- Volume 4: A New Journey In Hoen Chapter 106 2: First Route
Arriving at Pokecenter, Soul went in and saw that there were few peoples here, as Nurse Joy could be seen at the end of the hall. He walked over to her as she kept her smile and said.
Nurse Joy: Hello there, welcome to Pokemon Center. What can I help you with today?
Soul: I would like to register for the Ever Grande Conference, please.
Nurse Joy: Yes, right away. You just need to put your trainer-id on the scanner over here, and you’ll be automatic register to it. If you don’t have at least 8 badges when it happened, you will be disqualified right away. That also goes for if you didn’t manage to register yourself at where the conference will be held in time.
Soul nodded at this as he placed his trainer-id and let the scanner do its work. After a few seconds, the scanner turned green as it made a *beep* sound.
Nurse Joy: The scanner has finished scanning and has registered you for the conference.
Soul: Un, I will be going now, thanks for the help.
Nurse: You welcome. If you need any more help, you can always come back here, or go to the nearest Pokemon Center for it. Have a nice day!
He waved back as he left the building with an excited smile. He left Littleroot Town and walked through Route 1 as he found a place to camp. It was almost lunchtime and all of his Pokemon were hungry.
Soul called out all of his Pokemon except for Torchic. Soul told his Pokemon to lower their energy as much as possible to not scare their new friend and member.
They did it as Soul told everyone to keep an eye for any persons, who could walk across the area they in. Even though they were deep in the forest, there was always a chance that a person could accidently come across them.
All of his Pokemon nodded as they went to explore the area and took a rest, but keeps an eye out for their surrounding. While they were doing this, Soul started to cook lunch for him and his Pokemon.
After a while, the food was ready as Soul didn’t need to tell them that food was ready as they already did it. There was one bowl left as Soul took out the Poke Ball he got from Professor Birch and called out Torchic.

An orange bird with a yellow plumb of three feathers on atop of his head. And on both of his sides, a yellow fur could be seen as Torchic looked at Soul with a curious gaze before a delightful aroma could be smelled from his small nose.
Torchic: Chirp, Chirp?
Soul: Hello there, Torchic. I will be your new trainer today, glad to meet you. You must be hungry, here.
He took the last bowl as it was laid in front of Torchic, who has sparkles on his eyes as he went to eat it. Soul smiled at the sight of it as he took a dish and ate his lunch.
When they all were finished, Soul took all of the dishes and gave it to Arc for cleaning. He then went to pick up Torchic, who was very satisfied with his meal.
Picking him up, Soul felt like that he was touching something warm and fluffy. Torchic’s body begun to glow a little as he radiates warm around his body.
Soul then went to introduce Torchic to his new friends and family. All of his Pokemon was nice, and Shadow actually greeted Torchic with words instead of giving him a nod.
Soul: Okay, Torchic. Let’s train and I will help you become the strongest Blaziken there is.
Hearing this, Torchic listened to Soul with full attention as Soul begin to explain about what he should do.
Finishing explaining, Soul started to train Torchich with his legs as it would become one of the most important parts in the future when he evolved to Blaziken.
The first thing they did was to improve Torchich speed and his movements. Right now, Torchic was moving with unsteady steps. So Soul helped him to walk steadily as there was a sign of improvement.
After getting hang of it, Torchic could now walk around without seeming to fall at any moment given.
The next training was Torchic to be able to run, which didn’t go well at the start. He could barely run for around one minute without falling. But Torchic didn’t give up and kept on pushing himself to the very limit he has.
Hours have passed by as Soul cooked dinner for his Pokemon, who thanked him as they appreciate Soul food as much as they respect him.
While they were eating, Soul suddenly thought of something.
Soul: ‘That’s right. Haven’t this little guy kept following me around wherever I was? Hmm I have an idea, but I need to finish the dish before it gets cold.’
After they all were finished with their dishes, Soul did the same thing as normal and let his Pokemon rested for a while before he returned all of them to their Poke Balls or Ultra Balls. The only exception was Mew, who transformed into a Plusle and sat on Soul’s shoulder, Torchic, who was sitting on top of Soul’s head, and Anubis, who would always be guarding them from the shadow.
The reason for why he didn’t return Torchic to his Poke Ball, was because he wanted him to explore and learn more about the world around him.
After an hour of walking as the sun begin to set, all four of them arrived at Oldale Town where Soul rented a room at Pokecenter for a night.
Before they went to bed, Soul told Torchic to not be scared when it fell asleep. Torchic nodded as all four of them fell asleep and the first day of Soul’s new journey has passed.
