Pokemon: Master Of Tactics - Chapter 353
1 week later.
Hoenn, Rustboro City
Alex was standing in front of a villa encircled by a large fence and can only be entered through the large entrance gate.
The villa was humongous and had several sections in which it was divided. It had everything you can imagine. A large pool, several high-class cars, playgrounds, a very large garden, a sauna, and a battlefield for Pokémon fights.
The small mine that was near the villa, however, was the thing that caught Alex’s attention the most.
Alex, stood by this villa for the second time and he didn’t look at all the luxurious things but at the Mine with a curious expression.
He wasn’t quite sure why this Mine is here. but he would like to know what exactly is there.
Rare Pokemon, gems, or maybe even something completely different.
Gardevoir said telepathically, “Father, it’s that Psychic Pokémon again.”
“You mean the same Pokemon that had us observing the first time we were here.”
“Yes, father.”
Alex showed a curious expression as he said, “can you now perceive its strength or where is this Pokemon observing us from?
Gardevoir said in a slightly sad tone, “I’m sorry father. I still can’t tell exactly how strong it is. It should be stronger than me.”
Alex showed a small smile as he said, “Why are you apologizing to me? It’s not like you did anything wrong.”
After a brief moment of silence, Alex began to look slightly serious as he said, “Kid, what’s wrong? Why are you so sad about such a small thing? …If you have problems, you can tell me. I will do my best to help you.”
Gardevoir hesitated for a few moments but she didn’t say a word.
When Alex thought that Gardevoir wouldn’t say anything, she started to say in a small voice.
“I’m afraid” The tone with which Gardevoir said these words were full of fear and worry.
Alex’s face wrinkled when he heard that. He has known Gardevoir all her life and he realized how serious Gardevoir’s fear is, as soon as he heard her tone.
Alex tried to say in a very soothing tone, “Why?”
Gardevoir didn’t want to answer, but she knew she couldn’t get out of this topic anymore.
Her father wouldn’t let go as long as he didn’t know what was wrong with her.
this persistence is a blessing and a curse.
She tried to say in a less emotional tone, “Father… are you disappointed in me?”
Alex was speechless for a moment. After processing these words, he said with an angry expression, “Are you stupid? How can a clever Pokemon like you come up with such stupid ideas.”
“Listen carefully. I’VE NEVER BEEN DISAPPOINTED WITH YOU. …Stupid Kid.”
Gardevoir showed a relieved expression as she felt/heard Alex’s emotions and words, though he had repeatedly called her stupid.
She exited her Pokeball and looked at Alex with a slightly apologetic look.
“Sorry, dad. I said something very stupid.”
Alex, who saw that Gardevoir didn’t doubt his words, smiled slightly.
Although his words were still very harsh, “You’re right. You really said something very stupid. How do you come up with something like that.”
Gardevoir suddenly showed a nervous expression.
After a moment of hesitation, she said, “I thought… I… I feel like I’m getting more and more useless every day. My potential is poor compared to the other Pokemon and my existence is wasting so much money. …If I can’t even sense Pokemon anymore… what am I good for?”
Alex’s eyes carried a soft manifestation as he said, “Gardevoir, we’re a family. Usefulness isn’t everything in a family. It’s that simple. ”
“That being said, everyone in the family contributes their part. Each family member has their talents and weaknesses. ”
After a moment, Alex said, “As for the money… I’ve never considered money very important and you don’t need to worry about it.”
Gardevoir showed a hesitant expression “But..”
Alex displayed a serious expression. “Gardevoir, the decision is already made. I will use Money until You, Scizor, and Crobat have an SS Rank Potential.”
Gardevoir saw the firmness in Alex’s eyes as he said those words and she started to get tears in her eyes.
Alex hugged Gardevoir when he noticed this. He also said, “You’re really worrying too much. It’s not only for your future but also for the whole family. Do you know how much more useful you get in the future if you become an SS-ranked Pokemon? What’s a little money in comparison.”
Gardevoir knew that her Born Potential wasn’t that great and that her father could find a Psychic-type Pokemon with better Born Potential than her.
She’s a smart Pokemon and understood how much cheaper that would be.
Gardevoir gave her father a hug as she thought, ‘Thank you, father. I’ll make you proud.’
