Pokemon: Ultimate Generations - Chapter 26
Gan walked towards the nurse that called him over, she was holding a clipboard in her hand with a few papers on it. Judging from her expression; the situation wasn’t looking to be good, this caused Gan to worry. If such a talented Growlithe were to die, that would hurt him and his Pockets, so he wasn’t happy either.
“So, do you want to hear the good news or the bad news?” The Nurse sighed and asked.
“I’ll take the bad news, then hear the good news to cheer myself up.” Gan nodded and said.
“The bad news is, there is no good news and bad news is that your Growlithe has [Liver Disease]and [Malnourishment].” The nurse said coldly.
“…..” Gan was speechless from too many things she had said in one sentence.
“To actually allow something like [Liver Disease] to reach such a critical state, what kind of trainer are you?” The Nurse was very upset, what trainer would allow their Pokemon to reach this state and not stop this earlier on?
Thus, she viewed Gan very poorly, she even had him wait a while because of how mad she was. They had already checked Growlithe a while ago and identified what she had, but they kept Gan waiting on purpose, but he’ll never know that.
“I found that Growlithe abandoned in Viridian Forest, I’m from Celedon City. I was coming from Pewter City when I passed through Viridian Forest and discovered that Pokemon.” Gan explained, he was lying, but he wasn’t lying about getting this Pokemon as it was.
“Hmm….” The nurse looked at Gan suspiciously, it was against the law to treat Pokemon like this, it was basically [Animal Cruelty], but in this case; [Pokemon Cruelty].
“I got witnesses, you can question the people at the [Viridian Forest Outpost], they saw me.” Gan had his alibi, so he wasn’t worried if they got serious about this matter.
“Hmph! I’ll need to see your trainer ID if you’re a trainer. If you don’t have one, I’d like to see your parents about this.” The nurse still appeared to be mad but Gan didn’t think too much about it and just gave her his ID.
“What? You have a [Gym Badge], and it from Pewter City Gym!” The Nurse was stunned, he was a genuine trainer, and a good one to have gotten his first Badge. The boys from before, who were initially chuckling at Gan’s misfortune had expressions of shock.
Gan’s ID was updated by Brock, to be exact; the old man that worked for him at the front desk. He updated it, and it showed the [Gym Badge] he earned from defeating Brock on his ID, it now displayed for all to see!
“I-I’m.. sorry about before.” She finally believed Gan, she had no choice; this was a genuine ID with a Badge Icon on it.
“You’re good, just tell the situation on Growlithe.” Gan could care less about her anger from before, it just showed that she cared deeply for Pokemon.
“Well, [Liver Disease] in Dog type Pokemon has many symptoms.” The Nurse began to explain many things that came with Liver Disease. It was Depression, Abdominal bloating, Jaundice, and a loss of appetite.
It described Growlithe well when he remembered how it acted. Gan concluded and speculated that its trainer found out about its disease, and abandoned it soon after.
“Okay, what can you guys do to fix it?” Gan frowned and asked.
“Well, we’re going to have to open her up and conduct surgery; this is the only way to save her.” The nurse could only shake her head when she remembered Growlithe’s expression.
“So, how much is that going to cost?” Gan scratched his eyebrows asking this question.
“Hmm, it’ll cost ₱14,000 for the surgery.” The nurse said bluntly.
“Okay, it can be done, I’ll pay now if you guys can start right away. Also, how long will it take, can guys give me a rough estimate or do you guys just know?” Gan wanted to get a few things done, but it wasn’t that important compared to such a talented Pokemon.
“3 Days, it’ll take 3 days tops!” She pulled out a few papers that Gan had to sign, he paid for the surgery because he had no [Health Insurance]. The nurse wanted to prescribe some medicine for Growlithe; the first batch of pills was free but he’ll have to pay after the first freebie.
He had never heard of an animal taking pills before, he heard of liquids they could take… but pills? Gan didn’t question the Pokemon world and their medicine, it must be better than the medicine from his world.
Gan walked out of the Pokemon Center, he now had ₱121,000 on him. Afterward, he walked over towards the street where stalls were set up earlier. This street was now vacant, but Gan could still see Pidgeotto and Butterfree watching and guarding the stall.
