Pokemon Pearl - Chapter 33
By 4:34 p.m., after healing their Pokémon, Rico and Lucas came back to the park. There Rosario and Ben met them while holding some paper plates containing fried and quick snacks. At the park’s central elevated stairs, they ate their afternoon meal.
“Wow, you look so strong,” Ben comments about Rico’s battle with his father in mild positivity. His Staraptor then responded in happiness and seriousness.
“Yeah right,” Rosario added in positivity. Her Azumarill then responded in happiness.
“Yup, Rico is already a strong trainer,” Lucas brightly replied. His Magneton then responded in happiness.
“Yeah, thanks,” Rico happily replied as he sips his water bottle. His Pokémon then responded in happiness. It then followed by a short silence, with eating and drinking. Then, after their meal, Rosario interrupted the silence and suggested to Rico, “So, Rico Titus, since you battled your dad, how about battle me. A two-on-two battle.” Rico then think about it for a while, and then responded with confidence, “Okay, mom! Let’s do this!”
At the park’s battle field, Rico and Rosario had a Pokémon battle; their first Pokémon are Riolu and Azumarill. Lucas, Ben, and the rest of their Pokémon are now watching them. It’s a mother versus son battle. Lucas then pulled out a mini bell and its stick, and ring it four times.
“Well, let’s see what it takes to beat a woman like me,” Rosario said in style.
“Okay, I will, mom,” Rico retorted in style. Then in a stunned state upon seeing a new Pokémon, “I seen that Pokémon before.” He then checked in his Pokédex; his Pokédex then responded, “Azumarill, the Aqua Rabbit Pokémon, and the final evolved form of Azurill. A Water and Fairy-type. Its long ears are superb sensors. It can distinguish the movements of living things on river beds.”
“Wow, that’s cute and cool,” Rico calmly commented.
“Cute indeed,” Rosario replied in style, “So, are you ready to beat your mommy?” Rico then nodded in agreement and in determination. And so, the battle began, and Rosario will had her first move, “Azumarill, use Water Gun!” Azumarill then used Water Gun, blasting Riolu with a forceful shot of water, striking it effectively.
“Quickly, use Counter!” Rico seriously commanded Riolu. Snapping out from being attacked, Riolu used Counter, retaliating a punch-blow, striking Azumarill very effectively.
“Wow, that’s powerful,” Rosario commented in an interesting style, “What about this?” Then to her Azumarill, “Azumarill, use Aqua Tail!” Azumarill then used Aqua Tail, charging towards Riolu and attacks by swinging its tail as if it were a vicious wave in a raging storm. But Riolu dodged it quickly in alert. This stuns Rosario in amazement while Rico smiled in style and confidence.
“Quickly, use Karate Chop!” Rico commanded Riolu in a quick response. Riolu then used Karate Chop delivering a sharp chop, hitting Azumarill very effective. This amazes Lucas, Ben, and the rest of their Pokémon. Azumarill then was weakened to the ground.
“Don’t give up, Azumarill,” Rosario seriously commanded her Azumarill, “Use Hydro Pump!” Getting up, Azumarill used Hydro Pump, blasting water at high power, striking Riolu very effective, and eventually weakened it to the ground. This shocks Rico and he thought, “Oh, no, Riolu, don’t give up.” Then, moments later, Riolu got up and stand up in seriousness and determination. This stuns Rico, Rosario, and Azumarill. Riolu then used Focus Blast, heightening its mental focus and unleashes its power, striking Azumarill.
“Woah, your bond with Riolu makes it much stronger,” Ben commented in explaining a fact and in enthusiasm.
“It does?” Rico calmly replied, “Wow, that’s awesome.” Litleo and Piplup then responded in plain.
Back in the battle, Riolu then again used Focus Blast, heightening its mental focus and unleashes its power, finishing Azumarill up. Azumarill then collapsed to the ground and fainted in exhaustion.
“Azumarill is unable to battle,” Ben announced as a referee, “Riolu wins. One more Pokémon for Mrs. Cruz.” Lucas then enthusiastically rang his bell, one once and another thrice. Calling back her Azumarill softly, Rosario softly and calmly commented, “Well, good one, honey, you really beat me, or in other words, your mommy.”
“Yes, thanks,” Rico brightly answered. Riolu then happily responded. Rosario then put back her Pokéball in her pink, leather purse. She then switched to another and her last Pokémon, Sylveon.
“Oh, yeah,” Rosario said to Rico in a narcissistic-like style, “Can you handle the Pokémon of softness and calmness?” She then called her Sylveon, and it stepped into battle in swiftness and grace.
“I seen that Pokémon before,” Rico commented in stunning. He then checked in his Pokédex; his Pokédex then responded, “Sylveon, the Intertwining Pokémon, and the evolved form of Eevee. A Fairy-Type. It wraps its ribbonlike feelers around the arm of its beloved Trainer and walks with him or her.”
“Wow, so graceful,” Rico calmly commented.
