Please Cooperate In The Execution Of S-Class Official Duties - Chapter 59
First, Hara immediately sent a text to Kang Hada. It was a threat that she’d restore his hairline back to its original state if he didn’t restore the money back to its original state.
As soon as she sent it, the ‘1’ disappeared. He’d definitely read the message, but there wasn’t any reply.
[The constellation, ‘Cupid’ reads the atmosphere]
The constellation, who’d been as still as a dead mouse while Hara fought with Hada with gritted teeth, finally spoke up.
Wow, even a mister like him has enough tact to read the atmosphere.
Hara pretended not to notice and searched for Yoojung’s name in her phone.
‘Should I ask Manager Yoojung to let me stay over for a night……’
But it’s already too late in the night. It wasn’t like she didn’t have any friends, but it wouldn’t be right to call at this hour and ask to stay over for a day. It was getting late, so even if they were friends, Yoojung would be inconvenienced if a guest showed up.
She began walking with trudging steps for now. If she stayed outside for an hour or two and went home early in the morning, her mom might pretend not to be unaware. The dilemma of a child that really left the house when their parents told them to get out continued.
But was it really alright when she’d wrecked the house like that? Of course, it seemed like it wasn’t alright.
[The constellation, ‘Cupid’ asks if he should open a dungeon or something]
“No, what are you opening the gate here for?”
Was it something like, ‘Can I just break that down? I’ll turn your house into a complete ruin.’?
When Hara’s eyes turned sharp, the constellation observed her mood discreetly and asked again.
[The constellation, ‘Cupid’ says that he’ll open a gate for you and asks if you’d want to sleep in the safe zone]
Her vision became blurry. She was so touched that tears welled up.
Of course, this was a lie. While she still had the multiplication skill, she wanted to take a swing at the constellation if he was right in front of her.
At this very moment, Hara made up her mind. She had to become the top dog. She’ll become the top dog and beat up all the constellations, which kept picking fights.
[The constellation, ‘Cupid’ says that it’s a good decision, but feels that Kang Hara’s character had changed, and so he discreetly reads her mood again]
Amidst all this, Hara felt aggrieved for some reason and placed her hand against the neighbourhood’s wall absentmindedly. The wall sunk in like some sort of flower in the shape of Hara’s finger.
In the end, Hara cautiously made her way to the bus stop during the multiplication skill’s activation period. Even at such a late hour, the bus stop near Mapo Station was bustling with people, so Hara could only relax after the period has ended.
[The constellation, ‘Cupid’ asks where are you going?]
“I’m going to entrust the d*mned ostrich egg to someone else.”
Hara could feel someone glancing at her. Perhaps they were wondering which crazy woman was muttering while standing alone.
Normally, she would’ve been intimidated by that gaze, but now she didn’t want to care about all these.
* * *
Obviously, it’s full name was ‘A giant eagle’s egg’, it has already been the fourth day since they unconsciously called it an ostrich egg while handing it back and forth.
After receiving Hara’s message, Seheon came out of the main gate of his apartment complex. Seheon lived in the new apartment complex that was built between Yeouido and Daebang.
Although he said that she didn’t have to come all the way here, Hara’s replying message stated that she’d already gotten on the bus. At this hour at that.
It wasn’t like Seheon was unaware that Hara’s house was just a 10-minute drive away. With that in mind, he received the bag that Hara handed over.
After opening the bag and ascertaining the faintly shining object, which he didn’t know whether it was a mood light or an ostrich egg, Seheon said out of courtesy.
“Thank you.”
“Don’t mention it.”
Even Seheon could tell. Kang Hara wasn’t an energetic type normally. While there were times she was strangely overexcited, that happened when she was either embarrassed or rambling, and normally, she’d speak cautiously.
Nevertheless, Hara was oddly subdued this evening.
“Well then, take care.”
When Hara bowed her head slightly, something caught Seheon’s eye. It was Hara’s reddened eyes. Anyone could tell that she’d been crying.
Seheon was conflicted.
‘Should I pretend to be unaware?’
It was not a casual dilemma about whether or not to comfort her.
While Seheon had certainly been jokingly going, “Hara-ya,” this afternoon, cracking jokes and comforting someone were in two slightly different territories. While jokes could be exchanged thoughtlessly and it’d end in laughter, comforting someone was a more personal and profound matter then one might think.
Ultimately, Seheon wondered if they could inquire about such things, considering the fact that their relationship only happened through the constellation’s binding.
However, Seheon immediately found the question ludicrous. What exactly was their relationship, as two people bound together by the constellation?
Wasn’t this the so-called romantic relationship? A romantic relationship is a relationship where two people can share even the most sensitive and profound issues. And didn’t Seheon talk about establishing such a relationship with Hara not too long ago?
In this situation, someone that just sends away a girlfriend, whose face was covered with tears, would be called trash by the world.
“Wait a moment, Kang Hara-ssi.”
Eventually, Seheon called out to the woman that was trudging away. As Kang Hara blinked and turned to look back, the damp corners of her eyes were visible beneath the streetlight, indicating she had cried somewhere.