Gan pulled out some food and water, then he fed the 2 before walking into the large tent stationed behind the stall. Once he walked inside, he spotted the Beedrill he had guarding the man, they were still watching the middle-aged man who had fallen asleep at this point.
Gan gave them some water and food as he did with Pidgeotto and the rest before approaching the man.
*Sniff Sniff* Why does it smell like piss over here?” Gan took a step back and found that the middle-aged man had pissed himself. Gan summoned Grimer and had it give the middle-aged man a good wake up hug.
“Ah~! What the fuċk is this, it stinks!!” The middle-aged man almost passed out again. It was no telling when he had gotten the gag from over his mouth.
Grimer wasn’t bombarding the area with that terrible smell anymore, but when it hugged the man he could smell it clearly.
“Wake-up, you’ve slept long enough, you even pissed yourself!” Gan looked at the man coldly.
“He’s the Pokemon I got from the Black Market, isn’t he amazing?” Gan grinned and commanded Grimer to back away.
“Ugh!” The middle-aged man’s face scrunched. Gan had one of the Beedrill cut the rope off of him. The man was surprised, how did this kid get access to the Black Market without running into trouble?
“I know what you want to ask, but it isn’t any of your business, I suggest you shut up and forget that you ever saw me.” Gan knew what he wanted to ask because of what he had to go through to even find and enter the Black Market.
“Yes, yes, of course, I never saw you, hehe!” For Gan to purchase a Pokemon from the Black Market wasn’t easy, he must be connected to those gangs.
“Good, I’ll be taking my leave, you won’t see me in a while.” Gan recalled his Pokemon and left without looking back.
‘I won’t see you in a while? How about we never meet again!’ The man cursed in his thoughts.
Meanwhile, Gan checked back into his hotel, it was quite a long day today, so he was tired. He was still a teen, so he needed all of his sleep. Gan, in a similar fashion, released his Pokemon to sleep, except for his Grimer, it was to stay in its Pokeball.
However, he made sure to feed all of them before going to sleep, of course, he had to take a bath first. Gan slept well, and time passed as well; both of his Pokemon had gone to sleep.
Eventually, the morning began to set in but Gan still didn’t get up as the sunlight peered through his window shades. He finally got up 4 hours later, at this point it was already 11:02 am. Gan stretched and started his daily work out before eating some breakfast.
This time, he had some Farfetech’d meat for breakfast, it wasn’t exactly breakfast food but it got the job done. After giving his Geodude and Koffing some breakfast, he recalled them and got dressed for the day.
“Hmm, I’m gonna need some more clothes, I only have so many I can wear. I also need to wash my clothes, I can’t keep wearing the same unwashed clothes.” Gan scratched his head before mixing his clothes up, then he went to brush and flaws his teeth.
Gan only had a residency here for a day, so he wouldn’t come back unless he wanted to renew it for an extended period. Leaving the hotel, he saw that the streets were just as lively as they were yesterday. Gan was planning to head back to Pewter City, so he could get a ride back to Celedon to take care of a few things.
“Before going back to Pewter City, I need to head to Route 22 to catch a couple of Pokemon. I’m not too far away from reaching my 35 different species caught.” Continuing on, he went off on his way; Gan had to admit that the Pokemon Center in Viridian was the biggest he had ever seen.
Gan didn’t have a regional map, so he asked for a bit of direction on the location of Route 22. He knew it was West, but he didn’t know which way was West. After getting some instructions from some old lady, he traveled in that direction.
He finally made it to Route 22, there was a brown brick road on this Route that led to the League Reception Building. But you would encounter wildlife before being able to make it there, after all, there was still a forest around filled with Pokemon.
Gan could see all of the Pokemon near the forest and in the tall grass, most of the were Pidgey and Rattata. There were some Spearow from time to time, but this wasn’t what he was looking for.
“Where are they, maybe I miscalculated?” Gan stood near a tree and watched on. These Pokemon discovered Gan but they didn’t bother him, better yet, they didn’t want to have anything to do with him.
“I’ll stay for a bit longer and see, I can’t be too sure, so I have to make sure!” Gan refused to give up and just stood by.
After waiting for an hour, nothing had changed, it was still the same Pokemon as it had always been. “I guess I was wrong, they should appear in a different spot in Kanto, it isn’t a total loss for me.”
Just when Gan had given up, a purple small figure appeared out of a bush.
|Name: Nidoran (M)
