Pokemon: Ultimate Generations - Chapter 68
Gan stayed in his room until it was lunch and dinner time—when he went downstairs to get food. He made sure to get some food for the Pokemon he was going to utilize or possibly utilize for this operation.
It would be a lie if he said he wasn’t bored waiting for the night to fall. However, Gan could only wait until the sun was close to setting.
Gan had continued to spy on Professor Oak’s lab from afar. He could see many people visiting Oak’s lab often, it was getting a lot of traffic every day. Some appeared to be older women and men, who were obviously scientists.
Gan also spotted Blue and surprisingly, Green from the Pokemon Let’s Go. She also made her appearance in other games and manga alike. Gan didn’t understand what reality of Pokemon he was in, but it seemed like it was more a mixture of things.
“Thank you for having me, but I’m leaving. I just needed a nap after my long journey of photography.” Gan announced to the woman behind the counter that he was leaving.
“Oh, I hope you rested well. Please come again in the future, we’ll always welcome you.” The woman smiled and said.
“I’ll be sure to, this place was amazing.” Gan smiled before he turned to leave the Inn. His smile quickly left his expression when he stepped out of the Inn.
Gan had seen many officers roaming the streets, this town seemed heavily protected. He had even seen a few trainers with bronze medals around Professor Oak’s lab.
Gan swiftly made his way to the nearest forest close to Professor Oak’s lab. People were already heading home by this point to wrap up the day. Gan was now in the forest, but he looked around to be sure he wasn’t spotted by anyone.
Gan sat in the forest before the night could fall and waited patiently. He didn’t summon any of his Pokemon and just sat on some random log.
“Professor Oak’s lab has a little stream going around it; this would make it complicated to get to his residence without a bridge.” This didn’t matter because Gan wasn’t going to Oak’s lab, he was sending some Pokemon there. And even if he had to, he could have Kadabra levitate him over the stream with ease.
Gan waited to his lonesome until the night was finally established.
“Sigh, it’s about that time now.” Gan, who was originally drawing odd images onto the ground with a stick, stood up. He scoped out his surrounding before reaching into his storage to grab some Pokeballs.
“Come out!” Kadabra, Haunter, and two Gastly were called forth.
Once he summoned the four of them, he started gearing up in his Team Rocket Uniform. His face shouldn’t and couldn’t be revealed. He wasn’t like those regular old Team Rocket members, who didn’t care about their faces being seen.
Gan attached flashbangs and stun grenades to his ċhėst and waist, along with some smoke bombs. He also made sure to attach his net gun to the side of his waist, which shot off fireproof and sturdy nets.
“Let’s do this!” Gan cracked his knuckles and neck and said.
“Alright, you three. I’m sure Kadabra has explained what I’m up to today, and what needs to be done. For now, remain on standby, let me scout the area first before I instruct you.” Gan spoke to Haunter and both Gastlys.
Haunter and the two Gastly nodded in return.
Afterward, Gan took out the drone; this was his way of scouting the place. He hadn’t conducted much of an investigation, in fact, he hadn’t done so at all but he didn’t want to visit Professor Oak. This man wasn’t stupid, Gan had a feeling that Oak would be able to put 2 and 2 together and figure out that he had robbed the place later down the line.
Whether it was being too cautious or Gan just overthinking it, he didn’t want to risk it. Gan leaned against a tree and controlled the red-eyed fly drone toward Prof. Oak’s lab.
It took four minutes before it arrived at Prof. Oak’s residence.
Another part of Oakland Forest.
“Eevee, tackle these logs and snap them in half!” The boy tossed a few logs at the Eevee, who lunged at them and broke each one that came towards it.
“Good! Let the feeling of the night flow through you, and you will become something great.” This boy was known as Gray from Pallet Town, he only trained his Eevee at night.
“Wow, you’re really training hard tonight, huh, Gray!” Yellow came over and said with a smile, she was accompanied by Pink and Orange.
“Oh, orange boy came.” Gray gaze over at the orange-headed boy and said.
“I told you to stop calling me orange and to call me Saffron instead,” Saffron said in an irritated tone.
“Yeah, whatever, why are you here anyway? I know you’re head over heel for Pink, but she doesn’t feel the same way.” Gray sighed and told it how it was.
“Gray! Shut up, she’s already my girlfriend, to begin with.” Saffron grinned and patted his ċhėst.
“I told you, you better stop going around spouting nonsense,” Pink said coldly to Saffron.
“For now, eventually, you’ll understand my greatness in time, you just haven’t realized it yet.” Saffron seemed confident in himself and shrugged what she said off with a grin.
Yellow gazed at Saffron with disdain, but she didn’t say anything and turned away. Saffron saw her gaze, but he believed Yellow to be nothing but a weakling in his eyes.