“Did you cry?”
At that moment.
[Pass!]
[The constellation, ‘Cupid’ is happy]
Seheon’s eyebrows furrowed. This is because the system message was clearly visible even to him.
What’s this? Seheon reached out and turned off the message unknowingly, but instead of vanishing, more than 10 windows appeared again with a Poppoppop.
[The constellation, ‘Cupid’ likes the designated user, ‘Yoon Seheon’]
[The constellation, ‘Cupid’ is happy with Yoon Seheon’s interest in Kang Hara]
[The constellation, ‘Cupid’ hopes for consolation]
[The constellation, ‘Cupid’ retracts that. The constellation, ‘Cupid’ hopes for Kang Hara to be consoled]
Things like that.
Kang Hara, who was likewise looking at the system windows, jumped up with an “Argh!” and ran up to Yoon Seheon, struggling to turn off all the windows.
However, it was too late. The constellation went, Kang Hara was kicked out of the house, so there’s nowhere she can go, anyways, are you really going to just send Kang Hara away like this. Afterwards, he even captured a picture of a cheese-coloured cat looking up pitifully from the Internet and posted it.
[Event quest: Please guide the pitiful and young runaway]
[Goal: Please shelter the user ‘Kang Hara’ for a day]
[Reward: Morpheus’s sleeping pill (1)]
Hara’s mind went blank, while Seheon chuckled.
It wasn’t unexpected for this charlatan-like constellation to behave like this anymore. However, the reward was a little tempting.
“A sleeping pill…”
Due to the shining egg, sleep has eluded him these days, and Seheon desperately needed a good night’s sleep. Seheon glanced at Hara.
“What will you do?”
“Well, I’m alright though……”
[The constellation, ‘Cupid’ isn’t alright though!]
[The constellation, ‘Cupid’ hopes that Hara would do a lot of quests! (◞‸◟ㆀ)]
“I don’t think the constellation is alright though.”
Seheon shrugged his shoulders.
“And well, I do have a spare room in my house.”
* * *
Kang Hara naturally ended up stepping into Yoon Seheon’s house. Hara followed Seheon through the front door hesitantly, with the words ‘I wanna die,’ written all over her face.
“E, excuse me……”
It was her first time entering a guy’s house. But it was Yoon Seheon’s house, of all things. She felt like she was about to faint.
When Seheon glanced back at her, Hara couldn’t help but flinch and speak in a crawling voice.
“Erm, I could sleep at the front entrance……”
“Wouldn’t I appear a little like trash if I told you to do that?”
“…….”
“I don’t think we’ll receive the quest reward if I sheltered you at the front entrance.”
Seheon’s face was more relaxed than usual, and he gestured with his chin.
“There is a guest room over there, so you can wash up and sleep there. There should also be clothes for guests in there as well.”
“Oh, yes…”
Only then did Hara tried to take off her shoes to enter, but she ended up flinching again. Because she’d stomped around and broke the floor of her own house, cement and sand were clinging to her heels.
Hara looked at the dust that fell without her realisation, before walking carefully on her toes.
Pitter patter, when Kang Hara said, “Thank you!” and quickly entered the guest room, Seheon unknowingly smiled before his expression stiffened immediately and he pretended to be solemn.
Hara wondered what he meant by ‘you can wash up and sleep in the guest room’, but she only understood after entering the room. The room, which was slightly larger than Hara’s, also had a bathroom. It had a bed, as well as a built-in closet.
While riding the apartment complex’s elevator, Seheon briefly explained that because his house was in front of the Yeouido broadcasting station, and as such, his juniors would occasionally crash at his place.
When Hara opened the wardrobe, she seemed to understand. Anyone could tell that it was a set of men’s pajamas hanging there. It was most likely for his juniors to wear when they took turns to crash at his place. Still, the room felt a bit chilly and bleak, as it wasn’t a place where someone would normally frequent.
However, her feelings of surrealism disappeared as soon as she entered the bathroom and doused herself in warm water. In its stead were feelings of absurdity, sadness, and relief.
It was unbelievable that she was suddenly showering at Yoon Seheon’s house, but what was even more absurd was the fact that Yoon Seheon offered her a place to stay.
Despite that, she felt relieved, and thankful.
Up till now, Seheon hadn’t even asked Hara why she was kicked out of her house. All the worrying she had done about how to explain her situation seemed insignificant now.
The hot water poured down. Hara rubbed her face multiple times, as though she was trying to wash away the events of the day.
After showering, she opened the bedroom door. It was because she thought Seheon had fallen asleep by now.
However, Hara peeked out of the door and made eye contact with the restless Seheon that was outside. It seemed like he had been pacing outside out of worry for Hara, who’d entered the guest room.
Hara couldn’t help but laugh. Seheon looked away awkwardly.
[The constellation, ‘Cupid’ likes this]
[The constellation, ‘Cupid’ wants to know if there’s anything you guys want to eat]
[Such as ramen, or something…]
Hey, cut that crap. Hara glared at the air. The system message hurriedly disappeared.