“Swift and graceful indeed,” Rosario said to him in style of a woman, “So are you ready for the second round?” Rico then nodded in agreement and in determination and seriousness. But in the park’s oak and pine trees, Blue Ninja and his two Pokémon are standing on a tree branch, watching them in seriousness.
And then, as the sun sets over the city horizon, the battle began, with Lucas ringing the bell four times.
“Alright, Sylveon, use Tackle!” Rosario commanded Sylveon in coolness. Her Sylveon then used Tackle, charging towards Riolu.
“Quickly, use Quick Attack!” Rico seriously commanded Riolu. Riolu then used Quick Attack charging towards Sylveon in a fast pace. The two Pokémon then hit to each other.
“Then use Karate Chop!” Rico quickly commanded Riolu. Riolu then used Karate Chop, delivering a sharp chop, hitting Sylveon with inflicting pain.
“Use Fairy Wind!” Rosario seriously commanded Sylveon. Snapping out from being attacked, Sylveon used Fairy Wind, stirring up a fairy wind and strikes Riolu with it, hitting it effectively. Riolu was then weakened to the ground.
“Oh, no, don’t give up, Riolu,” Rico thought in worry and stunning. But Riolu fainted in exhaustion. This shocks Rico.
“Riolu is unable to battle,” Ben announced, “Sylveon wins. One more Pokémon for Rico.” Lucas then rang his bell, one thrice and another once. Calling back his Riolu softly, Rico commented in positivity, “Well, that’s great, mom. I can battle you with one more Pokémon of mine.”
“Alright, go on,” Rosario replied in style, “Show me your strength.” Her Sylveon then responded in happy-innocence. Rico then put back his Riolu’s Pokéball in his Pokébelt; he then get another one, this time Piplup’s.
“I can do this,” Rico seriously thought as he hold the said Pokéball, “Make a strategy.” After some time, he called Piplup out and it stepped into battle.
“That’s cute,” Rosario commented about Piplup, “Cute as Sylveon.”
Then, as the twilight begins to occur, the battle began with Lucas ringing the bell four times. The horizon was darkened by the twilight and the light posts and other lighting turned on automatically.
“”Sylveon, use Fairy Wind!” Rosario seriously commanded Sylveon. Her Sylveon then used Fairy Wind, stirring up a fairy wind and fires it towards Piplup.
“Quickly, Piplup, intercept it with Bubblebeam!” Rico quickly commanded Piplup. Piplup then used Bubblebeam, opening its beak and released a stream of blue bubbles at Sylveon, intercepting Sylveon’s attack. Both attacks clashed to each other, one was against the other and vice-versa. Rico and Rosario then looked at them in serious pressure. And at last, the Bubblebeam managed to cut through the Fairy Wind, and strike Sylveon with great power. Sylveon then was backed away by a few feet and got weakened a bit. Everyone was then amazed by Piplup’s move.
“Wow, that Sinnoh starter was so strong,” Ben commented mildly.
“You could say that again,” Lucas answered him. His Unfezant and Magneton then responded in mild stunning.
“Oh, no, don’t give up, my dear Sylveon,” Rosario commanded Sylveon in stunning. Then back to her serious state, “Quickly, use Moonblast!” Getting up, Sylveon quickly used Moonblast, spreading its feelers wide open, and an image of the moon appears behind it. It then forms an orb of pink energy in front of its mouth, and fires it at Piplup.
“Again, intercept it with Bubblebeam!” Rico seriously and quickly commanded Piplup. Piplup then used Bubblebeam again, opening its beak and released a stream of blue bubbles at the Moonblast. Both moves then clashed to each other. Piplup then used Bubblebeam even more stronger and more bubbles, cutting through the Moonblast slowly, and finally struck Sylveon. Being struck, Sylveon interrupted its attack and an explosion occurred.
“Wow, that Piplup was so strong,” Blue Ninja thought as he and his Pokémon was watching the battle, “Never seen one before.” His Greninja then responded in seriousness.
Back at the battle, the smoke cleared, only to reveal that Sylveon had fainted in exhaustion and defeat. Rosario was shocked at this while Rico was intensely amazed by Piplup’s attack.
“Sylveon is unable to battle,” Ben announced, “Piplup wins, and the match goes to Rico.” Upon hearing this, Rico rejoiced in victory and happiness. Piplup then jumped to him in embrace. To conclude the battle, Lucas rang the bell, one once and another thrice. Softly calling her Sylveon without any hesitation, Rosario softly and mildly commented her son, “Wow, you really beat a strong woman like me. That’s awesome. I won dozens of times in the past, but it’s my tenth time I lost against someone.” Holding Piplup like a teddy bear, Rico brightly replied, “Thanks, mommy, I was so lucky.” Lucas, Ben, and the rest of their Pokémon then ran to them and commented, “Wow, congrats, Rico, you really battled your parents. That’s so cool.” Magneton, Pichu, and Litleo then responded in happiness.
“Thanks, you guys,” Rico happily replied. They and the rest then became happy as the twilight ends.
“Cool indeed,” Blue Ninja seriously commented. And so, Rico had battled his parents. Though he lost in those rounds, but he had found a way to weaken his opponents.