“Well… in any case, what brings you guy out here at this time of night?” Gray was usually by himself training, this was unexpected of them.
“Clefairy wanted to bath in the moonlight, so I decided to come out and let her enjoy herself.” It was a well-known fact that Clefairy enjoyed dancing in the moonlight and bathing in its ŀuster.
“Oh, that makes sense. I’m still trying to train my Eevee, so it can evolve to the next level. I can almost feel it, it’s so close to reaching its next form yet so far I feel.” Gray had to dedicate himself to evolving this Eevee at night because this wasn’t an easy task.
Eevee also had to bask in the moonlight while training to evolve into ‘that Pokemon’.
Suddenly, Saffron’s mouth rose into a deep grin before he said, “How about we have a battle, this might speed up its evolution process. Breaking logs all night is a slow process, a real fight should be enough to evolve it.”
“What? No fair, you clearly have the type advantage against him. This would be no contest if you guy were to fight.” Yellow didn’t like the idea of seeing a cute Eevee getting beat up by a muscle-bound midget like Machop.
Yellow had seen how Machop was choking out pidgeys and head locking Rattata’s in the thicket yesterday, and it wasn’t pleasant to watch for her.
AN: LOL!
“Oh, shut up! No one wants to stay a weakling like you forever, so put a cap on it.” Saffron sneered at Yellow before ignoring her and turning back to Gray.
“Ryan, you should watch your mouth when you speak! Have some respect for once in your life!” Pink’s expressed her contempt for this guy and his personality, she really hated this about him. In her eyes, he was far worse than that arrogant Blue, who at least had modesty and skills to back it up.
Saffron shrugged, he didn’t think he said anything wrong.
“Yeah, I’ll battle you, this might work. At least it would put me ahead of Lavender, who also uses this method during the day.” Gray agreed after a bit of thought.
“Good! Let’s start!” Saffron tossed his Pokeball and the match began.
…
Oakland Forest.
Gan had no idea that there were others in the same forest as him sparring and practicing at this time. The drone had managed to enter Prof. Oak’s home through a cracked window, that wasn’t fully shut.
Professor Oak was spotted right away, he was looking at some papers on a clipboard alone.
However, Blue suddenly came out of a room and started making conversation with him. Blue talked about various things, even saying that he was going to leave early on his journey to get a head start on everyone else.
Gan began to whistle to himself before finding a door that went downstairs. This obviously led to Prof. Oak’s lab where all the goodies were stored.
“Hehe, jackpot, baby!” Unfortunately, it was a door, so it was closed and nothing could enter it without turning the knob. Gan sighed, but he discovered a keyhole on the door.
“Can the drone fit?” Gan surely hoped so, as he tried it out. With great struggle, he was finally able to fit the spy drone through the keyhole. The door was made out of iron, but he was able to unlock and lock the door with a key, so it required a keyhole for this.
AN: It’s an old-school keyhole.
The lab was dark, but it was a good thing this drone had night vision. The lab was massive, this made Gan really excited about what he might find down here.
Gan could hear mechanical sounds in one particular area, so he maneuvered his drone towards that direction. These areas didn’t have doors on them, so this made things easier for him.
Arriving at the room, he could see a great number of Pokeballs lined up on shelves that more Pokeballs behind them. These Pokeballs had Pokemon in them as well from what the scanners were picking up. There was a machine bringing down Pokeballs and stocking them behind other Pokeballs.
Gan immediately got to work and had the drone fly over to scan the Pokeballs. This scanner could detect what type of Pokemon was in each Pokeball.
“Okay, let’s do you first,” Gan said excitedly. Haunter and Kadabra were right behind him, watching the screen. The two Pokemon’s widened eyes met before they turned back to the screen with great interest.
…
…
The first reading was Meowth, something he cared nothing about. He kept scanning more Pokeballs, while he found a rock to sit on to do this. This seemed to be more a game than anything else at this point.
“Oh!” After about twelve readings, the next reading brought a smile to his face.
…
[Squirtle]
…
The spy fly landed on the Pokeball and proceed to mark it with a green spray liquid from its mouth. Gan smiled and moved to the next Pokeball, but it was nothing relevant to him.
So far there was nothing he found interest in until he ran into two Pokemon he wanted. Well, he wanted to add them to his Pokedex.
…
[Tauros]
[Mr. Mime]
…
Gan proceeded to mark these Pokeballs with the green spray liquid as well. Gan stopped what he was doing. He wanted to check out more Pokeballs but Gan wanted to explore the lab a bit more.
Gan controlled the drone to leave the room and enter another, which was right down the hallway. In here, he saw a large computer screen with several odd machines that were blinking with red and green light.
And there, Gan saw a large long table with strange orbs on them. Gan’s hands shook in elation and shock upon seeing them!
“M-mega Stones!” Gan couldn’t hide his excitement.
