Please Cooperate In The Execution Of S-Class Official Duties - Chapter 35
Waking up at dawn to go on a business trip was rather tough. Even so, it’ll be hard for Seheon to host the news while seated due to his back, and I can’t believe I’m on a business trip to Ulsan.
If it weren’t for PD Park, who said he didn’t want to ride in the van of the cultural department’s team and volunteered to drive in his stead, he would have inevitably taken a taxi.
“Anchor-nim, aren’t you tired?”
“I’m fine.”
Of course, that was how he answered PD Park’s words. He absolutely hated exaggerating his hardship to others. Besides, this was work. Since he’d returned back to work, it’d be best if he worked without making excuses.
What’s good about working with a frown and making others uncomfortable? That was Seheon’s personality.
Even though Seheon was drowsy during the entire journey, he still prepared for the interview in the car. At the same time, he was a little nervous. He didn’t know Hara well, but he remembered Hara’s reaction when they first met and when they tried to film a mana stone management public interest video in the studio.
At that time, Hara looked rather uncomfortable. The more someone was uncomfortable with broadcasting, the harder it would be to film together.
However, when they actually began filming the documentary, Kang Hara performed much easier than he’d thought. When he’d asked a silly question on purpose to gain the response he wanted, she gave them a very good answer.
The most interesting thing occurred when they talked about Eonyang’s amethysts. While talking about mana stones, Hara jumped up all of a sudden.
The producers let out amazed gasps. It was because Hara flew like it wasn’t anything, pulled out a crystal attached to the ceiling and handed it over to him.
She used the sword in her hand to cut the crystal open like it was a radish, held it out to Seheon and said, “Look at this. Apparently, mana stones would keep popping out like this.”
Seheon blinked and asked.
“You’ve become more used to it.”
“Hm? Yes, that’s right. That reminds me. The anchor had a hard time because of me then.”
Hara gave an embarrassed smile. Seheon also couldn’t help but smile.
It was rather absurd that Hara shot up into the air and left Seheon behind in the Yeouido dungeon. He couldn’t help but laugh when he recalled it.
The PD filming Hara seemed to find it quite interesting, and gave a signal to ask more questions.
“Did you only gain flight skills?”
“I can’t reveal everything because I’m still in the midst of training.”
As she said that, Hara passed the mana stone to Seheon rather naturally. It was such a natural action that when Seheon received the mana stone, he was momentarily bewildered. It’s because it felt like she was giving him a gift.
However, as soon as the shooting was over, Team K’s Raeyoung approached and took the mana stone from Seheon. Only then did Seheon realise that mana stones were government-owned items, and he felt slightly embarrassed.
“Is it common to awaken a skill, like in the case of Kang Hara-ssi?”
Raeyoung, who was chewing gum, popped the bubble and answered.
“It’s not very common. But it’s not like it never happened before.”
It was a prearranged response. Of course, it’s not like those words were groundless.
“Things like that could happen after catching a field boss. In other words, you can learn a field boss’s skill. If you gain equipment like Hunter Kwon Wook’s Flame Ring, you can use their skills through the gear.”
“That’s interesting.”
“Dungeons are always like that. No one knows what will happen.”
“Wouldn’t it be inconvenient if unexpected things kept occuring?”
Raeyoung, who chewed her gum a couple more times, chuckled.
“Do you know everything that would happen in your life, Ahjussi?”
It was a mature response, which made it hard to believe that it’s coming from a twenty-four year old.
While it was the answer Seheon intended to gain, it was a little bitter because of that. It’s because the rumours about Raeyoung surfaced in his mind.
She was a runaway teenager, and left because she couldn’t endure any more of her father’s violence. If it weren’t for the Awakened grade evaluator of A she’d gotten when she went to the community center for her identification card, no one would have looked for Raeyoung. He heard later on that all the civil servants of that region were deployed to locate Raeyoung.
“And I like this job, because what I earn is equivalent to what I’ve worked for.”
An equivalent to what she’d worked for…… But there were those that wouldn’t gain a good reward, even if they worked for their entire lives. Seheon couldn’t help but think of Hara.
Just then, Raeyoung glanced at Kwon Wook.
“That man, he’s doing it again.”
When Seheon glanced in the direction she was looking at, Kwon Wook was whispering something to Kang Hara. His hand was on Hara’s shoulder and he pointed to the werewolf, probably for something related to her training.
“……I guess everyone in Team K is very close.”
As Seheon asked, he felt awkward for some reason. He’d even wondered if he was being too conservative. Even if they were co-workers, can he just put his hand on her shoulder like that?
Raeyoung snorted at him.
“I’m probably much closer to that Unnie though.”
Then, Raeyoung strode over. Seheon followed her.
When he took a closer look, Kwon Wook was encouraging Hara to catch that werewolf. The problem was that the staff who had begun their break from across them were opening the lunch boxes on the table.
