a second before.
“Hello.”
Said Xin, trying to look behind his back to see how the state of that Agent was and whether the blue girl was helping him. Sadly, there was so much dust after several trees crashed that he couldn’t see anything.
“Yeah, good day. Feels good finally punching that bastard’s face, he was annoying back then. So, where’s the hag?”
Xin shook his head and said.
“I can show the way.”
“Good, just give me a second”
Before Ying Zheng could finish his line, the man appeared just behind him, as fast as a lightning. He was holding his sickle-like weapon aiming directly at the neck.
Suddenly Ying Zheng leaned and caught the man by his hand above.
“Eat shit.”
He slammed the man’s body at the ground to the left of Xin. The boy immediately jumped away.
“Can’t stand annoying bastards like that.”
While the man was trying to roll away Ying Zheng lifted his foot and hit his face.
Boom!
Blood spilled.
Boom!
Boom!
Boom!
Again and again, he was stepping on the man, and again and again, the dust was rising around.
“And did those feet in ancient times,
Walk upon Heaven’s mountains white”
He was humming to himself during the process.
“Well.” He said looking at his foot, completely red by now.
“That will need a lot of cleaning. That yours by the way.”
Ying Zheng pulled a red tooth from his sole and threw it at the man.
“Be glad I don’t kill with children around. Oh, that concerns you as well, girlie. Come out.”
Xin saw a blue silhouette emerge from behind a broken trunk. She was holding something resembling a bow in her hands, but he could not say for sure. Her gaze was unusually stern and serious while looking at Ying Zheng.
“Leave him and there won’t be any troubles for you.”
“There won’t be regardless, come on, brat.”
Before Xin could say anything about wishing to hear what the old man was about to say, he suddenly felt the wind on his face and then everything around blurred and vanished. Both he and Ying Zheng disappeared.
The girl ran toward the man and lifted his head, tears in her eyes.
“Put the sound barrier, immediately”
Before the man, barely alive, could finish his words, a loud shout sounded. An elderly and hoarse voice was heard everywhere in a kilometer’s distance.
“You were saved by Wei Lao of Wei Clan!”
The moon went its way around the firmament, the stars dimed and vanished. Soon a bright new sun was looming over the horizon, lightening a cold early morning’s sky.
A silhouette, completely black, was crawling in the forest. Its fur in mud and dust, its dark blood leaving a trace behind it. Suddenly, it thrust its paw and gasped a little mouse. At once, it twisted its head, and the next second the mouse grew grey and dried to the skin.
The wolf swallowed it at once and continued crawling farther. Several hours went by, many small animals were eaten by it, and finally, something large appeared in front of it.
“Brother”
Voice sounded from above, and the wolf raised its head. A grey silhouette was looking down at him; a strange warm smile on its face, if that is even possible for a wolf.
“I see you are in a bad shape”
“Agh”
The black thing clenched Mo Guang’s leg. The following moment it became blacker as if charred.
“Who do you think you are, slave, I still can crash you as a fly. Your death will feed me well.”
It growled and bit the leg, the blood gushed out and it started licking it like crazy.
“You can, but you will not, brother. Stop.”
The black wolf froze. Both its body and teeth. Its black eyes went wide when it looked at the grey wolf standing above him; it claws hysterically went to the back of its head.
“Slave slave seal.”
“Yes, that’s right.” The grey wolf seemed completely calm, even though its leg was bleeding heavily.
“How, how is that possible?”
“That is a long story. Since the beginning, my brother was my slave, not I am his how you were made to think. We used that to deceive you. I see it has worked.”
He was clearly pronouncing each word.
“But, but”
“It was quite easy, first the slave seal, then the absorption crystal. The only unsure factor was that other demon, but she agreed in the end, and we managed to drive you to the point when you Had to use my brother as a vessel to crash the crystal. The vessel with a slave seal on.”
“You lie, I saw memories!”
“Memories? Of course, we altered them as well, I have changed my memories at the beginning of this war. I knew how suspicious you are, so I only lifted the seal once you had scanned my mind when you were brought in. Of course, you saw nothing.”
“That That”
“Scared, aren’t you?”
The grey wolf crouched, caressing his brother’s fur. His eyes were completely calm, like two deep blue seas.
“How scared you are, how pathetic You deserve this suffering and more for killing my brother. Now, however, your personality isn’t needed anymore. A more silent slave will be sufficient.”
The grey wolf smiled, and the last light of consciousness vanished from the black wolf’s face. He became no more than a puppet. His head weakly fell to the side. The black in his eyes vanished, replaced by a deep blue.
“Now let’s go.” He said standing up, and the puppet followed him, its head still lowered.
“We still have a long way to restore your power, the first stage of the plan is successful, and now your Empire is waiting for you, Emperor.”
