Pokemon Pearl - Chapter 75
In the meantime, Juan, Detective Trevor, and their Pokémon are searching for Rico and his team, thinking that they might have get lost in the woods. The night was coming as moon is rising over the horizon. The scenery of the trees created a blocking and closing environment of the forest, with the trees’ shadows creating a moving, beautiful effect as the moonlight shines on them.
“Where are they?” Juan complained while searching with his flashlight.
“I think they lost their way back,” Trevor suggested seriously. He, Juan, and their Pokémon the searched farther and farther into the woods.
Meanwhile, at Camellia’s house, in the front yard, Rico and Camellia are having a Pokémon battle, with Edward watching them from the front porch with his Pokémon and the rest. Their Pokémon are Starly and Wormadam.
“Let’s see your strength and ability as a Pokémon Trainer,” Camellia said to the young Kawayan City boy in cool seriousness.
“I’m doing my best,” Rico responded back in competitive coolness. “Win or lose, I don’t care.”
“I hoped one of them wins,” Edward thought in his mind.
Then, as the moon rises, the battle had began.
“Wormadam, use Razor Leaf!” Camellia commanded Wormadam with coolness. Wormadam then used Razor Leaf, launching a sharp-edged leaf to slash at Starly.
“Starly, dodge it!” Rico commanded Starly quickly. Starly then dodged the Razor Leaf by flapping its wings and flew high, avoiding the attack quickly.
“Then use Gust!” Rico commanded Starly with coolness. While in the air, Starly used Gust, whipping up a strong gust of wind towards Wormadam, striking it with minimum power. Since Camellia’s Wormadam was strong, and Camellia trained it for a long time, it felt only a bit more powerful force from it, and it wasn’t strong enough to knock it out.
“I think it only felt a good push,” Camellia commented with a positive coolness. While Starly is still flapping in the air, Rico thought in his mind, “This is not gonna be easy, even I as the advantages.”
And as Edward and the other Pokémon, including the rest of Rico’s and Camellia’s Pokémon, are watching the battle, Juan, Trevor, and their Pokémon arrived at the scene in search of Rico, only to see the ongoing Pokémon battle.
“Rico! There you are!” Trevor called Rico. But Rico was too busy with the battle so Edward, upon seeing them, responded to them with, “Oh, guys, you’re here. Right timing, Rico and my sister are having a battle.” Then, finally, Rico noticed them from the distance, and then positively greeted them with a good evening, as if he wasn’t aware of what he had been doing.
“Rico, where have you been?” Juan asked him with calling. Then, feeling embarrassed by his actions, Rico scratched his head and apologized back, “Sorry, I went too far, and stumbled into the house of Edward’s sister, and…ended upon in a battle.”
“What? Professor Campillo had been calling you,” Trevor responded. “Where’s your phone?” Upon hearing that response, Rico suddenly remembered that he left his phone at the house of Emerson’s sister. And because of that, Rico once felt embarrassed again.
“Sorry, I kinda left that one at Jon and Cecilia’s house.”
That response from Rico causes Juan, Trevor, and Edward to facepalm in disappointment of Rico’s forgetfulness. But that scene fades away back into the battle.
“Wormadam, use Razor Leaf!” Camellia commanded Wormadam in style. Wormadam then used Razor Leaf, launching a sharp-edged leaf to slash Starly, striking it with minimum power. But Starly didn’t got knocked out and fell, and managed to maintain its place, causing Camellia to be surprised.
“Starly, use Air Slash!” Rico seriously commanded Starly. Starly then used Air Slash, attacking with a blade of air towards Wormadam.
“Quickly, use Leaf Storm!” Camellia quickly commanded Wormadam. Wormadam then used Leaf Storm, whipping up a storm of leaves and fire it towards Starly, before getting struck by Air Slash. Starly then got struck by Leaf Storm, causing it to fall towards the ground and got defeated. Simultaneously, Wormadam then got defeated by Air Slash, ending the battle to a tie. This both surprises both sides greatly, with Rico commenting that he never went into a tie in a Pokémon battle.
“I know,” Camellia responded back in stunning. Then to Rico in positive coolness, “Well, Rico, that was a cool bartel we had.”
“I never went into a tie, so it’s very good,” Rico replied back. His team then stunned at Rico’s unselfish attitude. It was a good battle.
Later by 7:35 p.m., Rico went back to the Valley District with Juan, Trevor, and their teams, and apologized to Professor Campillo and Emerson for going too far off the valley’s outskirts. After that, he, his team, and the others joined the district residents for a big, delicious dinner, before Rico, Juan, Trevor, Campillo, and their teams went to an inn to stay for the night.
And in a room for two, while Trevor was looking at the night sky in the balcony with winds, low and swift, blowing against him very mildly, Rico was speaking to his parents on phone, apologizing for going too far without telling. Lucas and Rosario, however, forgave him for doing such a reckless thing, telling him to be more careful next time.
“Thank you, mom and dad, I will,” Rico thanked them positively and normally. “Well, good night.” He then ended his conversation with his parents, but with positive results.
After some time, after brushing his teeth, Rico sat down on the chair, opened his personal journal, and began writing about his day, while adding some highlights and doodles using colorful highlighters and pens as his Pokémon are watching him.