Well, that much was still alright. However, Hara seemed slightly uncomfortable from Seheon’s perspective.
“I’m sure they’ve also done sufficient mental preparation before coming.”
“Just because they are mentally prepared doesn’t mean that everything will be alright.”
Seheon reached out and gently pulled Kwon Wook’s hand, which was wrapped around Hara’s shoulder.
Kwon Wook’s eyes widened and said, “Wow, a handshake,” before naturally grabbing Seheon’s hand to shake it.
This is a smart one. Seheon thought while looking at Kwon Wook.
“Everyone is eating their lunch boxes, so let’s do that later on.”
“That would be a little dangerous.”
“Aren’t those words a bit too weak for an S-class hunter to say?”
“Ah, if you say that, I’ll feel embarrassed.”
Kwon Wook tilted his head and smiled.
As he flashed his eye-smile lightly, Seheon seemed to understand why he had so many fans..
“Let’s eat first.”
“Then shall we eat together? Actually, I always respected Anchor Yoon Seheon.”
What respect? Seheon held back his snort and turned around. Then Hara quickly caught up with him.
“Oh, come to think of it, Anchor Yoon, I have something to give you…”
“What is it?”
“Uh……”
For some reason, Hara looked at Kwon Wook before lowering her voice.
“I’ll give it to you in a little while. It’s not anything much…”
However, Kwon Wook quickly butted in.
“What is it? What is it? Give it to me, too.”
“No, it’s not that. It belongs to Anchor Yoon.”
Something that belongs to him? Seheon tilted his head.
Hara opened her mouth again.
“At that time, didn’t you give me a necktie…”
“Ah.”
It was only then that Seheon remembered the tie that he wrapped around Hara’s feet as she’d lost a loafer. He’d completely forgotten about it.
“Why a necktie?”
“Well.”
When Hara explained the whole story, Kwon Wook went, “Oh,” and his lips pursed.
“It’s so romantic.”
“……It’s not like that……”
“What do you mean, it’s not like that? Anchor Yoon is so cool. I’m going to call you Hyung-nim. Wrapping a necktie around a woman’s feet. It’s awesome.”
“…….”
Seheon didn’t respond to Kwon Wook’s words.
However, Kwon Wook clapped and even chanted, “Ask her out, ask her out.” Just then, a growl rang out from behind. If he hadn’t heard that sound, he would’ve continued to chant those words while walking towards the broadcasting staff.
Kwon Wook looked back, noticed the werewolves were growling while staring at the people, and said, “Oh dear. I’ll catch up with you soon,” and walked over to the werewolves to kick them.
Whine, the werewolf fell to the ground with a thud.
Wasn’t it a D-class? Seheon recalled how much of a hard time he and Hara had with a carnivorous rabbit of the same grade, feeling empty for some reason.
In the end, Hara failed to pass the tie to Seheon. It’s because an unexpected person came to their break area.
It was none other than Jung Yoojin, the chief of the Mapo branch office.
“Chief!”
“You’re here?”
Chief Jung’s full brows furrowed as she smiled.
“I came all the way here because of you, but what’s this? Making your chief come and go around.”
“Heok, I’m sorry. But I didn’t know that you’d be coming.”
Hara hesitated momentarily, and Chief Jung ruffled Hara’s hair and laughed loudly.
“I’m just kidding, kid. Since our branch’s staff will be on air, I should come over and take a look.”
Normally, the chief would take care of broadcast-related matters. The doubtful Seheon bowed to Chief Jung silently.
Chief Jung said, “Oh, Reporter Yoon. It’s been a while since we last met,” and shook hands with him.
“Do you both know each other?”
“I’d met Reporter Yoon when he was still entering and exiting the Mapo branch office.”
PD Park was astonished by Chief Jung’s visit and rushed over belatedly, but he went back to eat relaxedly after learning that she’d just come to observe.
Chief Jung clicked her tongue.
“He’s so afraid that I’ll halt the filming that he ran over.”
PD Park’s surprise was natural, as information regarding hunters were kept a secret to the public that there were times broadcasts were halted after the shooting was completed.
As Producer Park ate at a distance away, he kept glancing at the chatting Yoojin and Seheon.
Eventually, Chief Jung gestured to Seheon.
“I can’t hold onto Reporter Yoon any longer. Go and tell him there’s nothing wrong with the shooting.”
“I will. Let’s meet sometime later on.”
“Okay. This?”
Chief Jung mimicked drinking from a shot glass. Seheon chuckled and moved towards the production team. Chief Jung watched his retreating back for a while and folded her arms.
“Hey, Hara.”
“Yes?”
Hara, who was holding two lunch boxes after receiving Chief Jung’s portion, was startled.
“I’ve been thinking about it.”
“What were you thinking about?”
“The conditions of the relationship that that constellation mentioned. Do you absolutely have to fall in love, confess successfully, and date?”
[The constellation, ‘Cupid’ loves it]
